Why adopt? when you could easilly make your own?

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 8:07 am

Why would you waste all that time having six, which is awkward and messy and gross and no fun for anyone involved, when you can just skip straight to the only reason people want to have six in the first place- having a child?

It could just cut to black, and say "nine months later".

Then congratulations! You've finally sired your own child!

And nine months later, you have a baby that needs constant feeding, caring and attention.

It seems to me that having biological children in a game created around the idea that the PC is an adventurer of sorts (yes, I know you don't have to RP as it, but the most quests are still designed like that) can only work if the PC is male.

And then there's the time frame, and how it affects other NPCs. Nope, not working.

Easily for us, of course, and perhaps not so easily for Bethesda. But I'm a big fan of the idea, and would be ready to face all its inconveniences :)

Um, I think that's what most of the strategically placed buckets in corners are for! Technically it would be 'bucket training'. There are washstands too but no one uses them and most just have ingredients or mead in them. I found an area in one of the caves which looked suspiciously like the toilet area for the bandit den.
Well played, my friend..... Well played!

Unless you're female. See any bottles or powdered formula in Skyrim?
The reason why the mother stayed home with the kids for most of history is simple, and has nothing to do with sixism. Simply put, she's carrying their food supply around with her.

There ARE records of men being able to produce milk and briastfeed, but it seems to be much harder and he probably won't be able to produce enough milk. (As I understand it, men have the equipment - the mammary glands and, obviously, the nipbles - but not enough of the right hormones - correct me if I'm wrong here, I'm no expert.)

But maybe men on Nirn are different. :P

I suppose a wet nurse could do, but stil...

eh, I just want Orc/argonian/khajit/elf kids around. I'm playing an orc, married to an orc, who only used orc followers. Why the bleep would he adopt a bloody pinkskin child?

I agree. There should be orc and Dunmer kids, if no other.

An RP solution for those who MUST HAVE a kid of their blood. You meet Lucia in Whiterun/Samuel or Hroar at Honorhall (the other orphans know who their fathers are). They say that their mom died. You ask what her name was. They tell you. And OH CRAP!! it's that girl in Cyrodiil you had a good time with 10 years ago. Voice trembling, you ask about the kid's father. And the description is strangely familiar...

So, of course, you do the right thing and give your long-lost offspring a home. PROBLEM SOLVED!

But if the Dovahkin dies before any of his/her children become teenagers, then you'd have to begin a new savegame.

Well, seeing as how Dragonbirth is bestowed, not inherited, your kids may not get it.

I think it would be too much effort. I think there should be some child Dunmer, Orsimer, Altmer, and have all the races look different. Braith in Whiterun looks like a Nord not a redguard. Also maybe a child Khajiit, or Argonian.
But their own kin, as said before, female Dovahkiin having to have the baby all the time, would not work.

There are some races where the absence of kids can be explained away.
* Argonian kids might be more reptilian or amphibian than advlts. Maybe they can't survive in Skyrim.
* Khajiit can't enter cities. So they might leave their kids at home.
* And there's hardly any Bosmer around.

I think it should be there for those who want it. It's like gay marriage. It is there for those who want it, but the government is not forcing you to do it

There is a Reguard kid.

The main reason is, marriage is not limited to race. Dafuq would a child born to an Argonian Dragonborn and Taarie look like?

children by lore is the race of the mother
so if you are a nord but the mom is a khajiit the child will born khajiit unless the mom is you :)

I see.

I think a dialogue option, "We should have a child", would be good, but I really don't want to see six in TES. The Elder Scrolls have a certain... Class, that you don't find in Fable or other games.
