Worst Ways of Dying in Fallout 3!

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 9:35 am

Hey guys, this Vercun bringing you another hopefully successful thread! In this thread you will tell me what category you voted (Working on it)in and how it was your "worst death". What I mean by "worst death" is this:

Did you die in a weird position?

Did your corpse spaz out or explode in blood?

Did you accidentally soil yourself because you weren't expecting it?

Did you question how it happened besides obvious reasons such as dying of rads?

Was it humiliating?

And so on...

If you don't want to answer any of these then just tell me the context of the death and etc...

Car explosion, followed closely by traps.

The cars usually explode only to remind me that I haven't saved in a while.

I was trying to find Pinkerton and just walked into the room with the shotgun traps. I managed to not see them on the way in and missed the pressure pad. The mine got me, but didn't kill me. On my way out I hit the pad. That didn't kill me either. Then I saw some Mirelurks and shot at them... to be killed in a giant fiery explosion by the gas.

And my last save was half a level ago.

Rads I didnt notice the sign by vault 87, I ran in saw how many rads I was geting turned to run out but died before I got back, I felt like an idiot.
Another one was Fighting in rivet city only to turn around and see a gaurd with a FAT MAN, also equiping them with plasma/laser weps and tesla armour is a bad idea.

I think my worst death was going into the purifier, I thought Charon was supposed to obey the holder of his contract without question...

As I assume you want gameplay deaths my absolute worst one is not on the list. After a good long time of wandering the wastes on my first playthrough before I became so disillusioned, I stumbled into an area where the rads were ticking up in double figures per second, obviously I panicked and tried to backpedal out of there but the rads surged up over 50/sec, needless to say I died and then realised I hadn't saved for a good long time.

Never did find that area again though.

It was very humiliating for me, I was going through Germantown HQ, and I just offed the first two Supermutants, and I was walking slow, watching out for traps on the floor, somehow, I still dont know how, I managed to completely overlook the decent sized disk on the ground, and almost jumped out of my seat as the shotgun trap promptly disconnected my head from my body, I thought it was a little funny too

So..traps it is

didn't spot it first time through, it's late. vote added.

Another favourite "lol I died" moment involves taking a jump off the Rivet City bridge, I didn't realise until after my legs burst through my collar bones that the water wasn't deep enough to cushion my fall.

Because of the ants I leave that quest until I get a3-21 plasma rifle because they take quite a bit of damage and deal alot, I was so desperate I ran in the shelter with bryan, I couldnt fast travel I had to leave eventualy, the ants knew that, they were waiting. :flamethrower: :ahhh:

Well i was video taping myself playing fallout 3 and a behemoth popped out. he bashed me and i ran. I wastelander popped out of no where and i heard a very unusual sound coming from her. i was like ok so i walk up to her and was going to talk to her but couldnt cuz she was shooting at the behemoth. well that tick was a bomb and i was so close to her that i got blown up too. The funniest thing happend to the behemoth on the next save. I brought him down to the last arrow and i started running cuz i ran out of stimpacks. I run towards a protectron and it shoots the behemoth. The poor behemoth turns into a pile of ash. i wish i still had the video.

My most humiliating death was at the hands of a radroach. I had barely managed to kill two mirelurks near the Anchorage Memorial, when a radroach came up from behind and killed me with one swift strike. I should probably reload the combat shotgun after I save.

I can't stand falling. It's never happened on accident, like me forgetting where I was while fighting and going over. But rather me being lazy and refusing to walk around rock formations with a drop. What pisses me off the most is that the ones that kill me are tiny drops. I always walk around a little bit to a lower point if the drop is to much. But i'll go ahead and take a drop that is high enough to hurt and then use a couple of my 200+ stimpacks. But when I take a drop, say, 25-30 feet and it only hurts a little, and then I take another drop later that's only 12-16 feet or so and I friggin die. WTF?!? :banghead:
