My four most recent characters:
Khajiit weaponmaster: Belisarius (named after the Byzantine general)
Khajiit light warrior: Ariobarzan (named after the Persian general)
Nord warrior: Anaximander (named after the pre-socratic philosopher)
Bosmer archer: Kiyomizu (named after the Kiyomizu-dera, a Buddhist temple in Japan)
I almost never pay attention to name trends within a particular race and just choose a name I think is fitting. It's kind of like how some emperors took on a name that was different than the one they were given at birth.
Nords, Imperials and Breton almost always get Greek names (Anaximander, Odysseus, Polykleitos.)
Khajiit are commonly named after ancient generals/strategists (Belisarius, Ariobarzan, Sima Yi)
I've only played as a Bosmer once (Kiyomizu), but I think I'll keep with the trend and name the next one after a different Japanese temple.
I don't know why I think these names are fitting, but I do.
