Why is there so much walking?

The dlc is so short and rushed they make you walk long distances so the dlc seems longer.

Just get off the forums sir.

Yes. And I also feel it was too much walking, especially in the Vale. The Vale is cool, but it was a lot of empy space for the sake of nothing. The dragon fight was cool though.

I thought it was cool, but I enjoy the feeling of exploration. What would be the point if everything was right in front of your face?

Arvak's quest wont have markers until you complete the Soul Cairn main quest. As soon as you've got the scroll and kill the undead dragon, the markers will show up for the side quests. Seems bugged, maybe.

it was poorly paced.

Only if you rush through and fast travel everywhere. That could be said for the game as a whole in that case. Any game is like that if you dont take the time to enjoy it.

Not true, I had markers before the main quests were done. Could be bugged for some though, I guess.

Was bugged for me. I couldn't even find the soul that you return the skull to. He was no where to be found :(

Must be a bug, he was right there for me. I hope I dont encounter this, Arvak is super useful for climbing mountains. All horses are, but he's a summonable horse, so I dont have bring a horse with me to use this function. Only reason I'd even think to use a horse is for climbing mountains, especially since companions cant ride on ur back.

The guy spawns next to you in that exact area after you pick it up. Please just use your eyes man, I like missions with not a lot of hand holding. Posts like this will just make more and more games even simpler.

Agreed. I'll cite mass effect. The first mass effect was AWESOME. And once it made a bunch of money EA took it over and transformed it from an space RPG to a space FPS and took out so much just to dumb it down for stupid people who didn't want to figure out how to do stuff and make it more appealing to the masses. I'm not calling you stupid, guy who made this post. Just agreeing with this guy that I quoted.

Dont even get me started on mass effect...Love all of them, but wish they were all like the first 1. Mass effect 3 ending made me cry. :( The new ending is much much better though. Explained everything a lot better. They didnt change it, but they took the time to explain everything which is what the series deserved. Still not enough to get me off skyrim and dawnguard though.

Actually I'm a big explorer too. Half my time is spent running around just looking at [censored]. I think, as mentioned above it was poorly paced, and actually lacked depth. I don't know if that makes sense or not. Beautiful spaces, great to look at, but I feel like they are there just to be there. I know there are some content/side quests, but I feel that Soul Cairn and Vale are pretty much empty.

I think Dawnguard has a lot of great stuff, I think it also has a lot of empty stuff. Mixed feelings for this guy.

Fair enough. To each his own.

It is for exploration and discovery of new side quests. Talk to souls, look for items, etc. Half the fun of role playing games is the exploration. Don't rush through quests. Stop and smell the roses, so to speak. Rushing will cause one to miss out on lots of great content. Just saying.....
