Do you wear dragon priest masks?

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 1:46 am

I am having trouble doing it. Mainly because I feel it will ruin the RP'ing for me.

I'm an altmer usually in Thalmor robes and wearing a circlet. Although the mask(s) would help my mage severely. I feel it just doesn't look right for a Thalmor Mage.

Anyone else feel like this?

I am currently playing an altmer mage, and wore the 100% magicka regen mask (morokei?), until I got the mage armor perk, at which time I became a pure cloth mage. Seems to be a better fit.

Ya, exactly what I have, and ya it is the Morokei. But I recently got NAHKRIIN which is 50+ magicka and 20% less to restoration and destruction.

i like wearing the one mask that increases your magicka regeneration by 100%

regarding rp, for some reason or another i like head gear that covers the face more often than those that do not.

i think it may have to do with the how they make the players head look unnaturally fat, example: the iron helm from oblivion.

I found two masks so far between my two in play characters. One wears them for the perks since he has no real 'style' and it helps with his thieving profession.

My heavy armored fighter just found a second, the perks are great.... he loses sleep at night wishing he could just disenchant it. Perks are good, would help with some things, just too out of character to use.

I used to wear Nahkariin, but it didn't do much damage or help at all for me.

So, for now. I am wearing absolutely no Dragon priest masks.
Although I have 6 of them.

a Thalmor Mage.

???

you can't be a Thalmor in this game, they hate you even if you are high or dark elf. They will never accept you as one of their own nor will anyone in Skyrim... so unless you want to just ignore npc reactions and simply play on your own imagination, i can't see pretending your character is a thalmor would be much fun. Unless i'm missing some hidden Join the Thalmor quest or something...

when i first started playing skyrim i wanted one of my character's to join the Thalmor but as i learned more about them and interacted with them, i changed my mind. They are all pompous, arrogant, and hateful. I enjoy slaughtering them now, not even in the name of Talos, but just bc they are douchebags

* oh and as for the Masks, hell yeah i wear them when they are useful. Most of them look decent enough too.

I guess OP is just roleplaying, but im pretty sure you can add yourself to the faction via console so that they are not hostile to you. As you say, there is no 'join the thalmor' quest.

I would wear them but ended up losing them after doing perhaps the most heroic/stupid/funniest thing with those masks,

Spoiler
After I collected all the masks I went to the Labyrinthian, then I placed all the masks on to the statues and transported into that room to get the final mask, well once I got it I decided to place it back on to the dragon statue and then instead of pressing E I pressed R and dropped the wooden mask, well needless to say that caused my character to automatically leave the room and lose all the masks forever! Now nobody could ever attempt to unleash the ultimate powers of the mask again. :D

I am curious, why do you feel wearing a dragon priest mask would ruin your roleplaying? The Thalmor are evil and those masks sure look evil.

Yes, I'm wearing Krosis, it's fitting to my character since I'm a "sneak-thief" and it's so much fun to direct an enemy to spot no where near me then pelt him with arrows.

My battlemage mainly wears Morokei for the magicka regen to go with his dragonscale boots/gauntlets and robes. When he feels like swimming, he dons Volsung so he can explore the depths.

Simply no. They just look silly, and I spend time making my characters look unique. No mask or helmet, maybe a circlet but that's all

I don't wear them either, OP. I tried one on and took it off. I have only found three or four, anyway. Doesn't matter when you don't wear them.

My Khajiit doesn't wear them. I don't like the way the hoods that come with the mask looks. They have some good enchantments though.

I wear the Volsung, you can permanently breathe under water, it adds 20 carry points and 20% off all prices. With my armor so high, it doesn't matter that I have a piece of light armor on. Not to mention every time you get hit, you level up in light armor while wearing heavy armor. Best of both worlds!

Only Volsung because of the lower prices.

If they weren't as ugly as hell... :(

Not to mention that's difficult to find some piece of clothing or armor that fits/has the same style
