I would appreciate if they toned down attacks on your house.

I just had a dragon attack yesterday. Then Camilla (as stupid as I have ever seen her), came out and started helping me fight it, while getting burned alive. Then, even more stupid, she jumped right in front of me as I shot a arrow at the dragon and I killed her by accident. Theres something called staying in the house if your not going to help, lol. Thank goodness for previous saves....

Is there any NPC out there who behave in a logical way? Sometimes it makes for hillarious moments, other times, not quite so :P

I've only seen 2 giants (One only came and said hi than left giving me no trouble), 1 little bandit group, and the respawning necromancers (Which never come to my house..just my nice view). I was hoping for more attacks honestly...

Can you hire guards or something? Or if you're a Conjurer get Daedra to guard the place?

Not as far as I know. The thing is not that I can't handle the attacks. It's just that it is getting a nuisance. I do not know why I would be plagued by so many attacks. Others peoples seems to be doing just fine.

Not sure if this has been brought up so please bare with me: can bandits actually get into your house? That is to say: if you walk there or fast travel and go inside, will they ever be inside?

I agree with the OP. Judging from the polls, I'm in the minority. But an option to adjust the frequency of random attacks (for those who want it) would be very welcome. My enjoyment of Skyrim increased exponentially once I decided not to start the main quest - this despite the trade-off of not being able to encounter any Dragons at all, or talk to the Jarl in Whiterun, which closes off Lydia as a companion, etc... But each new DLC seems determined to force the game back in that direction.

I downloaded Hearthfire friday night, have all 3 of my houses built, moved my family into the one by Falkreath, and so far i've only had 1 bandit raid, and 1 skeever problem. No dragons, no giants no nothing. I just started Dawnguard last night, and haven't experienced anymore attacks than normal. I keep comming back home expecting some sort of something to happen, and nothing. Maybe i just need to play longer.

I only had one bandit attack while my house was being built and one wolf pack attack. Since then, nothing...

It gets rather annoying as far as I am concerned.

I actually really like it. Its why I plan on starting another toon. What better way to get a non-glitch/cheating way to kick start a game than to get lots of lots of Dragon attacks right at your front door. Plus, with smelter and smithy right there, can get my smithing up very quickly and also make and sell jewlery which is what I usually do to make money quickly in game.

Whenever I start I new game I ignore the main quest too. I have fun at being "not dragonborn"

The human enemies never spawn in the house, but I suppose like the vampire attacks, you do nothing and run inside, it is possible they could follow you. Only the skeevers appear in the house and they probably cannot get out of the cellar.

I suppose that's what you get for opting to live in the wild, as opposed the to relative safety of a walled city.

This.
Game is much more enjoyable without having to go "****, another dragon!" every twelve minutes.

I think I've drawn a correlation on my game; the day after I bought a cow, I had a giant attack. It killed the cow and I decided to not buy another one. I then went AGES without another attack of any kind (well, I did get one skeever infestation I suppose, but thats so minor its not worth moaning about). Then I eventually adopted a son and made my way back to the house to find a bandit attack. Nothing since then. I think some people are just getting a DG style vamp attack bug, if the devs had wanted attacks 'every 5 minutes' then we'd ALL be getting them. Mine seem tied to house upgrades and have been very few and far between.

On top pf the fact that these are not the EXPANSIONS we were promised. Just more Horse Armor sized junk DLCs IMHO. Slowly Elder Scrolls is dying out in my heart and not worth playing anymore. Sad because when I fell in love with the series, I thought it was going to go on for along time. Not have it torn apart at the hands of incompetent Devs.

DG and HF are in no way comparable to horse armour, IMO thats a ridiculous comparison. Also, we were never promised expansions. The only thing said that included the word 'expansion' was that we would get 'DLCS that FELT LIKE expansions.' Two very important words there. More to the point, if they are making an expansion thats going to be the big feature DLC for this game, they wouldn't release it remotely this early, it will be kept very much under wraps, and they wouldn't want it tied into the MS deal. That particular DLC release must have zero hiccups, even if it means keeping EVERYONE in the dark. Thats my uneducated take on the matter anyways.

Agreed. You have the choice of six very nice, pre-built homes in walled cities. You can move your spouse & kids into five of them. Life in the country has its risks.

I personally welcome the attacks... I normally play 'live and let live' (kill only in war or defense, back off when told to, use speech, etc), so I don't get quite as much combat as I like. But anyone attacks my home (in Skyrim or IRL), I'll do what I have to.

Hmm. Twice by bandits (granted the first time was because I picked a Bandit Marauders pocket...wait, how'd he hire them after I keeled him?), once by wolves, and once by a lone Master Vampire that charged me, then veered off and behind my house to attack a deer.
Brave valiant deer. You will be missed.
Or not, for your head is on my wall now. :ermm:

My Mom is having this problem though. She called and said another Giant was at her house in Morthal, among other things (a spider I believe).

My personal question, is can and will the enemies you meet go inside your home, or will they just come at and attack you outside of it?

Wait, what? Your mother plays Skyrim? I nominate her for 'coolest mum of the year'. Wish mine played TES... :(

From watching the threads here, I've only seen reports of enemies being inside the house if a) they are skeevers in your basemant; or, b ) they are kidnapping your spouse. I haven't had either of those two happen yet (my family is in Riften), or any other indoor events, but have had plenty going on outside.

BTW Skyrim Moms: We are everywhere!

Worked well with both my mom and dad who told me all my life videogames were evil (I'm 37 now)

1-Get them an Ipad
2-Install the Smurf Village App
3-Once they are addicted make them realize that leveling up a smurf village is pretty much the same as leveling up a character in an RPG.

I've only had 3 attacks. First came a dragon, then bandits, and skeevers. Now, nothing. Quite peaceful actually.

why can't we just play the game and not have to worry about our homes getting attacked? why do we have to micromanage cities constantly protecting them from stuff now our homes, it's not fun why can't we just build a home and not have to worry about it? you're just giving me a reason to not spend any money on it
