Why do males make female characters on Skyrim?

Post » Fri Jan 25, 2013 9:35 pm

It can be really hard to figure out what kind of reasons circle around in people's heads. Sometimes people can't even figure them out themselves. But I do think some of the mods at the nexus give a quite clear idea about one of those reasons amongst some of those players. But I doubt there can one simple answer to this kind of question.

That's two words... Altmer? I think not.

I don't play females because I'm not female, and female protagonist aren't interesting to me. Simple as that.
This I agree with. The only reason I play as a female is because of the eye candy. :D

Edit: I know what I said was two words, but why just go with one?

I think the serious RPers tend not to mess around with some of those mods. Sure, there are straight men that want eye candy, just as there are homosixual men that put the genitalia mods on men for the same reason.

I think a small number of people are making these revealing mods, and a lot of people mess with them here and there, but people who are in depth RPers don't create memorable characters with ridiculously skimpy armor.

My main reason for creating a male Argonian dragonborn is that female Argonian are not a success to my eyes. I wouldn't create female Khajiit either for the same reason. I don't want to use mods that make them better either. The other races I create male or female indifferently.

Seems sorta creepy to me but I was wondering what inspires you to do it.

I find it creepy that you find it creepy

There doesn't need to be a reason for the six of your character - or race - or beast.

I never understood the term, "toon" either. I just call them characters because, well, they're characters.

True, but I just said that those mods give clear reason to why some males play as females. But I also said there's no simple answer to this question as reasons can vary from person to person.

I will have to agree with this last part. I tried out skimpy armors on my female characters but for the ones I seriously RP I keep them in lore friendly tasteful armors. No fighting dragons in a chain bikini. But I'll have them wear armor thats say as skimpy as fur or forsworn. I don't see the problem with that. My orc Borgakh, she wore sorta skimpy armor to show her character as a savage female orc from the wilds (see my sig for pics of her on minus-you'll have to look at the folders) But in the thick of battle she would always wear something protective.
