Why is the DLC's taking so Long...

Post » Fri Dec 03, 2010 8:38 pm

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that as of today, the patches for all systems have been released accordng to the Bethblog. If this is true, The honest hearts trailer and the actual honest hearts are both among us. If Bethesda is smart, they'll release the trailer VERY SOON and release the DLC before the COD map packs release.

The meaning of 'patience' and 'soon' is lost to Bethesda, and its fanbase.

What annoys (and borderline insults) me is

A. We've known for four months that Honest Hearts is the next DLC

B. We already know the whole plot line because of the PS3 trophy descriptions

and C. The trailer is already uploaded to YouTube, but it's SITTING THERE and it's MARKED PRIVATE.

Who does Obsidian/Bethesda (I honestly don't care which) think they're teasing? We know we're going to meet some guy named Daniel, fight a tribe called the White Legs, get Joshua Graham some ointment, and evacuate Zion National Park, so this is pointless. I haven't played New Vegas in 2 months, and I honestly considered selling it today, (even after the hundreds of hours I've put into it) which shocked even me. Not only am I getting irritated that getting one crumb of official information has taken so long, I'm starting to lose interest in anything attached to Bethesda (which should've happened the second Fallout 3 froze on my four times in the opening sequence... but I digress),

Anyway, thumbs up, I'm going to put those ten bucks into a copy of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Thank you for ruining the DLC for me ass wipe. Not like I wanted to find all this out on my own and enjoy the twist.

There seems to be a real lack of coordination between Bethesda and Obsidian at times. Both share the blame equally in my opinion.

No, you have it all wrong. This is how it works on the Bethesda forums:

If you began playing Fallout with the original games, everything wrong with New Vegas is Bethesda's fault.
If you began playing Fallout with Fallout 3, everything wrong with New Vegas is Obsidian's fault.

Please don't make this error in the future; reasonable responses are not tolerated here.

and how many of those glitches/bugs/freezes are down to Microsofts Xbox api, Sony PS3 api, graphic driver errors etc etc? Seems to me the PC version was the most stable of the lot this time around (can't vouch for FO3, but that was pretty good too on PC). To be fair to both Bethesda and Obsidian (and Bioware and Uncle Tom Cobley and all) writing a title for THREE platforms must be a nightmare. Just thank the gods they don't have to put Wii and DS into that mix too, we'd be here forever.

I'm inclined to cut them some slack as far as bugs go. Not as far as DLC go though... they've already announced HH is finished, so give us a trailer already! lol

Honestly when i played fallout 3 i never had many problems on xbox tho aparently alot of people did. Also the reason why the PC version is more stable is because people actually take it upon themselves to fix the glitches/bugs/freezes and then release all the fixes to everyone else whereas you cant really do that as far as im aware.

i honestly dont blame gamesas or obsidian for all the glitches because the fact that they had a due date for the game and everyone wanted the game so if they tried to push a release date back then u people would still be mad. i would rather have waited a couple more months ffor the game to release so we could have a good solid games. but in the mean while just be patient the dlc is coming, just think if the dlc released now and the bugs werent fixed their would be a ton more crashes

It would be nice to see a teaser trailer or some screenshots or something...even if it doesn't come out "soon". Having no info whatsoever on the official site is making me worry.

Zero Words...

...forget this nonsense and move on to the next game. New Vegas had its glory albeit brief thanks to marketing and unreleased content.

Yeah with a game like this its kinda hard dealing with incompetent developers... All Bethesda would have to do is hire someone to acknowledge some of the forum posts and give us daily updates. If your even reading this Bethesda then allow me to blow your minds....THIS WILL WORK !

Really? That's all they'd have to do?

What if the update was: "We have no update," or "We're working on it, but no more details," or "Coming soon, but no release date!"

Then what?

You'd still be happy?

There must be a reason that Bethesda is radio silent. Has anybody thought about that?

well its done they say... so why no trailer or release date? sure there could be a good reason... tell us what it is! even sony is doing a better job than beth and thats not saying much because they were silent for a few days too... the reason is theyre focusing on other games like rage and skyrim and theyve decided to wait on hh for some reason but they wont tell us...patch maybe? its out and working so at least give us some more news ifnot a trailer. because of psn being down? well that doesnt make sense to me but then tell us that? or maybe its because they just dont care about their customers. thats why people are irritaded. have YOU thought about THAT? I keep seeing you talk down to everybody saying that there must be a good reason... well what could be the good reason? id love to hear it.

they already said its done. they arent working onit. they said itd be out after the patch. the patch is out. have you thought about that? looking forward to your condescending reply telling us that none of us can reason as well as you. lots of love, one of the many people on here that just can't match your genius.

What if the the DLC is already out?
What if they're ALL already out?
What if by coming to this forum we have somehow locked ourselves into a parallel dimension?
One where we will have to eternally wait for a DLC that will never come?

Didn't consider THAT possibility now did ya??

You know I wonder if the reason why the DLC is taking so long to release is that someone found a gamebreaking bug in the DLC and they are having trouble getting rid of it and the fact that the bug is placed in an area that's important to the DLC. Something that's unavoidable like a particular item glitching or something similar.
