Use the time you would have spent gaming to teach yourself a new skill. Learn a new language, write short stories, anything creative or productive.

That's what I meant to suggest with the course thing. I managed to learn a teeny bit of Japanese through anime and interwebs so I guess that kinda counts?

...Is it really easy to get a job suddenly? Cause everyone who says that makes it sound easy! :|

I would say its not easy, haha

I've must have applied to between 20-30 job postings in the past few weeks with absolutely nothing in reply

This one manager even said she would e-mail me information for a job (website didn't have it), and didn't even do that!

I think you have a perfect opportunity to take up a new hobby or learn something new. Maybe even get a summer job to earn you a bit of money?

Is there anything you've ever wanted to know more about? A particular period of history, the mysteries of space, the art of gardening?
A skill you'd like to learn? Servicing a car, computer coding, playing badminton?

There's plenty of things to do, if you just look around.

That's pretty harsh, bro, but I think you're taking the title too seriously. It's understandable that you might be sensitive about this stuff though.

Overreaction on my BGSF? Nooooooooo

If you like HOTD, you'd like Angel Beats. These days I'm totally off action though. Much prefer stuff like Clannad, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Kanon, Air, Lucky Star, Danshi Koukousei No Nichijou and Spice and Wolf.

I highly recommend all of them, but they're not action packed. Mainly comedy/drama.

Everything but Danshi Koukousei No Nichijou I've watched and loved! Good taste in anime! Edit: I'm a sissy tho, I cried at the end of Angel Beats. So much for being a 30 yr old Mountain Man!

Better than me. I wept like a girl on several occasions in Clannad and Kanon. :( Not far enough into Air for a story arc to take it's twist like in the other two Key productions, but I'll probably cry in that too. Almost cried during the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (the movie). Strangely, Angel Beats didn't make me shed a single tear...

I swear im the only one on these forums who likes Naruto(Naruto Shippuden is much better imo) and Bleach...granted it is more for the action but meh.

If the OP enjoyed the animes listed by other people i think some mandatory recommendations are in order.

Cowboy Bebop.
Death Note.
Anything by Miyazaki.(movies)
Trinity Blood.
Blood+.
Trigun!!
Rurouni Kenshi AKA Samurai X.
Yu Yu Hakusho(I was a teenager when i watched it so idk how great it will be now)

The thing most of these have in common is action. However some are not actiony and imo they all have good stories with emotive moments.

I'm not a huge fan of anime in general. I did enjoy Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Paranoia Agent, Fullmetal Alchemist. Darker Than Black was ok, and FLCL is very strange, but interesting.

One word: Fillers. :P

I don't know about others, but I like animes that are, let's say, 50 episodes or under. When it goes beyond that, it just becomes a soap opera. When I was a kid I used to watch DBZ, Pokemon, Digimon, and all the usual stuff that came on Toonami, but I was younger and more accepting. Now I prefer the short and sweet stuff. Though at the end of some of them I wish they had a hundred more episodes, but it's probably better they don't.

I like it, loved it for years (manga though-anime has too much filler). There are so many great animes out there to watch if you want to kill time. Does come down to your taste though.

You know you could always take up a sport if your that bored, like start jogging it can be quite relaxing for some. I personally like to take late night walks and listen to sad music, helps me think.

One word: Fillers.

Oh the filler! The filler! :yuck: Wouldn't bother me if they actually thought of good arcs to write.

I'm usually not a fan of long running anime series, too much effort. Some of my favorite series are 12 or 25 episodes and only have 1 season. I love watching those series I know i'll never forget. Eden of the East for example, love it!

Ahh, i came to the Naruto Bleach scene kind of late so fillers have been pretty bearable for me. Bleach had some good ones like the Muramasa or was it Masamune(?) guy as an enemy where all the Zanpaktou rebeled. However the fillers can be pretty damn annoying sometimes.

I alao second Samurai Champloo and Fullmetal Alchemist.

Is the new interpretation of Full Metal Alchemist worth watching if i already saw the entire normal one? The new thing with alchehestry or something and some new guy in yellow. Watched it once, was hyped and then realized it was pretty much the same story...

Sorry about derailment lol.

It was the ending for me ^^ I came pretty close in Clannad a few times tho.
