Why are Werebears such a big freaking deal?

Post » Fri Oct 19, 2012 1:36 pm

Why has Werebears been one of the most consistently asked for features since Skyrim was announced?

They are very similar to werewolves in appearance and I can only assume gameplay would be too. I honestly do not like transformations. Not being able to loot or heal is too annoying and I use werewolf and vampire lord sparingly if at all.

I understand "they're part of the lore," but couldn't someone easily mod the appearance of werewolves and end all this fuss?

Its just a very vocal minority of folks keep harping on that issue. If it really was that large a demand, a person would have re-skinned a werewolf to a were-bear by now. Or created a were-bear monster.

Considering beths track record, it'd be amusing for beth to create a were-bear. They'd probably hate it with a fiery passion. God knows I hated the route they took with vamp lords. Sure, lets force a person into an ugly bat monster form, then lets make them play in third person.

I would rather have Bethesda focusing on new weapons, areas, quests, spells..Hell I'd rather have them work on almost anything other than Werebears. I just don't find them even remotely interesting.

Is this thread neccesary, I don't why you guys are so negative just because some people want something different than yourself.

That's what I thought. Couldn't you of just asked this in the other thread? :ermm: To answer the question they're not a big deal. They would be nice to add, and offer a different playstyle (IMO).

Because we can eat people. We can tear the apart as animals, rather than your cliche hero with a sword/magic/staff/shield/dagger/shouts. If you don't like it, than that's your problem. People want it. Do you have to become a werebear in the game if they are added? No. Do you have to transform? No!

Why would werebears even want to loot? How could they even loot to begin with? They're animals. Simple as that. I just think you should accept the fact that it's a wanted feature and that many people like it. You don't, so that's that.

It is way beyond negative and I dont see a reason in this thread. It's just asking for a Fourm War.

This. What are they going to do? Wear their armor while in beast form?

Because not everyone cares about new areas or spells. Some people, including myself, may consider them like a waste of time. Accept the fact that there are people that like different things than you ;)

I agree with OldManGover, if somoene dont get it why people want werebears in Skyrim (or other werecreatures in future TES games) there is no point in explaining to them.

I want to apologize if it came off as an attack but there really is no need to be so defensive. It amazes me that people would view a simple discussion over a requested feature as a "forum war."

You don't understand. Making this thread at the time you did and with the title you made is an attack on us "Were" fans and it is pretty pointless. Why aren't people asking whats the obsession with the Dwemer, Thalmor, Ect. its all the same.

And like someone else mentioned only a vocal minority of us lycanthropy fanatics has been requesting this. If anything spell-making, spears, dragon-riding, to name a few are the most constantly asked features.

Because Dwemer and Thalmor have importance to the Elder Scrolls verse to the nth degree more than a single strain of lycanthropy (not even Hircine's favourite or greatest at that) does?

The way i see it werecreatures, vampire clan(s), crossbows, hand to hand, spellmaking, throwing weapons , spears should all be in the game... in every next TES from day one, because there is no reason not to.

Um... they don't have as much importance in Skyrim....Maybe Summerset Isle. Thats the funny thing we are asking for a small feature. People that want Dwemer and Thalmor want a whole DLC about them.

Yes, it's my opinion. But it's also fact that the Thalmor are most certainly more important than Werebears.

NOT IN SKYRIM! Maybe Summerset Isle. Nords, Dragons, and Werebears are more important to Skyrim.

I could give a flying flip about the Thalmor. Again that's your opinion not a fact.
