Will they Ever fix the Dark Brotherhood mask?

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 7:42 am

Since I began the Dark Brotherhood questline, I envied Astrid's awesome Shrouded Cowl. It's been about half a year since the game came out and to this day I haven't found a mod that fixed it so male characters wear a masked cowl. Is it moddable/patchable? This is possibly one of the coolest hooded gear in the series so it would be a shame if this issue stays unresolved.

I don't see why not, because there's currently a specific item that in its name says it doesn't have it, when in reality neither of them have it. I cannot understand why the male version doesn't have it.

Here's an idea, remake the damn thing completely. Delete the mess we have now and create a new one that functions properly.

It's a bug and for some reason just doesn't show on males. The Beats races have it the worst though because it doesn't show on either gender.

dont ask beth, theyre too busy making shiny graphic improvements/killcams to worry about stuff that doesnt work properly

instead you go to the mods section and check there, im pretty sure someone came up with something for it by now

unless you're on a console, then you're out of luck

Why would you need big fixes when you have Kinect support?

Nope. I've searched the corners of the internets and I haven't found a single one. I have no clue how to do it myself, ironically. :(

AFAIK, the reason the mask doesn't show on male characters is because it isn't possible to show any part of the player's face and not have the facial hair, if any, clip through the mask. As to why they didn't bother with special versions for the beast races, it was probably time constraints, and other reasons.

Don't care, They allow kajiits to wear hoods and you can see their ears sticking up, so why can't I have an orc with the mask sticking out a little? My Breton has a small stubble but that's not getting in the way of the mask. It's bullcrap. The masked version should stay masked.

What I've always wanted to know is, what is this dude doing the throat-slash wearing?

This same thread was posted earlier. I think the mask looks pathetic, and am glad that it is not included on male characters. The entire armour set looks like some medieval gimp suit.

A gimp suit?
There are two cowls for each, or there are supposed to be. One Is masked and the other is maskless. But if you don't wear them anyway. Then what difference does it make?

It would be great for them to fix it, however unlikely that is. It is one of the main reasons I don't use the DB armour.

None. It's just less erotic.

I don't use it because it looks ridiculous.

I was really looking forward to cold-climate inspired DB armor this go around. A little heavier and some fur linings. Something like this:

But alas, we got another weird skin-tight thing just like in Oblivion, except this time around it really does look like some kind of bdsn suit.

Ha! That sounds like something Colonel Kurtz would say.

And the gimp suit?

They could just remove the beard when you wear the mask. They do that with certain hairstyles whenever you wear a helmet so your braids wont clip through. It's a simple solution.
