Hey I just decided to make a fun thread out of pure boredom, it's kind of a forum game but not really. So if you were the High King of Skyrim, what would you do and how would you rule? Take over the Empire with the Thalmor? Make Skyrim an international province where all races are favoured? Sail around on a fancy ship like the Emperor?

Post away! Funny responses are encouraged, but it doesnt have to be. My current character being a Dunmer who faces much discrimination, I'd remove the Gray Quarter in Windhelm and allow dunmer to live wherever they want in the city. I'd also permit khajiits entering, I'm a peaceful ruler.

Hmm... I'd probably get shouted to death by a [censored] power-hungry traitor.

Team up with the Empire and after convincing the Redguards to help us, destroy the Aldmeri Dominion.

I'd make the country open for any race , I'll destroy the Stormcloaks and destroy the thalmor as well.
And I'll send troops to ALL of the Dwemer ruins in Skyrim and will make them as museums. [ These places are scaring me ]

Ally with the Thalmor and brutally oppress the Nords until they all go back to Atmora where they belong.

I have servants do everything for me, and clean up skyrim and make high hrothgar my home and graybeards live on a farm.

Sell Skyrim to whoever offers the most and then just retreat to a remote villa with Ysolda, blame the failures on my predecessor, and live comfortably for the rest of my life.

- Friendly ties with Empire and alliance, but stay independent.
- State atheism
- Corporatist economy (favoring of large corporations)
- Establish a conscripted army, both men and women of all races. Six month service is mandatory.
- Purge of all beasts and criminal organizations.
- Abolition of the Jarl system and replacing it with an elected Senate of 50 members

Probably secced from the Empire, but maintain a military alliance and make one with Hammerfell as well.

Being High King of Skyrim I would surly make the place a little warmer and install some beachside properties up north with palm trees. Oh and don't forget the Dragons. Make those little guys entertain my peoples with their shouty language!

If I was High King of Skyrim...

I would relocate the capital to High Hrothgar for starters and teach my people the ways of the voice.
Then races of all kinds would be welcomed to Skyrim, as long as they didn't bring war with them.

My third act would no doubt be to capture and re-educate falmer populations living within underground reaches.
Also- seizing of dwemer technology, giving magical understanding to the populace and permitting necromancer to an extent-
That is which so that the practioners do not disturb honoured dead, but rather try their magics on creature corpses or permitted excises.

Other than those, I'd no doubt try to crush any remaining imperial prescence within the province and try to persuade any unracist stormcloaks to my side.
After dealing with the province itself, I'd move to make political ties with orsinium and hammerfell. Hoping to squash High Rock from both sides.
Then to move onto making deals with dunmer / argonians, if successful - invade cyrodiil while hammerfell recovers from any serious losses.

If the Empire gains aid from the Thalmor to drive back my threat, then I'd look to Paarthurnax- hoping that he might sway a small league of dragons to my cause.
Who knows? a united dragon empire under a Dragonborn would be intriguing to see once more. But that is what I'd do at any rate, if I was the High King.

Step One: Become completely independent from the empire by any means necessary.
Step Two: Make known that I will not defend the empire should the Thalmor attack
Step Three: Build Up an insane force, supplement my heavy Nord Infantry with mercenary Bretens on the front lines.
Step Four: Let the Thalmor crush the Empire armies
Step Five: “Liberate” the Empire and establish myself as The Emperor
Step Six: Massacre every single Thalmor man woman and child until they surrender, burn every productive town and destroy any non-agricultural economy in their home province.
Step Seven: Spread the word that any province that resists being assimilated will wish they were Thalmor
Step Eight: Assimilate all provinces on the continent; decimate all those who oppose until they surrender.
Step nine: Work on indefinitely prolonging my life.
Step ten: Godhood

Beat the elves back into their borders, strengthen the empire and then fight for freedom and civil rights within the province of skyrim for all races.

Try and assimilate the empire and turn skyrim into the new central empire with the nords running things. If I succeeded make treaties with the red guards, bretons, and orcs of their respected homelands the same with the dark elves, argonians, and kajit then together destroy the aldmeri. Once that is done and peace is restored desolve the empire now everyone has their rule their own lands while I ruled skyrim with an iron fist. To celebrate the success I would have jon battleborn assassinated then take ofina as my wife.

I'd fight the Thalmor until they decide to march right into Skyrim. Then convince the Empire, whom they'd presumably believe would be on their side, to pull a http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Drop_Site_Massacre#.TuhFF_LeJsU type trap, where the Imperials would turn on the Thalmor in the middle of the battle, cutting them off from behind.

It'd of course mean war, but this time with the Thalmor's already smaller armies reduced even further, the Empire would have the advantage.

I would secede from the Empire and declare war on the Aldmeri Dominion.

If I were High King of Skyrim I would issue a decree banning the spontaneous telling of life stories.

Tell the Thalmor to stay out of Skyrim, or make them

- Restore positive ties with the Empire - Skyrim would remain a part of it and I would try to make it a cornerstone of it, providing the don't interfer with the direction I am taking the country. Then endevour to reform both the Empire and Skyrim politically.

- Encourage enlightened thinking. Skyrim would welcome the other races, embrace the mage collage more, maybe build a university etc, explore the heritage and history (and ruins) of Skyrim in a more methodical fashion.

- Seek to forge alliances with other nations.

- Try and sort out a solution with the Forsworn (ok, I'd return the Reach to them, then see about being friendlier).

- Protect the giants. If possible look into mammoth domestication (and possible military applications - war mammoths anyone?)

- Come down hard on illegal organizations such as the thieves guild, Dark Brotherhood and bandits. Probably look very closely at the Silver Hand as well.

- Legalize and regulate necromancy. Embrace the positive, stamp out the negative and the field will contribute a huge amount to Skyrim. Really all necromancers need is a good code of ethics and someone to enforce it (and they might be able to help me become a Lich).

- See about befriending the Vampires. If possible they will form the core of my new intelligence agency.

- Take a "speak softly but carry a big stick" approach to the Thalmor. I'm not going to start a war, but if they start any trouble I will be ready.

- Encourage growth and job development so ex-adventures with knee injuries have career choices other than becoming a guard.

There will be taxes to cover the ascent of Skyrim, but the people shouldn't complain because their taxes will be moderate while the High King intends to place a high tax rate on the High King. Because the High King can afford it.

I would also invest in new reinforce knee armor, no soldier would be without the highest quality legendary ebony knee guards.

Throw out the Empire and negotiate an alliance of arms with Hammerfell. Together as the new "United Nations", a military force of independant states we'd kick the Thallies asses
