Do you think Skyrim is rage inducing?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 10:25 am

Like for example, you go up a mountain takes you like 10 mins you die and oops the game reloads at like riverwood or some [censored]. Or you′re riding on horseback to a location and some bear or dragon appears and it′s like I DONT WANNA FIGHT RIGHT NOW. Or maybe some guy 1 hit kills you...yea you get my point
If you are mad for those reasons, it's your own fault. There's a save system and you are not using it as often as you should.

"Rageness" is all about the player, not the game. My brother will rage at ANY game.

Tamriel is a dangerous place. Save often.

I am trying to back pedal and I get stuck on a pebble.

^This, is probably the only thing that makes me boil inside while playing Skyrim.

I quicksave every 30 seconds. I don't really rage at TES games (or any for that matter). Main reason is that I play at such a slow pace I never get heated up about anything in the game. I always find it rather relaxing. The only games that make me annoyed are multiplayer games and thats is because they often focus on competing and aggression. I tend to avoid such horrible notions.

I'd rather it had these moments then be piss easy.

Yeah, if a game doesn't make me rage once, it's too easy.

Yeah it kind of is. Not knocking Bethesda but for crying out loud they never really seem to patch the game to the point where it removes a vast amount of the bugs and defects. Now I'm on the Thieves Guild Quest and in this particular part near the end the quest I'm getting a game killing lag. I hope it goes away when I restart my console but these kind of glitches never occurred until after the game was patched and that is really irritating when I'm just trying to enjoy the game I love so much.

I play on Novice myself, its more about the world and exploring than the fighting parts for me. I am not very good at games so on harder modes I start to suffer.

If you can I suggest you get it on PC. You get latest patches straight away and you also don't have to bother about lag and framerate drops.

That is why i save everywhere. I hate doing stuff twice, even if it is just 10 minutes.
i agree but then again in skyrim 10 minutes can level you up and then it may not level up that happen to me before and it was only 2 minutes i spend it 5 minutes to level up but i gotta say it was my fault ,lol. In my opinion i dont think it is!

Both me and my brother drool over the mods for the PC editions but our computers are out of date and we don't have the money right now to upgrade them else wise that would be an epic idea. I wish Sony and Microsoft would offer a better patching feature than they have so both us gamers and companies can benefit.

Not for me, I fnd the game extremely relaxing. Even playing on Master, which I have never changed. I have made a point with my first character to not fast travel, wait, or sleep (unless forced by a mission) for the entire game. I have spent hours just riding through the wilderness, admiring the scenery. I have spent half an hour climbing a mountain to fall down the other side because I rode my horse too fast, only to realise I forgot to save for 45 minutes. I just start all over again, no worries.

Yeah D: *gives you cookie*

Microsoft and Sony are terrible at passing the patches onto consoles. I used to play Skyrim on 360 (got the CE and everything) but i use a laptop now and I just find it runs much smoother. Not sure about the ps3 though. Would be nice to see consoles being able to use mods but Microsoft and Sony are very against that sort of thing for some reason.

Well, i started playing games back in the 80's. Back then finishing a came was an accomplishment, and that's the way i like them :hehe:

Not much such games around anymore, but i'll always have classic Doom and it's many near-impossible megawads ^_^

I love how much less rage Skyrim makes me have than other games.

Games like Halo drive me insane.

Not even close. Skyrim is the game I play when I don't want any possible hints of rage at all. Battlefield 3 on the other hand...

If Dragons keep turning up I'll be a little perturbed, but I won't rage. I'll just run away.

The only rage-inducing thing about Skyrim is the number of Beta threads being birthed out of a lack of forum-searching.

I can rage in other games, but Skyrim... not so much. Perhaps if I die in the same way many times in a row (fire weakness as a vampire against dragons can be a pain sometimes!) but otherwise... not really.
