Love : Its TES. TES V (as in 5 or five)

Hate : Its TES combat, a f....up UI and flickering shadows.

I'm beginning to think you're level 3 who's managed to cross 1 tomb. I've been in dungeons/tombs/caves/forts/temples, some of which took me 45 minutes to an hour to complete.

Did I said that I have the game?

45 minutes to 1 hour?... that's way to much...unless you are over encombered...or you have to move just like in Morrowind (punch-move).

LOVE:

Size and scale of the world, with all the content and areas to explore.

HATE:

The textures messed up (Xbox, not installed to HDD), makes Morrowind look like Crysis in comparision...

Well, Morrowind on PC (no graphic mods) is pretty high quality and beautyfull.the armors and weapons have some awesome textures... even for today's standarts

Like: Everything but the UI.

Hate: The UI. And there's probably not any UI mods yet...

Fail.
And man, don't answer in this topic if you HAVEN'T PLAYED THE GAME YET. Are you really so narrow-minded or are you actually talking about the game you've NEVER played before? (talkin' about Skyrim of course)

No, some of them are very challenging and lengthy. One took me about two hours to get through, and then it had a boss battle at the end. I died four times before finally killing that boss, and I only could because I was lucky to have a scroll of Mass Paralysis.

No marryable Khajiits? :(

LOVE
Smithing. It's easy and satisfaying.
Menu design. It's styled and climatic.

HATE
No motion blur. Not that is something big, but Skyrim would look so good with it.

Well, I did saw some LPs, and I know what to think about things if I compare some things with Oblivion and Morrowind, and on what I wouldn't like.

Isn't that how we are supposed to think about a game before buying it?

And when I'm gona buy Skyrim, I'm gona mod it big time.

Hm, oh, ok.
But 2 hours seems pretty long though...

Love: Everything looks really nice.

Hate: Companions, just annoy the hell out of me, they svck in combat, and seem to go on their own errands when you aren't looking, so they're never seen again. (Lydia!)

loved pretty much everything i saw in my brief time with skyrim, especially the npcs... i think they are the most interesting npcs in any game period.
hate that ide have to play through 6 full times just to try out each perk and see what i like the best.

Love: I'm in my first Dwelmer dungeon and reading all the journals I find is making me scared of what I'll soon encounter, not many games can scare me. Kudos, Bethesda.
Hate: same as above, I'm getting too paranoid O_o

Love: nostalgia. So I was sitting in a tavern where a Bard was playing a tune on his lute. I couldn't quite place it, but I started kind of humming along to the song. Then it hit me. It's the tavern music from TES: Arena! Much slower tempo, and a slightly different rendition, but I'm pretty sure that's it. Very cool.

Hate: I don't know, how about NPCs constantly repeating the same little phrases when you walk past them.

Love:

1. The amazing blowing mist and snow effects.
2. Xbox load times much more tolerable than Oblivion's.
3. World feels much less generic than Oblivion. Has that old Morrowind feel of hugeness and mystery.
4. Enjoying the fact that enemies are not scaled precisely to your level. Some fights are easy, some fights kill you dead.
5. Appreciate semi-hostile creatures like giants that put on a threat display if you get close but won't aggro from miles away.
6. Enjoying the fact that both the Imperials and the Stormcloaks seem to have a lot of points going for them (haven't picked a side yet).
7. Appreciating the creativity of the various dungeon scenarios and the beauty of the ruins and dungeons.

Hate:

1. Spiders that shoot at you are not scary, they're just lame. Probably designed by the same [censored] that did the shooting ghoul reavers in F3.
2. Dungeons that cannot be re-exited (Sightless Pit) and might be full of things way above your level. This is not fun.
3. Melee combat is still pretty flavorless. Hack hack, back off, hack, get pounded, repeat.
4. Lame "backwards power strike" type perks should have been trashed. Moving in combat just to stay alive is hard enough already.
5. NPC escort missions are kind of annoying because of the way they stop repeatedly if you get too close. If I want to talk, I can push a damn button. Keep moving!
6. UI is uninspired and uninspiring.
7. What the hell is with the tiny, tiny text in menus, for save games, etc? It's not like there's not a lot of blank screen space available.
8. Annoying to be unable to stealth/exit combat because some tiny little thing like a Skeever miles away across a river has spotted you.
9. Why couldn't cooking just be tied to big fires, like the one you see in every inn? Why do we have to hunt down spits, which are rarer?
10. The timing required to trigger the 'special' version of a dual-wielded spell is really annoying. Makes me not want to take perks related to dual-wielding spells.

Oh yea! I heard some musics that were present in previous games, on some LPs.

First to get it off my chest. Are you seriuosly complaining that we have big/huge dungeons now? really?? REALLY?!

LOVE:
1: The atmosphere is superb. I actually caught myself ducking in my chair when sneaking through dungeons and holding my breath if I heard a noise or someone talking in the distance.
2: The armours. They all look incredible to me.
3: Music. In the words of Homer J. Simpson "JEBUS!!"

HATE:
1: That I keep wanting to try another playstyle and roll a completely different character... ;)

Love:
Coinpurses. Seriously, what a simple fix.
The new journal system. Awesome sauce.
The amount of content. I've played about 20 hours so far and seen perhaps a fifth of the entire map.
The level of detail every single dungeon/cave/hideout has.
That the game never crashes, loads areas faster than the Fallout games, and looks really really good.

Hate:
Lots of mountains. Especially mountains you can't climb over.
Ambient music isn't as good as previous games.
This annoying tendency to require you walking to the other side of the map to complete an otherwise fairly 'local' minor quest.
The skills level up at uneven speeds. Sneak and pickpocketing are hilariously easy to level up. The magic skills, especially destruction, take forever to level.

Love - Most of everything that isnt in the hate list. A few that stand out are:
  • Northern setting
  • Dragons
  • World design and sfx like the waterfalls and streams
  • Character and armour design
  • Better bows

Hate - This isn't everything, but its things that immediately stood out to me.
  • Health regen (kinda shocked it was included - its like giving Mario a machine gun, just doesn’t fit the game design)
  • No item degradation
  • Amount of time spent in the paused faves menu (miss quick slots)
  • Cant block while duel wielding
  • Slow clunky menu’s
  • Fugly elves
  • Accidental sales
  • Not much weapon type variety
  • No acrobatics
  • No stats - My character lacks definition, feels just like everybody else's character except for the surface details, race etc.
  • No Fallout New Vegas style hardcoe mode
  • Silly looking overly fantasy weapon designs (not as good as some of the sensible designs in Oblivion)

After Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3 & New Vegas, it feels really dumbed down. I don’t hate it, but I don’t think I’ll be playing this one as much I as did any of those previous games. Just a bit disappointed with it. Feels like a step back in many ways.

Love:
1. The Main Quest + Guild Quests (Done all apart from the College). They are short, which is a bummer, but they actually make me want to finish them. Oblivion's were so dull.
2. The LORE! I felt so sad to see a certain group of people very weakened in Skyrim. My Oblivion Listener would be so sad.
3. Dragon Fights, pure epicosity
4. 34 hours of Gameplay, only 3 CTD's which were probably self-induced (Kept alt+tabbing for about 10 seconds :D)
5. No end in sight! I wanted to spend this weekend just doing all the quests and then starting a Roleplaying Char, but I doubt i will have time to even find them all, let alone complete them.
6. LOVE how you can continue after finishing guild quests. Unlimited thief + Assassin jobs!

Hate:
1. Main Quest too short. Was fun, but it was so short that I missed some of the story because it was so fast.
2. ummm... Oh yes, Mountains. Hate trying to climb them, takes years.
3. Want a bounty that goes down over time. What's the point in a regional bounty system if you can't hide out somewhere else for a while?
4. A certain black, fast horse is not invunrable. I thought it was when I rode off that mountain :( (Trivial though)
5. Werewolf animations bug, but again not game breaking. Just annoying.
6. The end of the Companions Quest for me bugged. I completed it, and returned back to their main base. But nothing happened. I can't find any of the main people. Ah well :P Who cares?
