Do you think Skyrim will be delayed?

Considering the Fallout games, I would not be surprised if Bethesda ships out blank discs and promises a comprehensive patch to fill in the gaps in a couple months.

The first we EVER heard about a release date was 11/11/11.

There was never a "Fall 2011".

That, combined with it being less than a year away, makes me think they know it's coming out then.

I dont think so, just because Hines said he wouldnt talk about the new project till almost completion, and the news is they are already bringing in the voice actors, so I think it must be just a question of polish and voice/music, with enough time left over for a major change ( addition /deletion ) or 3 if needed, especially since it is a new engine.

I don't think that they will delay it, mainly considering that they must have felt it was ready enough to announce, and to also give it a release date that is less than a year away.

Todd and Pete seem pretty close as fas as things go, so I dont think there gonna screw over the game desisngers with a hard to make day If they werent sure they could do it. Also Todd had said awhile back that he was ready to show the game, so I think Beth is gonna be sitting on some disks for a while waiting to distribute them. I don't think theyd make such a definate date if there was any chance they couldn't make it theres a big diffrence from " 11/11/11" and forth "last quater 2011". With that said remember Murphys Law.

Yeah. If they want the coveted RPG GotY, they'll wait 'till after Uncharted 3, Dragon Age 2, Witcher 2, and Mass Effect 3.

I'd rather have the game postponed than released buggy as hell.

I'd rather have wishy-washy release dates until the game is in print for that exact reason. I hate how devs get stuck in this mantra of "release on time" that sometimes happen. Devs need and deserve more leeway than that.

Alas, life is rarely that simple. The best laid plans can be scuppered by something unexpected happening and then you end up with delays. Still hopeful that it will be released on time though.

Yeah, something unexpected... or Call of Duty, which seems to send games running into January pretty often now. (Looks around for Two Worlds 2... )

Many people do not seem to realize it yet, but what if Bethesda has already begun the final stages, QA, testing etc. Pete seemed VERY sure about the game when he announced it. I would not be surprised if they finished the game early and it was relatively bug-free.

Slim chance this gets delayed. The release date is deliberate and they have been working on this game quietly this time and waiting until it was nearly done to announce it. In the past they would announce the game years in advance and would continually issue tentative release dates along the way. Well, they have learned from this and now handle things internally and only make announcements for absolutes.

I just don't see a delay happening here.

I doubt it will be delayed. Beth will still send the game out on that date no matter what and patch whatever needs to be fixed.

Considering past experiences, I'd tend towards delayed.

But then again, after considering the past experiences, and ?learning from them Bethesda?, I think it will be announced on time. And also the fact that they seem to have pretty much integrated the number 11 in everything about the release so far, I'd expect it to be announced on time :)

I hope it isn;t, but won't complain of anything except anticipation if it is. If they feel it needs to be, I would rather they take the time they need to release a great product.
