You can not re-roll your character....

@DCDeacon Will you be able to tweak your race/name/appearance at the end of the intro to Skyrim like in Oblivion and FO:3? Please respond.

@FangMaGuoLai No. Make sure you do it right the first time.

This bothers me alot... I remember in FNV I wanted to change starting perks ... After I spend 3 hours playing at the beginning... Then after walking out of the zone I could still change it

Well, considering that the main point of that is to change your class (which isn't in Skyrim) or your birthsign (which you'd decide later via guardian stones), this makes sense. Also, most RPG's don't give you a second chance to change your character around.

Well in this case it's nothing more than Aesthetics. In regards to perks, you can not respec.

Not a problem for me, but then again I'm probably the only person who actually enjoyed playing the Oblivion tutorial dungeon.

Welp, I'll be making use of the "showracemenu" or whatever it's called now. Feel a wee bit bad for the console users though.

Why would you need to? You aren't doing anything but changing how your character looks. Since there are no classes, attributes or birth signs you just play how you want. There is no need to change later.

Some of us will be able to do it.

Console key: showracemenu (or whatever the equivalent command will be)

EDIT: Sorry ThatOneNwah you beat me to it.

I was never under the impression we would be able to, so this doesn't come as a disappointment.

For those of use who play multiple characters, that's a little of a bummer.

The lighting in the Oblivion CC screen svcked, so I expect they did a better job this time.

I was asking because there was a thread about this yesterday. But the need to tweak may come up for some people... like when I played FO:3 for example. I had my dude looking good the first time... but once I actually was in the game and saw him I noticed somethings were just off and I fixed those things.

Concerning character creation:
Spoiler
From what's been seen, it's done in a nice, well lit area. Something I was concerned about and it's a big improvement imo! :)

As others have said, it's only really an aesthetic thing so that doesn't bother me. However it would be nice if you could skip the starting part like you were able to in OB by just keeping a save at the mouth of that cave before you enter Cyrodil, and just switch up each character before you leave. But that's a small gripe.

Hmm, this needed to be kept in the general section, not many will come to the spoiler section for obvious reasons.

Unfortunatly this is what you get when they start removing things. Other things that pertain to it get removed as well, such as being able to fix your character after the training part of the game.

I agree but I won't question the mods in fear of bodily harm. :D

Well I never remembered to keep a save on Oblivion at the end of the tutorial so I always had to redo it, wont be any different this time then.

True. Guess I'll have to have my first character be a character I REALLY want to play as.

Spoiler
Also good is that character creation is being done outside in what appears to be sunny, clear-sky day.

At least the tutorial is epic.

I think a good idea would be to create a character you love and stick with him/her for a few months or years. When you're done, put him/her in a place he/she would likely be in, save and go make a new character. (Don't delete the old one. You may want to re-visit the old character again for old times sake.)
