[Q] About Random Spawns

I agree. Some modders can't leave well enough alone. It's one thing to change stuff beyond the scope of the mod and suddenly one day you have all these extra functions or features you weren't interested in, it's another thing entirely when a modder hides changes or releases such a dirty mod that a ton of stuff has been flagged and tweaked that have nothing to do with the original mod.

This of course is one of the side effects of Subscribing to a mod in the Workshop. [all mods I use are Workshop mods] You risk getting bad updates which can bork a game. Unsubbing is an option of course but they should really add a different 'auto update' check box for each mod in the launcher that way I can still keep my subscription but I won't necessarily automatically update if I don't want it to.

I never auto-update anything. And I won't use the workshop, because I very much resent being forced to use steam for this game to begin with. I'm perfectly happy with skyrim.nexusmods, and manual installs.

So I just ported into Morthal from the Mages College.

What's wrong with http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/7656/2012031900004.jpg? As with all Bears that have spawned at my spawn point, it ignored me. I jumped on it, nothing. Not until I conjure my bound bow does ithttp://img43.imageshack.us/img43/9563/2012031900008.jpg. Shadomere and my Atronach http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/1608/2012031900016.jpg and the Elk just stood there and watched. http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/8715/2012031900019.jpg.

Okay I'm getting fed up with this. I just ported into Windhelm and two Dremora Kynreeve's where there waiting and instantly killed me.

Okay so since these last two events happened in rapid succession I tested. I had a save a few ports prior to hitting Morthal. So I loaded up the game with *all* mods disabled. As soon as I landed in game, I instantly ported to Morthal.

Nothing there.

I ported to the College to wrap up that mission then exited the College and [like my previous play] ported to Morthal and lo and behold, the Bear and Elk where there.

I instantly ported over to Windhelm, no Dramora's.

I ported to Whiterun [since that's where I left originally to get to Windhelm] and hit the Breezehome to sleep until 10am [which is what I did last time]. I woke up, exited the house, ported to Windhelm and there they were. Two Dremora's waiting for me.

Now I'm lost. And as cool and fun it might be for some people, I think my game has somehow become corruputed.

Ouch. THAT svcks. And is pretty weird too - I can't remember ever seeing anyone else post something like that.... It's like your game is possessed.

I'm still thinking it's somehow a conjuration bug.

Regarding the Dremora, it didn't matter if I ported to the front gate inside Windhelm or the Palace - they were there. And when I ported to the palace, both my Storm Thralls were gone - turned out they spawned at the front gate instead so I'm thinking the two Dremora took their spawn places when I spawned at the Palace.

I've only recall seeing Dremora Kynreeve spawn as part of the Mehrunes Razor Pieces of the Past quest line [though maybe they spawn elsewhere - I don't know] When you get to the shrine for the last part, two of them spawn and you have to kill them and on their corpses is the Mehrune's Shrine key. Well on both Dremora Kynreeve's that attacked me in Windhelm, they both had a key on their body.

In keeping with my thought about it being a conjuration bug, after I killed them during the Peices of the Past quest, I had rezzed them both and had them as followers for a couple of days. Once they're timers ran out they just fell over and I would re-rez them. Eventually I ended up loosing them in the mountains when I took an alternate route up some steep cliffs and they couldn't follow me. I ended up rezzing a few other dead Bandits. Where the Dremora corpses ended up I don't know but all of these creatures that have been jumping me when I portal in have at one time or another been rezzed by me and ultimately lost. The Dremora that jumped me in Whiterun [see pic in OP] were Kynreeves as well and they also had keys.

I've never seen Kynreeve elsewhere, so you may be on to something there. I don't ever use conjuration (well, I don't use anything except destruction, and the occasional transmute, really) so no clue if it's seriously buggy. So you dead thralled all the various things that have spawned on you? That could be the issue.... there's another post on this first page about dead thrall bugginess in Breezehome....

If you can find that post, and if you think that might be it - you probably want to bug-report it. http://www.gamesas.com/forum/179-skyrim-hardware-and-software-issues-subforums/ - and choose the relevant platform.

Good luck - you're being an amazingly good sport on this. Let us know what happens, okay?

Not Dead Thralled, I've only recently gotten to that level but previously, it was mostly Revenant.

Maybe I'll have a mod just move this thread into the PC section.

That might move things along better, and it's certainly I think a better place for your thread. Again, good luck, and do let us know how it goes on from here!

Since it sounds mod related, move it to the mods section.

Two things:
  • Are you sure the necromancer mod you were using isn't at fault, considering the problems you're having are to do with raised actors?
  • Regardless of the mod causing this, uninstalling a mod is sometimes not enough -- data from scripts can persist from a save, even if the script is uninstalled.
But you might be able to salvage your save -- next time you're jumped by an actor you know is one you previously raised:
  • Bring up the console (`)
  • Click on it
  • Type 'disable'
  • Type 'delete'
When you save your game next, it won't be stored in the save.

It can't be mod related as it happens without mods. Beside the Necromancy Tweaks mod didn't make those kind of tweaks that I was aware of and I pulled it a few days ago for testing and the problem persisted.

Wouldn't disable/deleting a cave bear disable and delete all the cave bears in the game? Same with a Draugr or Bandit... ?

*** EDIT

Okay I ported to Sanctuary and there was a Foresworn there so I opened up the console to disable him and when I selected him, his ID came up and I typed disable but nothing happened. Shadowmere was right beside him so I click Shadowmere and typed disable and he disappeared, I typed enable then closed the console and Shadowmere reappeared. I opened up the console again, clicked on the Foresworn and type disable and still he wouldn't disappear. Tried delete but that didn't do anything.

So whatever is going on, they can't be disabled.

Hello low8all.

As a reply my thread about the same problem and whether these creatures are being pulled from dungeons:

Try visiting dungeons that you are very familiar with, and contain the same enemies that are spawning around you. Generally Falmer and Draugr are the easiest to pinpoint as they spawn almost exclusively in interiors.

You may notice some enemies are missing: rooms that should have enemies are empty.

Also, another large pointer to this is if you click on the spawning creatures using the console, they're reference id will begin with 000, rather than ff. That means these creatures were handplaced by the developers somewhere. And as falmer are never dynamically spawn and always hand placed (I believe), they must be coming from dungeons.

I believe the issue occurs when you transition cells with a reanimated follower, but I haven't tested that thoroughly yet.
