It's only fair, they have to get the profit from it and I imagine it takes a lot of extra money to ship to Australia.

So you're saying it costs approximately $50AUD per copy to ship? I highly doubt that. Maybe if they send them 1 copy at a time but I'm assuming they come over in a crate in bundles of a few hundred or more.

The hilarious thing about the first part of that sentence is that soon it might be accurate irrespective of the bleeped word.

Yeah I know, it's crap. I've spent thousands of games over the past....pfff 6 years? Even the new release ps2 games used to be $110. Take the Ratchet and Clank series for instance. Oh well, hopefully it's $110 worth spent.

110 A$ for ONE game? Wow, Come over the UK, Canada or the US because your country really hates video games.

Are you absolutely serious? Cause if you are I'll freaking cry in happiness (not really I wont show any emotion at all..but still)
That'd save mee sooo much dough on Gran Turismo 5+ Black Ops+ Brink+ Ratchet and Clank+ Killzone 3...etc..

If you go through Steam for the pre-order (I did) it is $50 USD (49.99), which only cost me about $56 AUD (which is still a lot cheaper than in store PC au).
But if you buying on console, then ya a little out of luck..

Me too, I can't control FPS games on my PS3 anyway. I'm too much of a gumby when it comes to FPS/TPS games on the console, I much prefer the keyboard and mouse for FPS/TPS games. Racing games and RPGs for the PS3 mostly.

I pre-ordered F1 2010 for the PS3 though and that was $AU110, so it seems that's becoming the standard price. Someone somewhere is making a heck of a lot of money from Australian gamers seeing as we are getting charged near double the price that the rest of the world is paying. On-line download stores like Steam FTW.

Don't know if this helps you, but it helped me. I've been searching for agesss for the best priced aussie gaming store. So far I found Big W have the cheapest pre-ordering price.
I picked up mw2 for $75..

i have a questions, and i'm not trying to be a dike ..

why dont you guys from Australia just order the game from an American company?

it sounds to me like i could make some money buying games up here, then selling them to you guys down there...
also, i've been hearing that sometimes it takes weeks for the games to make it down there compared to when they are released up here, so, i could probably ship it faster than that anyway ..

am i on to something? or is there obvious legal reason why this wont work.

most likely theres a legal reason or shipping costs for you would be too high.... Do you really think you were the first person to think of this?

I've considered it several times. I don't know for sure if the PS3 games are zoned, which may be a problem.
And the other, it takes too long. But I'm looking into it. Hopefully ps3 games in Hong Kong aint zoned, going there for chrissy!

$89 for PC and $109 for the consoles at JB Hi-Fi (Australia). Must say, I find this to be cheaper than many other games e.g. MW2 or BFBC2, as they are normally $100+ even for the PC version.
