Do you WANT this game to succeed?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 3:34 pm

There is the question whether you like the game or don't like the game, the question is would you actually like this game to succeed?

Personally I hope this game flops so the world can learn you can't destroy a game series identity to make a cash svckling MMO.

I have to see more of it, if it looks awesome then yes I do, if it looks like utter crap I want it to fly for a while and then crash into the ground as if it was Icarus himself.

I cannot actually decide.

I would like to play this game, for it has potential to be entertaining but I still have some degree of hatred against TESO. And I'd also like to show the game indurstry that not all is acceptable, money squeezing ect. But I cannot be sure if that yet applies to TESO.

Yes, doesnt mater if I going to like it or not. I think that a falilure could be dangerous for Zenimax and Bethesda.

If it succeeds and makes big $$$ then I fear what will happen to the series... better Elder Scrolls die an innovative single-player RPG than pull a World Of Warcraft and destroy it's series.

Yes of course we do, what an absurd question, its going to be a TES game no matter if you like how they make it or not and saying you want it to fail would be like saying you wanted Skyrim to fail cause it was much different than the previous TES games.

Great news, when the official forums go live i won't have to read any of your negative threads/posts,as a matter of fact, why are you actually on these forums now.

^ Sadly agree

I'd hate to see TES effected by this games reputation. Hopefully gameplay videos may redeem it in my mind, but I am not hopeful.

If it flops, they aren't going to learn to stop "cash svckling". It's naive to think they would. Every game they have brought out under the TES franchise has been for the purpose of making a profit.

If it turns out to do well, it will earn Zenimax a nice steady stream of income that will also be benificial for Bethesda Gaming Studios to be able put even more time and effort into the Fallout series and TES single player games.

Exactly. Look at Skyrim. They gutted and dumbed it down to cash in. Don't know why you'd be upset about an MMO to begin with.

Cool attitude. I'm pretty sure the guys at ZOS, for the most part, are big fans of the series and passionate gamers and they want to create something great. I think if you would calm down a little and wait for more information, you'll soon see that your accusation regarding their motives is baseless. I mean yes, of course Zenimax wants to make money, but I think the people actually doing the creating are not money grubbing devils.

Well, i'm going to be straight with you. I don't like the idea of this MMO so I come to the Elder Scrolls Online forums to [censored] about it and get all the other [censored]ers to agree with me so we can have a jolly good time simply [censored]ing. Happy?

If I just hate the fact that a series with no single-player of any kind (And was praised for it) has completely altered it's identity.

I forget where I read this but I agree with it completely

"It doesn't look like TES,
It doesn't play like TES,
It isn't TES".

I think people are upset because of a few things:
1. The design, when people imagine a TES MMO they probably think of a standard TES with multiplayer.
2. They worry about the single-player games (even though they shouldn't)
3. They feel that this is even more mainstreaming of the game.
4. They feel like the franchise is selling out.
Not my opinion, just what seems to be the general opinion of those that are negative.

I completely, 100% support this game so long as the series, the lore, and the gamers are respected. That includes decisions to change gameplay and mechanics as is necessary for an MMO. The moment they deviate from that, I can't respect them anymore.

I understand it must be changed to fit an MMO but who was asking for an MMO? I would fully support Drop in/out Co-Op.
