No, I think patches are arriving before DLC. They should be here this month.

I believe Bethesda's new policy is not to announce DLC until its actually finished because people &)*&*)^*)&@$*% for year if DLC is delayed a month.

Good god the entitlement whiners are getting worse.

It's not entitlement whining to want a game that has been released at retail to have its bugs fixed. I'm a huge fan of their games, and I've had much less problem with bugs in Skyrim than I normally do with their games, but it's still annoying.

Also, it's not like Bethesda had a personal conversation with every user saying they'll have a patch out in January. Not everyone knows what they've said on the topic, which frankly I'm inclined to largely blame on Bethesda. The "What we're working on" post hasn't been updated in almost a month, and that was just to annouce a patch release mostly to fix the bugs from the previously buggy patch.

It is entitlement whining when Bethesda has clearly stated it wil be out in Janurary and its not even half way through said month and people start making wild claims and accusations.

...what wild claims and accusations? I think you're reading into the OP's comments a bit too much? Just seems to be wondering when they'll be here and if DLC is in the works (possibly slowing them a bit).

I prefer they take time to make the patch, to not add new bugs with the patch.

As excited as I am for DLC, I'm really hoping they'll be holding off until everything is smoothed out....decorating bugs, un-upgradable weapons, etc.

this is BETHESDA, please go look at the state of Fallout 3 and Oblivion before you make expectations.

I don't care about time. Don't rush it, just make it right this time, Bethesda, even if it has to be delayed until February. Use the huge revenues to hire more bug-testers or staff.

Patches >> DLC I think Bethesda knows this too.

Also, after a few small patches that fixed the worst bugs, they are now taking more time to issue a much bigger and comprehensive patch. How many more patches will be released is anyone guess but I'll be surprised if we'll see more than two new patches.

We probably wont get many more actual patches. Beth seem more keen to use the live updating feature of the game to correct gameplay bugs. I think we will only really see proper patches for engine changes and updates, and those will be sporadic at best.

I dont know, Bethesda has already released 3 patches and thats just about all Oblivion got, and more then Fallout got, and they havent even started on the quest fixes which they said would be multiple patches.

they seem keen on actually fixing thier games for once.

whining when no promise has been broken changes nothing.

Bethesda said this month, and until this month is over you have no right to whine

Also whining wont make it come out faster.

They dont have to patch to fix quest bugs. The game has a live update feature on all systems that allows beth to change game data on the fly without patching. Its similar to the systems employed in games such as CoD or Crysis2, where the player would "log in" to multiplayer for updates to that mode without needing patching. Since Skyrim only has one mode (SP) any changes can be made to all systems universally when the games are loaded while connected to the network.
