Why aren't Argonians lethargic in Skyrim?

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 12:55 pm

The same reason that Female Argonians have briasts.

They're mammals, not reptiles.

Seriously, if those guys are busting a nut over Argonians, let's see them explain Khajiit morphology...

And the authors intend for basic biology to be the same, so it is, with whatever exceptions they want, like with the Khajiit and the moons.

Science and logic in a world of magic and superstition :P.

How is it the authors wish for biology to be accurate when inter-specie conception is possible and the offspring is 100% the mothers species?

The same reason that Female Argonians have briasts.

...Because in the eyes of the mainly male game developers and character designers, the one thing that makes a female character a female are briasts?

They're mammals, not reptiles.

No, they're not. Science isn't necessarily magic, but magic is a science.

I think its ridiculous that you're trying to attribute actual science to a video game set in a totally different universe.

A setting as deep as Mundus needs some rules, and most of them come from the real world. I never said that magic is an "actual science", just that, within the setting, that's exactly what it is.

In any case, animal classes (mammals, reptiles, amphibians, etc.) are the same in Mundus, so the Argonians have to be one of them, even if they don't fit all of the characteristics that their class has in the real world. To me, it makes more sense that they would be amphibians than reptiles, since they have scales and gills. Real-world amphibians are cold-blooded, but that doesn't mean Argonians have to be.

Why do they have to be anything?
They're scaled individuals who copulate to produce eggs from which the emergent svckle from mammary glands and are capable of breathing underwater. While also being endothermic.

Riddle me that.

Because it's established in the lore that animal classes are the same. We don't know much about it, but, clearly, it's different from the one in the real world. Maybe they're amphibians or reptiles or mammals or maybe they're in a class all their own. Doesn't matter anyway.

Argonians were brought to TES by a reptilian who wants to rule the Earth...

That's stupid as saying Argonians are cold blooded... If they were, they would froze up like a frog, in the snow.
