My Xbox freezes

Post » Sun Feb 03, 2013 9:39 pm

I'm getting the same thing.

My system labeled "XBox 360-S" (I assume that this is a slimline ??)
Purchased new in June of this year.
Unit is well ventilated (sitting in the open, away from heat or sunlight)
250GB drive w/200+GB free space.
Skyrim, Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn installed on hard drive.
Latest XBox patch, Latest Skyrim patch.

I played skyrim the days before the Dragonborn DLC.
It ran super stable.
Before the DLC, I had yet to have a single freeze.
Skyrim has been rock-solid up until now.

After the latest Skyrim patch was installed, but before installing the DB DLC, I noticed that the game looked a little different. The night skies weren't as dark and I could swear that the textures looked a little different. The resolution (appeared) a little lower (fuzzier, softer) (??).

DB freezes at random times. I turned off the timed autosave, Now it just saves on wait, sleep and travel.
None of the freezes happen during these times. Freeze happens only when I'm moving. Usually when outside moving over terrain, but occasionally inside a cave or building, but always when moving.
occasionally it freezes when standing still but rotating to look behind me.

I love the content and all of the new stuff, but if I can't keep it stable, I'll uninstall it untill the next patch comes out. That would svck. Everything about the DLC is totally fun (except for the freezes)

PS:
No, I don't want my money back (LOL)

It seems to be a common problem for all the latest models of Xbox. I have a xbox 360 arcade and Dragonborn is not freezing at all. I hope we get a patch soon. Twice I have seen walls disappearing.

Yeah.. same here.
It's happened a few times. Enter a cave and the roof is a big blue polygon. Exiting and re-entering fixes it but still ....
Dawnguard, I fell through the floor. The floor was a big blue polygon. I'm seeing a patern here.

I flushed the cache and reinstalled the game and all DLC. Same thing. Maybe worse. I'm reformatting the drive as we speak and will not be reinstallind the DB DLC. That's a shame, it was fun up to a point.

Good idea, bad implimentation. Not mad, just dissapointed.

I have no idea how these work. Everything in freezing or crashing is not happening to me. I get a 5-10 second pause when entering Solstheim from Skyrim or Apocrypha and vice versa.

But first, did you guys make a new save after downloading Dragonborn? I did that.
