Wildlife in Skyrim

Post » Sun Aug 23, 2009 1:00 pm

I hope Bethesda adds many new wildlife animals to skyrim, and maybe they could even add a hunting skill. Here is a list of wildlife that would work in a Skyrim setting:

Woolly Mammoth, Saber Toothed Tiger, Snow Leopard, Arctic Wolf, Rabbit, and a Yeti. Post other animals you would want to see. You may select multiple options.

I honestly don't see a need for a hunting skill, but more enemies/animal varieties are always welcome

All of the above. Yetis should be a rare occurrence though.

All of the above. :D

I'd also like to see a few unique creatures like Morrowind had, such as the Nix Hound. Maybe Snow Nix Hounds? Haha.

I agree. And since it's rare, their fur and meat should be much more valuable.

Something that isn't on Earth. Real-world creatures are boring.

Sabber Toothed Tigers, Mammoths and Yetis no longer exist...Yetis never existed, but that's not the point. I think these would all be pretty interesting. There are plenty of real world creatures in Oblivion.

I want em all! Rabbits are tasty, and who wouldn't want to sample mammoth meat? :hubbahubba:

Also, saber-toothed cat fangs would make nice jewelry, or make for a good pair of makeshift daggers. :P

Maybe I could mount a yeti-head on my wall while I'm at it.

Seriously though, I think all but the saber-toothed cat, mammoth, and yeti will appear in TESV. Snow leopards are in the realm of possibility, but seem rather iffy to me. (They are what I especially would like to see in TESV though.)

Oh yeah, penguins! I'm adding that to the poll. But now I want something fantasy besides the yetis.

Ferocious wee beasties like

Were-ermine!
Vorpal snowshoe hares
Lynxs...well maybe not after that mountain lion thing in OB ;)
Vorpal Voles!
And any kind of creature that is unique and never before seen in any varience. I want a different land/ecotome.

The Yeti isn't in TES lore, the Udyrfrykte is.

Whales need more love.

More sea life = better chance of actual seafaring gameplay = happiness
