Why does EVERYTHING looks so terrible?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 10:37 am

Its not even that weird glitch that makes your hands go blurry, ALL the textures are screwed up horribly. Every texture in Oblivion looked better than this. Maybe not form an art design perspective, but technically Oblvion has better graphics as long as these textures are so [censored] bad. Even stuff in your inventory is coming up incredibly blurry.

"Examine Everything in HIGH detail", my ass, Todd.
Its like having the mob come and cut up your beautiful wife's face with a knife...

Why do people keep installing when there's been so many warnings about it? The game's gorgeous.

Ditto, I`m playing on the new black xbox console with a 32 inch flatscreen television and a HDMI cable to enhance the graphics and I can`t see any major problem anywhere, as the graphics look stunning enough to me,but then some people always have higher expectations than others, resulting in them making mountains out of molehills.

Why do people keep saying that not installing actually fixes anything? It doesn't. We have multiple reports saying that playing from the disc also causes the problem and I can also confirm this first hand as well.

I've played off the disc and from the HDD and my textures look HORRIBLE.

Maybe it's based on which model XB360 you have?

I have a newer Kinect ready model with a 250GB HDD.

I recommend NOT installing Skyrim.

I didn't install Skyrim and half the textures look terrible.

There's a few that look fine, or look good at a distance.. but objects in my inventory come up extremely blurry and very low resolution. The scenery is very blocky and pixellated, and so on. It's not game breaking, as I've played games with worse graphics, but still makes me feel sad. All the videos of Skyrim I've seen look amazing, yet my game looks horrid compared to them.

But if it's the price I have to pay for such a great game, then I can live with it.

I'm with ya on this. It svcks, but I've played it for small periods of time with the textures loading properly and it's really really awesome.

I hope they can figure this out soon

I hope so too. I know there was one point a waterfall looked absolutely beautiful, then the textures gave out again. :(

I can live with it, but I hope they look into it.

I installed mine and I have yet to experience bad textures as well. Idk what to tell you people. But my testimony with this guy's, proves gstaff to be correct in that the problem deals with neither off the disk or install.

There is a SLIGHT improvement when playing from disc instead of HDD but the graphics is definatly sub-par for a game released in late 2011...

Agreed. For all of the hype and previews on how gorgeous this game is, I have yet to be impressed. Graphics are okay, but nothing to rave about.

Maybe because they didn't test it on each of the dozens of hardware revisions MS has released? It works fine for me btw and it's honestly one of the best looking games I've ever played. It svcks that a lot of people are having the issue and I hope they sort it out quickly.

I think this actually has to do with whether you have the slim model or not... All the people I know with a slim complain about bad textures while people with the original have it on their HDD and didn't have a problem.

I don't have much choice. My disc drive is a touch temperamental, so installing games is pretty much mandatory for me.

Oh, I have the old-style 360, not a slim, and I have texture issues.

Slim here and no problems, but that is running off the disc.

I read all of the replys here first; then opted to install it on a 16gb flash drive. I have not experienced what I would consider "low level" textures or awful graphics, but the graphics are definitely less than what I saw from previews based upon the Xbox 360. The overall graphics I am getting are what I would consider average. Basically, on par with Oblivion, worse in some cases. Worse than games like DA2.
