315 hours and it keeps getting better!

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 1:05 pm

It was around 300 hrs. in Oblivion when my character was so powerful (lvl 33) that even the toughest opponents weren't much of a challenge. Not so with Skyrim! I'm lvl 39 and just got owned by three snow trolls and glad of it!

I still have LOTS more exploring to do; plants and alchemical ingredients to collect and concoct into ever-increasingly potent potions (I love fiddling around at an alchemical lab finding new lethal combinations), armor and weapons to create and enchant! I continue to marvel at the beautiful, detailed and varied graphics, that out shine any other game I've played!

My magic is steadily getting better as I level up, still finding new tomes and I'm still honing my battle skills. Some underground structures are so big that it takes three times to completely explore them...and I haven't even started Blackreach! NPCs are still giving me side-quests and I'm only about one-third the way through the main quest. Yes, there are glitches, but they are few and far between. The game has not crashed once on my mid-to-high end PC, nor even hiccuped during the most graphic-intensive action scenes.

To Bethesda I say hats off to you! Skyrim deserves to be GOTY.

I Agree. This game is still awesome even after playing 300+ hours. No serious bugs for me either. Skyrim = GOTY

I to, am on that bandwagon. I brought it on the 11.11.11 here in Aotearoa ( would have still been 10.11.11 in most other countrys ) and have played it everyweek, usually quite a bit and i still LOVE it.

I just can't wait to build a computer later on this year so i can buy it for PC as well for the mods :D

yup, there's not many other games that lets you play for more than 100 hours, so even if theres some bugs is still one of the best games out there right now, it allows you to use vaious playstyles and has a good replayability factor

No, but you could try getting a sense of humour

I'm glad your enjoying it even after 300 hours, it got a bit bland and samey for me after about 200.

Nice...I haven't fired up Skyrim in weeks, I have trouble to get the motivation to play it. Mind you I have roleplay characters and more ''casual'' characters so it's not like I do not have plenty to choose from. Too bad I have it only on PS3, mods would probably keep me playing it.

330 hrs started my 3rd char, she's only lvl 12, completely different from my other 2, An even with them I didn't do some of the quests in the same order, mostly cause my 2nd char has no magic except restoration so I haven't done any of the college quests. I haven't gotten far on the MQ with the 2nd char and I plan on doing the whole thing with her.

I know it's just my opinion but the game hasn't gotten "old" or "stale" and I don't think it will for awhile. my 3rd char has alot to do. TG, DB and the deadric quests.

Totally agree with the OP. I'm not an avid gamer usually (only games I played in the last ten years were Paradox strategy games à la Hearts of Iron and Europa Universalis) but this game has blown my mind. I'm just glad I'm not in high school or college like some of you, which means my evenings are relatively free for putting in many hours.

I don't see how I will tire of this soon. Hopefully by summer, as I'm an avid outdoors type of person. ;-)

I'm on my fourth character now, so all told I'm probably 300 hours in combined :D I have restartitis, simply because I love the introduction to the game so much! I love starting the main quest, starting guild quests, exploring over and over. I take a different direction with each character, go to a new 'starting' town with each one, and I still haven't hit every corner of the map.

Glad to see some positive energy on the forum! Cheers :)

Also agree with OP. I must admit the new mods coming out though are really giving the game new life for me. It is just going to keep getting better and better.

I'm only about 30 hours in, but so far, so good. I spent over 400 hours with my Oblivion main character and plan to do the same here.

I love rpgs that let me explore and don't feel like an interactive book, and the outdoor scenery is beautiful. I always have to stop and look at the various waterfalls.

During my brief playthrough so far, I can say that I did have fun making a run to the Lover Stone and back to Whiterun with my lv 7 character. There was plenty to see and enemies to avoid, and when I got back to Whiterun, I couldn't help but think of what an interesting trip that was.

i'm about 75 hours in and having a blast.

on my first true playthrough, the roleplaying is great in this living gameworld. in fact, i keep wanting to make my other character builds right now, but, have to force myself not to.

I've got about 200 hours in but I'm starting to get burned out. I was playing with a Naked Nord for a while but I think I'll move on to another game for a while and come back and hope that Skrim is fresh again.

Nice one. At lvl. 38 my character got a bit stale for me (a conjuration/destruction mage who could spam Dremora Lords), so I started a melee guy on master and that rekindled my interest. And when he gets too powerful I'll make a stealthy assassin/thief type.
