No he created AC which is much more efficient than DC. He also made an earthquake machine thing. If you want go onto a site called badassoftheweek and look him up. Your respect will rise for him.
Your PC would die a horrible death if you tried to run it on AC though ;)

My PC's input was AC last time I looked. Okay, the electronics are a different story, but I imagine they'd just do nothing interesting with an AC current, at least not unless it was the full 240 volts of mains supply.

Dr. Bruce Banner

Okay, seriously though, I don't know if he really counts as a scientist, but Dr. Jonas Salk. He probably did one of the most honorable things in history.

Tesla. He was a bit on edge but nonetheless a brilliant man. Next would be Charles Darwin. He wasn't a scientist per se but he did make one of the biggest contributions to science ever so I think he counts.

I thought that was Swann. Edison was more the Bill Gates of his day rather than an actual inventor.
Bill Gates isn't as much of a dike.

Bill Gates isn't really a dike though. He gives a godly amount of money to charity. Just reminds you of how rich he is.

Screw Tesla, he's more myth than man nowadays. The stories about him are more embellishing than factual, and most people lose sight of who the man really was because of all the fictional stories that've been built around him.

Now http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Feynman, he's a man who lives up to the stories. If you want a real life man of genius, who was also quite the ladies man, then he's your ticket. Working on the creation of the H-bomb by day, hitting on the ladies of Los Alamos by night. While he also worked an angle in the theory of Quantum Electrodynamics, that's rather cool too.
