Do you think Skyrim is rage inducing?

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 12:50 am

Like for example, you go up a mountain takes you like 10 mins you die and oops the game reloads at like riverwood or some [censored]. Or you′re riding on horseback to a location and some bear or dragon appears and it′s like I DONT WANNA FIGHT RIGHT NOW. Or maybe some guy 1 hit kills you...yea you get my point

Any game with the potential of failure can be rage inducing, it depends on who you are and how tolerant you are.

Depends... Personally I believe if any of those make you angry the first time they happen then you need to seek some anger management courses but if it happens 3 or 4 times somehow I could imagine getting a little annoyed.

Not at all! I find the game very fun and yet challenging at the same time:

A battle with a modded dragon, who has tons of health, dangerous attacks, yet is still beatable! And whats more, they have dropped loot that I can use! One Necrodragon even dropped a Spelltome of Divine Intervention (mod, again). Best reward ever

Or cleansing a dungeon of the undead denizens that lurk within. A few swipes of my holy sword, and they are exploding in sacred light! Be it vampires, draugr, raised dead, etc

Or stumbling onto a battle consisting of Imperial/Stormcloak soldiers and Thalmor lackeys. Using my Thu'um, I decimate the battlefield, and rout the rest of the Dominion on horseback.

Skyrim is very fun indeed!

Not really, not for me anyway, unless I get killed and I haven't saved in a long time.

Skyrim, and the other Elder Scrolls games, are LEAST rageful games I know.
I guess it could be frustrating if you die and haven't saved in a while. I usually save a lot though. Mostly I just Rest then cancel it, or rest for an hour, or 'till daylight, then continue on my journey.

The most frustrating thing I've found in Skyrim, is the fact that dragon's will sometimes eat me :(
But its such a cool thing, it doesn't bug me too much, lol.

The only thing that makes me rage is when I'm playing multiple enemies and my game starts to bug out and I'm swinging away making contact but not dealing any damage or I am trying to back pedal and I get stuck on a pebble.

The ONLY GAME I've ever actually "raged" at is Gears of War 3, because when you've played Gears for as long as I have you sort of get used to the whole gnasher/wallbouncing stuff and playing Gears3 is a totally different experience from 2, I sort of cannot take it when I get sawed-off or lancered from across the map and get executed lol.

Skyrim game sessions are some of the most relaxing for me in gaming and no matter how many times I die I've never actually gotten much upset about it, the way I see it is there are so many ways to go about getting around something you can't beat, or you can keep trying until you get it right and I've never ever gotten angry at Skyrim.

Having no online prevents a large amount of rage.

The only thing I get mad at is when I die without saving it in a while, as soon as the game reloads and I enter my inventory it auto-saves immediately ( have it set to auto save every 10 minutes in inventory)

That is why i save everywhere. I hate doing stuff twice, even if it is just 10 minutes.

I can save anywhere, and even if I forget it was fun doing it the first time so I will usually do exactly the same thing again and try not to get killed. No I do not find Skyrim frustrating at all, for me, it is more addictive than any other though, which could become a problem.

I wouldn't say the game is rage inducing... sure, there are parts when the game can annoy you, but almost all games have moments like that.

Personally, I never found many parts to be annoying. With animals, like wolves and bears, I either kill them to help level up my skills if I started a new character, or run away from them (or use a Shout and kill them in seconds).

For Dragons, I liked them, since there is a reason to kill them, so it's not a waste of time. After all, you do get their soul which can unlock the Shouts. That's always useful.

But we are all entitled to our opinions. :disguise:

no you go for anger management if you can't control your anger for a period of 3 consecutive months or more

dying and getting an auto-save from an hour ago is always rage inducing

If you experience this kind of symptom, it's probably because you need rest. :)

The only thing I can think of that can come close to "rage inducing" is dying and losing 20 minutes of progress, but that's just mildly irritating. Mainly some things just annoy me in this game but overall it's definitely one of the more relaxing and exciting games I've played.
Getting in a rough spot on Battlefield 3 or playing with a terrible squad in Mass Effect 3 is much more frustrating than anything that can happen in this game, aside from losing hundreds or hours of progress, which hasn't happened yet to me.
No online sure helps.

The thing that enrages me is getting stunlocked, and that doesn't happen in Skyrim. It occasionally did in Oblivion.

Raged out as in kicking something across the room or as in cursing the game designers to seven levels of hell;)? If it's the first then no. As some one posted earlier it may be you're enjoying the game so much that you're playing too long and getting worn out. Take a break, get some sleep and come back later.

Oh, and if you think dragons are annoying steer clear of Morrowind. (Cliff Racers :swear:).

I don't rage at 1 hit kills, when i'm taking on armies over and over again, the occasional enemy wiping me out in a hit or two gives me a memento mori moment.
However when you playing a dead is dead character at lvl 35 and go in Kagrenzel, and die..well i wasn't too happy... apart from the laughing
