Wispmother=Female snow Elf?

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 12:26 pm

Allright, so I managed to trap down this wispmother with pacify. Once it stopped attacking with ice shards I began to approach it....
I saw that she had pointed ears indicating that she was indeed a mer.
I also noticed that it's teeth were some what crooked if not jagged... A trait only today's Falmer carry.

In addition, I took note of her skin color. It was pale, with a blue-greenish hue (which probably came with the necromancy).
The only other race of mer that share this pale skin trait are the Dunmer... Rarely did I see completely pale Dunmer but, it was still a plausible possibility.

So, I began to come under the conlusion that the wispmother is either an undead Dunmer or a Falmer Snow Elf until.... I noticed something odd about it... It had claws, which is something even vampiric Dunmer lack. And it just so happens that the Falmer that we see in these dwemer ruins have clawed hands and feet... An adaptation? I think not... Remember? The Dwarves poisoned them with these mushrooms. Causing them to become blind and develop a gollum-like hunch. The only possible role evolution had was their increased sense of smell and hearing.. Or perhaps the clawed hands and feet came from a lack of nail clippers and up keep? I don't know...

So what do you think? Are these Wispmothers the hidden remamemts of the ancient Snow Elves? Or are they simply lost spirits from oblivion? Also, Do think this is some secret part of the Dawngaurd Dlc?

EDIT: (Please, if you skip anything really try not to skip reading this!)

Also, another really interesting theory just hit me like a brick... Ok, so if you looked into that whole elderscrolls online announcement you'd know that Bethesda intends on integrating multiplayer in some sort of fashion. Awesome right? Well it gets better, another very interesting comment I caught was that the plot behind the next TES will take us to a time before the oblivion crisis.....

Yeah? So....

Don't you realize it? This opens a HUGE window of opportunity for Bethesda to start from scratch again.

That means this whole "TES online" scheme could be Bethesda's secret way of re-introducing the elusive Dwemer and restoring the Falmer to their much more nobel title of Snow Elf! It's the perfect way of adding two more races to our character board!

Thoughts?!?!?

Another thing I noticed was that they almost always rise up from underground... Where Falmer and charus dwell. There is also a wispmother located within black reach as well. Which in turn means Falmer and wispmothers share the same faction (otherwise they'd attack each other)... Coincidence? I think not..

I found this on UESP:
"Some say they are ghosts, waiting to be laid to rest. Others, that they are all that remains of the Snow Elves who once ruled Skyrim. Some say they are native to Hjaalmarch (or the north more generally), but other tales mention them in forgotten places, on mountaintops as far away as the Jeralls."

Read the rest for the full story.

They also have a nice rack. Another feature of elves I have noticed, especially Altmer.

I can't remember her name but earlier today I was talking to the High Elf in Rorikstead and I started thinking "this snooty little B is starting to turn me on"

I think the Wisp Mothers might be Falmer women condemned by thier own race for consorting with humans. The "Wisps" could be the spirits of the children they had with the human father, or the spirits of those responsible for the "creation" of the Wisp Mother who have been trapped by her spirit to serve her in undeath.
They could be the Daughters of Fryssa and Shor.<--- This is a guess, I hated Frysse Hags in Bloodmoon.

I'll have to "tfc 1" the next time I see one so I can get a better look. Interesting find.

while most of your "evidence" is pretty flimsy and could be interpreted in many different ways, there's nothing to definitively contradict or confirm your theory, and as far as theories go I have heard far worse.

That's actually really interesting. So if the DLC is to do with the snow elves, then we may find out the hows and whys behind the wispmothers? That would be sweet...

I think it is possible that the wispmothers are the spirits of falmer from an earlier era, much like the dwemer specters in Morrowind are, well, dwemer.

The wisps are no spirits of children or their creators, but of the opponents the wispmother attacked and killed. There's a quest somewhere with bandits going after some blade on a grave, during which you can see one bandit grab the blade, a wispmother pops up and two bandits die and turn into wisps. If you put the blade back on the grave, the wisp mother vanishes, and your journal mentions she's resting in peace because of your action. So the wispmother is definitely a ghost of a dead person, very likely a female.

The Pale Lady is a beautiful creature. I wish I didn't have to kill her. I even returned the sword but she kept attacking me. Maybe cause I fought her off before looting the bandit's body.

Wish there was a way to have one as a companion/follower.

Actually, your quite wrong. They do in fact have pointed ears indicating that they are definitely mer. It is also a known fact that they do indeed have clawed fingers that are visible every time she raises her hands. The only "Fact" I stated that could have been misinterpreted were the "crooked teeth" though they are indeed un-strait. Please, if your not going to add anything positive to this discussion then stay out of it.

Was this a part of the patch? I never noticed two bandits. Only ra'jiir.

I tried with all my power to kill the Pale lady before she killed Ra'jirr. I wanted to save him because there's like no Khajiit in the game already in which most of them either die or have no important role at all :|
I saved him, although he's kind of Hostile to me, I will find a way for him to stop attacking me :D

probably hostile cause he is a bandit after all and they all are programmed to attack you in the place.

How did you manage to save him? He's dead very quickly and is a bit of a way from your character. It must have taken a bit of doing.

I saw a wisp emerging from the bandit leader located at the beginning of the room (he mumbles a bit), and it was only after following it around a corner that I could see Ra'Jiir taking the blade.

No, on the UESP it says you can save him, but he'll get hostile anyway. Maybe a Calm spell could work 'though, I don't know, my present character isn't so much into charity for bandits.

me wrong? show me DEFINITIVE EVIDENCE that 100% supports your claim.

mer have pointed ears, does that mean that nobody else is allowed to have pointed ears? true it's a common trait amongst mer, so is skin, and eyes, and appendages, that doesn't mean that all creatures that display these traits are mer.

many creatures have claws, this trait again is not specific to the snow elves or mer in general.

as you say, crooked teeth isn't any sort of proof at all.

your observations are indeed fact, but your conclusions are 100% speculation and theory, and I find it silly that you would treat it otherwise.

^ I don't think he did treat it as anything other than speculation and theory.

He presented his theory, he presented the evidence that allowed him to come to that conclusion, and he asked if people agreed or had other theories.
