There is an unofficial thread for game of thrones. But whatever, mine is Tyrion Lannister. It is a real shame he is a Lannister though because I hate the Lannister family, I support house Stark.

Arya Stark is my favorite character. She's not the smartest or bravest or strongest character around but she resonates quite a bit with me and feels very real and I always like reading chapters with her. So she is my favorite character from the books.

I did love her first ever chapter when her and Jon are just talking and watching the boys practice. Arya is my second favourite character.

Some obscure one-page character from a book after Game of Thrones and before Feast for Crows, thus making me instantly recognizable as a tr00 fan of A Song of Ice and Fire, instead of calling it after the tv-series.

Arya Stark, especially when she stabs a stable boy in the TV series, not sure if it happens in the books.

It happens in the book. In fact, I found that scene to be a lot more effective in the book.

As far as favorite characters...

On the show, Tyrion Lannister hands-down.

In the books it's a toss-up between Tyrion, Arya, and Jon Snow. I'm also a fan of Sir Barristan...and Jaime really grew on me in later books. Also, Reek is interesting. I won't spoil anything about that, though.

Actually, I've hated Dany in every book. An incompetent mess of hormones that can't seem to gather that Ned Stark may have had a point in being angry at her Dad because he burned his and his brother alive...

Jon Snow was my favorite character early in the series. I was somewhat less enamored with him in ADwD. At that point, Arya is my favorite.
