I guess I prefer Cyrodiil's strand of vampirism, Blending in with society and actually being able to question if that person is a Vampire is more fun, like that quest in Oblivion for The Order of the Virtuous Blood.
these vampires just stick out like a Flare at midnight, and the NPC's don't give a crap. I know they're supposedly under their spell or something, but come on! their eyes are glowing brighter than the sun right now!
I'm fine with how the Volkihar vampires are, only thing I could add is them actually BURNING in the Sun.
and Nightmares

This. I prefer them too. You can still become a member of the Order Vampyrum and dominate others in the name of Molag Bal, but it is usually in a smaller, subtle scale than a public war. I still hope, depending on the location of the next game, that the Order are included. If it is High Rock, then you bet there will be some Order involved since they got beef with the Glenmoril Wyrd(maybe thats why Melisande is the last witch within Cyrodiil's borders).
This thread is about physical appearance.
And charm has almost nothing to do with intention.
Yes, but people are comparing the Volkihar to Dracula. I wouldn't go that far. There was some inspirations, such as turning into mist and such. There was also "vampire's seduction", which the Volkihar have. That power was first given to a vampire player in Oblivion, so I still do not know why they even have that ability. I guess cause they are ugly 24/7 and they need to charm their way into people's heads to enthrall them.
Seridur was going to enthrall Relfina in Oblivion, I suppose, when he hypnotized her and sunk his teeth into her neck. Like Dracula and Mina Harker. Also, a nocturnal visit into a cattle's bourdouir screams Dracula!
