Will you restart with WW?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2016 1:10 pm

Since the combination of Auto & WW will basically change the entire game, and how settlements are structured, I plan to start the game from scratch when WW releases.

In my current playthrough I have all (except Mech's settlement.) settlements set up perfectly. Or at least my idea of perfect. ;)
But, with all the posibilities added from Auto (Like using bots for provisioners.), and then those being added with WW...it just seems like it will be easier, and more fun, to start over from scratch.

Anyone else planning this?

I was already preparing to restart for Automatron, but haven't even gotten round to that yet. So yes, I'm going to start from scratch.

I'm really tempted to start a new game already, but I want to hold out for the next DLC at least. Not sure I can wait much longer than that, or I'd hold out for Far Harbor too. I am seriously missing the Commonwealth... :nope:

Since Beth is doing beta for it on PC right now (Or this week, I think.), it should be released to all platforms around the same time WW is.

At least that is my personal guesstimate. :D

Short answer: yes.

Long: I'll be starting a new character when we get the survival overhaul, and that will be my first play through using any of the DLC. At the pace I play games like Fallout, it's entirely possible I will still be playing that character when the second round of DLC hits.

Wasteland Workshop won't impact the timing of my new games in the slightest, though I'm sure its content will be welcome by the time it gets here. I am currently waiting on the survival overhaul so that I can start my next game. I heard that Bethesda tweeted that the survival overhaul should go into Steam beta this week, and the last Steam beta started on a Monday, so I'm hoping we will see the beta tomorrow.

I'm back in Skyrim. I was thinking of getting into the survival beta next week but I'll probably just hold out until Far Harbor to start another character. Also I chose avocado because guacamole.

No, I don't use settlements enough for that to be remotely worth it. I have a small workshop style structure in one file and a huge junk tower in another, plus some stuff in Sanctuary so it can be used as a starch farm. Aside that I don't bother with settlements at all, leave them vanilla for settlers to rot in.

No I won't restart for WW. For Far Harbor I might restart. Depending on if it releases before Uncharted 4.

I sadly have to agree on this. I have been bored out of my mind with Fallout 4 already.

Its fun going back to Fallout NV and Skyrim though. This is why I want more story base DLC. To bring me back into the game.

I'm glad I got one of the good copies of the game, because this is nowhere near true for the game that's installed on my hard drive.

So why are you allowing it to live rent free in your head day in and day out? Your recent posts on these boards seem to imply that if nothing else, the game is dominating your thoughts and attention. When I get bored with something, I move on to something else which doesn't bore me. I certainly don't hang out in the boring products forums and talk about it all day.

fallout 4 has a lot going on but not with the types of things you like in a game apparently, its a combat oriented game, so for people into combat there's lots of good locations for tactical options, there's a decent variety of enemies, a lot of nooks and crannies good for sniping, laying mines, you can specialize your character and play differently on different playthroughs, you can build settlments and equip all your settlers, there's plenty to do, but a fallout game isn't for everyone, so i guess you'll be leaving the forum, i wish you the best, hopefully the next game you play will keep your interest longer.

I want story DLC. This game is lacking that. Very surprise how the people in this forum love the new DLC while the majority hate it outside the forum.

I join this forum to get new information on DLC faster. Forums usually debunk everything before anyone else.

Not gonna restart even for Far Harbour, so. My character will wait till May since there's nothing else left to do.

I've restarted twice since auto. Restated a dozen times before auto. Will most likely restart again... I think I have commitment issues...

No, I don't think so. I've re-started 6 times now and I don't think I have it in me to do it another time. Plus my laptop fans (or something) are broken and I can't play my any of my current characters until I get it fixed. I do have one character on the Xbox One but I don't think I want to start a new one.

If you don't mind me asking, how does WW change the entire game in the way settlements are structured?

I don't think I'd want to start a new character though. I put lots of work into my walking god of the wastes.

I restarted a couple weeks before Auto. I'm purposely going slow on building stuff until WW comes out--I haven't scrapped any houses or cars at Sanctuary. This character is definitely non-combat oriented, but now with Ada and her minigun that is less of an issue.

Wasteland Workshop won't change the game much. It will give you new things to build, and will allow you to trap things from the wasteland and pit them against one another in your own arena. About the only use I'll have for it is I'll be able to make Curie that ulimate lab of scientific goodness with plenty of creatures for her to study. I'm much more excited about the pending survival overhaul than I am Workshop.

Not with WW, can't really think of a good build for that mode, unless Bethesda surprises me (I already have a settlement builder build).

I will try out a new build with survival mode though. I'm pretty sure its going to be lame meter-maiding update so I will have to RP. Maybe a desperate drifter scrapping by on sneak melee, pipe weapons and canniblism.
