that's it- either a racial insult or the fact there is much less NPC interaction and reaction in Skyrim than the last ES game.

I suppose it's synonymous with Cyrodilic in many people's eyes, and the assumption that everyone from Cyrodiil is Imperial probably makes them generalise an awful lot. Might as well call it racism.

Thats it; the NPC is actually from Imperial city....

Norms and conformity do strange things to people. Regardless, that's just an imagined explanation of mine; the real explanation is that the game doesn't react to your 'change' in allegience and therefore doesn't change the response of NPCs.

That explains why all stormcloaks still say "HUMPH" when I walk by

Cyrodiils/Imperials are synonymous. Just like Dunmer/Dark Elf, Altmer/High Elf, etc...

you just broke the game, an imprial joining the stormcloaks? if they win then you just booted your self out of Skyrim, Skyrim for the Nords, no others.

I'm pretty sure that 1) They don't literally mean "NORDS ONLY GTFO". There saying Nords have a right a to their land and they will get the bigger say in problems and such. And I'm not an imperial in my eyes. I'm not fighting the skyrim civil war. I'm honoring my emperor. It's all roleplaying my friend.

Because Nords are racist. You could become Ulfric's right hand man, but will still be treated like a filthy imperial.

wrong, the altmer who lives there is set up nice, just because she isnt whining (for lack of a better word) like the dark elves (those ash-svckers should stop complaining and begging when they have an entire district to themselves, maybe they should do soemthign about their problems instead of begging someone who is a little busy with a war to take time and give them more undeserved help), the argonians are out on the docks because the ash-svckers are taking up the room in the city (Which they dont deserve) and ulfric does not want them to start a riot trying to kill each other

It was probably the old guy dressed in green (something Snow-Shod) that lost his daughter to the war. Talk to him and you will feel awful about supporting the Empire

BTW, for some reason Stormcloaks were calling this guy (a Redguard dressed in DB gear) an Imperial, too.

She's she alludes she got over the hardships by making friends with the thieves guild not exactly a rolemodel for non-nord success if it requires falling in with criminals. Despite the great war Altmer aren't being discriminated against. The simple fact is showing the success of an Altmer means nothing The Dark Elf shopkeeper to the right Aval Atheron says point blank They don't let dark elves live anywhere outside that slum. Explain how that isn't racist? He has to live in the Gray Quarter because he's a dark elf doesn't matter if he has money. Argonians are the same way, they have to live at the docks because of the Nords predjustice. Dark Elves and Argonians aren't killing one another in Riften so the two races fighting excuse is bull. Brunwulf Free-Winter will explain when giving his quest to kill the bandit leader how if a Nord is attacked Ulfric will send troops. But if they threaten non-nords in his hold he does nothing.

You are an actual Imperial, just as you would be an actual Dark Elf were you a Dunmer.
