Common problems:
- Lag (although not extremely put of hand yet) .
-Dragons not catching fire and not giving souls.

And now for the not so common and INFURIATING problems:
-You know those chanting walls? Word walls apparently? That give you powers that you can eventually use with the power of dragon souls? well the last 2 I found just chant at me forever and do absolutely NOTHING. I have a couple of dragon souls to spare (before they stopped giving them to me) but nothing to use them on. ugh.
- I can't use certain objects. Levers for example. Or those boards that cover some of the doors. I thought maybe it was only because I was in this one dungeon (I don't think I was supposed to be in there yet or something?). But when I fast traveled to whiterun I couldn't use the carriage either! It's all just seeming glitchy and I have no clue wtf is going on. any help? (and no, i'm not over encumbered )

Registered to report issues aswell, 9.8mb and 52 hours, framerate drops after about an hour or two of gameplay to 10-1fps when: riding a horse, discovering new locations, just being in cities, large battles and dragons. Guess I have to make a new character and play that until the patch comes out (assuming that it works). Also load times are pretty long.

Ok, so I'm in Winterhold and I purchase the coral dragon claw from Birna's Oddments shop. I leave the shop and then realize there's no map marker or quest description. All I have is the coral dragon claw in my inventory. So I google the quest location and find out it's Yngol Barrow. So after hunting for the location for half an hour, I finally find it. My babe Lydia and I go in, and see a sudden flash of brilliant color and then everything goes black. I can still here sounds and see the HUD, but everything else is black. I can move, but cannot see where I'm going. Got out completely 3 different times and got back in, with exact same results. Couple this with random dead dragons falling from the sky and I'd say apocalypse has come to Skyrim!! WTF??!! This is embarrassing!! 43 hours in, level 21, 7792kb save file.

As far as the coral claw goes, it doesn't mark on your map because Birna tells you she can't remember where the claw is suppose to be used.

Level 23. A bit over 7 MB save file.

Starting to experience large framerate drops when outside of buildings/dungeons/forts/ect... Sometimes experience bad framerate drops inside buildings, but not that often (it is becoming more frequent though).

save file 6,200- 6,300 kb
just over 32 hours
level 26

PS3 slim 120, BRAND NEW. (I bought it for this game)

I started noticing slight hiccups and slowdown somewhere between the file size being 4-5 megs, I wasn't' sure exactly.
and assumed it was small slowdown that you'd attribute to any open world game, like GTA or red dead redemption.

But now I'm definitely noticing them, and its not normal. More annoying considering I see people who complain after 50-60 hours and over 10 mb save files. Yet my slowdown is comparable to the horrid stuff I've seen in videos online and my game size still seems small.

Noticable freezes when I'm going through the world and stuff pops up (like a dead dragon floppnig about)

When dragons attack the game is more likely to crash. (which makes me more fearful of dragons now)

And in cities or in the midst of battle the game gets ridiculously choppy, making it near impossible to hit anything normally. My bow and arrow becomes useless. I can still talk to NPC's though, I so I haven't experienced that yet.

i already posted my framerate issues in another thread but i
will go ahead and repost them in here.

currently
12mb save file
severe frame rate drops within 30 minutes of playtime now.
several ps3 restarts in order to play longer without issues as
well as periodic freezes due to lag.

i posted a bug concerning buying the property in solitude.
this is a link with images to illustrate that bug.

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1289538-solitude-residence-bug/

i am also reporting a quest list bug from the Jarl in Dawnstar, Skald.
i have included this image as well. as you can see, i have 4 collect
bounty from Skald links showing even though i have already completed
these bountys and gotten my reward. the quests failed to clear from my
quest list and now are always on there.

that is all i have to report currently.

Just to update what I posted in your previous thread, I'm still having issues and they're worse now than ever before. My saved data file size is at 8.1 mbs and still, scarily, growing rapidly. There's plenty of stuttering and the general fps is poor, regardless of how long I've been playing for that particular session. It may even get worse if I play for too long, but I'm not sure. What I can say is that irritating problems exist from the moment I initially boot up the PS3 and play, however.

I would love to get help from users of this thread.

I am a senior anolyst for the BC Institute of Technology and I am tabulating data regarding the lag issue. If you have a moments (less than a minute), you could help out everyone and fill out the https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dG5GaUtDY1l2TmNpTDliLTZkd0xxMkE6MQ.

You can read more on http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1290270-help-solve-ps3-problems-fill-out-the-skyrim-lag-issue-report-form/.

Thanks for your help!

Initially;

Lag from autosaving, lag in crowded towns (lots of NPCs), much lag from Magic and fighting groups.

Now (~50 hours, 6 mb save) unplayable, very frustrating especially when the PS3 version of Oblivion was so good (incidentally not made by Bethesda), and its Bethesda's second chance to get it right after Fallout 3.

Also related (?) bugs with shopkeepers and quest actions not responding at all. Restart+Reload is needed, but this happens so often now, I've given up. Back to Batman: Arkham City (which has never given me any lag or glitches).

Yeah, it's a shame... I don't understand why Bethesda didn't just outsource Skyrim like they did Oblivion. Is it money? Pride? Overestimation of their own capabilities?

I mean, somebody please tell me what's wrong's with the following statement. I feel like playing Oblivion more than Skyrim right now because Oblivion, Skyrim's 5 1/2 year older sibling (4 1/2 for PS3 versions) runs better on my PS3.

Level 33 or so, PS3 slim, about 70 hours. Alot of frame rate drops, constant studders from the moment I start the game. After about 45 minuites, travling through out the wilderness causes freezes for about one second every 5 seconds. In towns (whiterun for example) When i walk past an NPC i freeze for a second. and walking around the "market circle" in whiterun i get horrible lag.

Round 2 (the REAL round 2) of my previous thread.

Since I keep seeing posts about there not being a lot of users with problems, I thought we'd make a list! Please, try to post only once in this thread, I don't want it to become a discussion. Also, please don't post in here if you don't have problems and/or to brag.

Just post what kind of problem you are having.

1. Tluav Boy - Framerate drops to about 1 frame per 2-3 seconds during large open areas, towns, dragon fights, large battles, or anything similar. (23 hours, level 13, 5.2 mb)
2. Iggyiggystinkface - "game is runnin like [censored] now" (20 hrs, level 18, 5.5 mb)
3. Patriot1 - "over 50 hours and framerate drop so much i can't play anymore, my savegame is 12mb, freakin insane and now battles, towns, wild, i can barely move after 15 minutes of gameplay."
4. Elkirak - "I do have lag, freez{e} problems with the game."
5. aegondragan - "12 MB 52 hours played, after 10 minutes unplayable frame rate persists untill i reboot then after 10 minutes i get slideshow again. rinse and repeat."
6. Dovahn - "I'm on 13 mb and now I seriously can't play. The FPS is so low that well it's just torture to play and that's when I'm just walking slowly, and the loading screens have begun taking over minutes to load."
7. TwoManMafia TZH - "9 mb and 31 hours in and i have HORRIBLE stuttering like every half a second the framerate drops. level 23 btw"
8. Blitz - "now I'm at 12mb and i get constant frame drops after 5-10 minutes of play time. Like i'm watching slide show."
9. dearpooka - "Originally, had no issues with the game whatsoever. Savegame file is currently 14mb. 84 hours clocked. Level 41 with over 100 quests done (If that some how helps?) The framerate is dropping to a unbearable level, making gameplay impossible. Having to reset the PS3 every other hour or so, sometimes more frequently. I can be playing for 10-15 minutes without a issue and then it just starts to slow and grind practically to a stop. it is now impossible for me to do anything in Whiterun. Members of the "Companions" are following me and initiating dialogue.
It is getting to the point where, despite the fact I am now far from Whiterun, I cannot possibly fast travel anywhere as they are pursuing me just so they can talk to me. Cancelling out of dialogue does nothing, they just continue to pursue me and start the same dialogue over and over again. I've tried reloading my save and it now seems that I will have to use a another save from over 8 hours ago as this is destroying my game experience. "
10. anan22 - "My issue started when it hit 6.3MB; there was basically a sudden huge drop in frame rate, an increase in stuttering and lag, and the amount of texture pop-in also increased. now I can barely play an hour before the lag gets too bad- combat becomes impossible.
11. letboy - "i lag like crazy, progressively worse . is now to the point of non playable."
12. IWantMyMoneyBack - "played for 30 hours save file about 7.5mb game didnt become unplayable but it did start goin downhill pretty fast so i decided not to play it untill its patched"
13. Silver Dreamcatcher2525 - "I am only able to play an hour before the framerate drops start to kick in. I've also got bad popups. Controller is very unresponsive with the menu, the music jumps in places and the sound effects sound wrong at times. Very BAD flashing blue terrain inside Dunstern Cairn for the Companions quest."
14. VoodooResidue - "I have constant freezing issues, file size 6 mb"
15. Vesta - "Yep, I have the frame rate problem. 42 hours in. 7.8mb save game file size. Frame rate is already becoming unplayable and load times have more than doubled. Have had several 'hard reboot needing' crashes aswell."
16. CallmeaffiliatedD - "ive had the lag save issue for 3 days now and my save file is 11mb level 24"
17. Zf6hellion - {Abbreviated} Entered Fort Hragstad, upon loading was stuck in First Person view and floating around the room. Reload fixed the problem. Stutters after several hours of gameplay. New character auto save overwrote save for previous character. Dialogue options for buying a house dissappear from Jarl's steward. Cannot kill NPC required for quest completion (Blood on the Ice).
18. Khadaq - WAY too long to repost here. Check out his list on the bottom of page 2. It's got excellent detail.
19. Skagerberg - "11MB save, just beat the game and didn't loot a single corpse. Before that last dungeon with all the draugr my file was 9mb, after running through the dungeon and not looting a single thing, jumped to 11MB and whiterun is nothing but a slideshow. Lots of jumpiness and/or short freezes."
20. Petch - "I'm lvl 30 odd, 37 hours in, save file size 8.5MB, discovered 100+ locations."
21. imriley - "I'm a level 31 with a save file of 12mb. I haven't beat the game but I have looted extensively and trained a lot of skills. I have trouble with frame rates, lag spikes, and the occasional graphics glitch."
22. Seti18 - "My general fps svcks and stuttering is getting worse. saved file size - ~6.1 mbs"
23. JackKlompus - "I quit while I was ahead. 6828KB save file, 24 hours of total gameplay, level 13. Frame rate was beginning to drop when I quit playing on Sunday"
24. Tyranny68 - "71 hours of playtime, im at level 30, i havent focused on leveling i have only been concerned with making gold adventuring looting and that sort of stuff, my save file is at 12MB, the game is critically laggy FPS have dropped so drastically, even during regular gameplay."
25. Billy Mahoney - "10 mb save 58 hours playtime- Extreme framerate issues in open world and Whiterun, basically anywhere where a lot of things are happening. Caves and Dungeons can be playable if the enemies remain in packs of 4 or less, playable does not mean optimal as I experience some form of lag and frame rate loss at all times now. Controller doesn't respond to all button presses now as well."
26. skoell - "1 Autosave and 1 manual save. Both 11+ MB. Paytime 65 hours. Games runs smooth for like one hour, then it starts lagging."
27. IcarusLives - "It was running fine for the first 15ish hours I put into it, but now things are getting progressively worse. I just did the first werewolf quest from Aela, and that whole thing was so bad and choppy that I could hardly finish it."
28. datheo - "When i am doing the quest golden claw.I kill the mobs in the tower the continue to go up and around the hill toward the temple stairs.but when i get to where the tattered cloth is the temple stairs and environment all disappear. So i never get to the front door because the environment goes poof. Its at the start of the game and i cant even get into the temple of do the quest."
29. wuuthrad - "35 hours of playtime, level 22. The lag is getting worse and stutter is constantly ruining the experience. FPS drops down to 10-13 when entering the town, and if im unlucky, it stays that way for a period of time. I have a 9MB save, and 3 autosaves. I have a PS3 Slim 250GB from 2010. Around 150GB free space. I own a house in Whiterun with about 60+ items stored and a house in Riften with about 100+ items stored. I have killed 3 dragons and try to keep my inventory volume as low as possible. The lag seems to be getting worse after the 2-hour mark, with constant slowdowns and stutter adding to the stream of problems. The dips in FPS reaches critical measures when entering towns, fighting larger battles or going near fire, wind etc. The game has also frozen a couple of times, which seems to be a result of playing many hours without restarting the PS3."
30. kenTucky - "40 Hours of gameplay, level 23 Khajiit Thief, 7mb game save size. Issue: Lag, constantly freezing every 1-3 Hours of gameplay, Riftten house bookshelf BUG (can't activate)."
31. Hoi_C - "My PS3 freezes a lot and crappy framerates"
32. Rivers-of-Sand - "18 hours in, level 15 Khajiit Thief, my save file is between 8-9mb. The lag's only just started (significantly enough to effect gameplay that is) after I bought the house in Whiterun. If it gets worse, which I assume it will, it will quickly become unplayable. I started a new character (Mage, Breton, level 3) in the meantime which has a 3mb save file after an hour of gameplay. There are lag spikes occasionally but generally it's smooth... as my Khajit was originally."
33. Saint of Black Marsh - "I'm having some lag issues in various locations. Whiterun, in particular, is quite bad. Save is at 58h 30m roughly and 9 MB"
34. VileBeherit - "It started as what seemed like an inability to produce textures on the environment, then just deteriorated. FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY STAY AWAY FROM MARKARTH!!!!! If you are experiencing this, all the waterfalls and activity make it a nightmare. Lvl. 18 Just shy of 25hrs. 6.7MB"
35. Makuro - "36 hours, lvl 30 High Elf Wizard, 8mb game save file. Issues: very low frame rates, exaggerated loading times, freezes and occasional ps3 reboots"
36. LadyAnika - "LadyAnika - Serious Lag issue"
37. Herbicide777 - "Major frame rate drops in big towns and while exploring the open world."
38. SouLosT - "65+ hours in, save file at around 10mb. I can play for about 2 hours until framerate/stuttering and textures not loading make the game unplayable. Framerate in cities and after fast-traveling slow to a crawl. Textures, especially mountain-sides and trees look like blurs, and checkerboard-like pixelization occurs on close-up items. Restarting my PS3 alleviates the issue for another few hours. It's gotten progressively worse since I started."
39. Lost Knight - "My game has become completely unplayable. It's like watching still frames."
40. Kehmu - "I've only played 5-6 hours, couple of side quests completed and so. My filesize is 3,2mb and my game crashes all the time. I just managed to finish the Bleak Falls Barrow -quest with 'save-on-open-area/quit/load'. If i saved in the dungeon, the game crashed 10-240seconds after loading the save and i had to reboot the console. Im not experiencing any lag, but this crashing is something extremely frustrating. has anyone else experienced this kind of crashing? I have PS3 Slim 120Gb."
41. Ninjafinch - "I'm having issues too, the game is almost unplayable. I'm level 25, my game is almost 10 mb. I have 13 active quests, 43 completed. 54 hours of gameplay. The game is frustrating now instead of fun... I mean, great game, minus the fact it's going to be unplayable very soon."
42. stoepkrijt - "Having the same issue, 65hours in, filesize 12MB. Have the Slim 120GB ps3. Started around 40-50hours.with slow down of fps and heavy stuttering due to hd access it seemed. It's getting worse, now I'm just waiting for the hdd led to calm down a little and then you're able to move smoothly for only a short distance. After reboot its playable until I fast travel a few locations or play one hour in. HD indicator has been showing more activity getting further in the game."
43. krongo - "50 lvl,58 hrs in game, save file size - 13mb. it's becoming unplayable in crowded towns like Whiterun(low fps). Also I had crashes at least 4 times and I had to reboot console."
44. Number_7__ - "now it is completely unplayable due to the fps issue."
45. roskelld - "50 Hours in, 10Mb Save, PS3 Slim 320GB (Uncharted 3 Bundle Console)
46. The frame rate is slow from first load, compared to how it was when I first started the game. Things start at a just about playable rate, before nose diving into slideshow territory soon after. Places like the main street in Whiterun (Walking up to the Inn) are system killers. The game stutters as characters slowly pop in to view and the movement jumps and jerks around"
47. Niten-Ichi - "I do experience the "lag" issues aswell, usually after playing the game for 3 to 4 hours straight."
48. Tomdoodle - "Had the frame-rate problem too, couldn't say how long I've been playing for but the save file size is 12mb, if it helps. Only really happens after prolonged stints until now, but it seems to be getting shorter each time."
49. greggypoos - "60 hours, 9.1MB - very bad frame rate and several crashes."
50. mojo5040 - "i have framerate drops at after 70 hours of gameplay, i am at 100 current tho. i also have multiple quest bugs!!!"
51. Tre - "I am over 8MB. At 6MB there was some lag and resetting helped. At 8MB NPCs and quests may/may not function."
52. BombSite - "at the moment i am 89hrs into the game and my frame rate has gotten even worse. save file size is at 13mb. only froze twice, however at times the frame rate drops so much it will freeze for a second or two at a time. works great in dungeons & houses."
53. LizTaylorsGhost - "I'm having issues as well. 26 hours in, save file size is around 8mb just barely. Game is lagging and freezing in outdoor areas and around whiterun."
54. Alduin The World Eater - "Played 45 hours with a save file size of 9,5mb. The game have started to lag in some cities, sometimes in the wild, sometimes when i'm using magic and sometimes during dragon battles, during one battle everything froze for some seconds then two seconds gameplay and then frozen this continued for about 5 minute."
55. Erik Sigurdsson - "today my lag problem reached 'unplayable' almost immediatley after starting the game. Previously I could get a couple of hours before the lag got too severe to play the game but today the instant I loaded up the lag started (on a scale of 1-10 it was about 6) then hit the unplayable lag after about 10 mins.
I've got about 45 hours worth of play, I think 11mb (don't have exact figure, was 11mb last time I checked) and that's it.
I ignored the lag as long as I could, I switched off auto-save, tinkered with the PS3 settings, switched off the PS3 after a couple hours of play but thats all stopped working, end of the road, game unplayable after 10 bloody minutes."
56. justincmn - "Getting crazy lag myself. File size is at 8mb and I cant even talk to a npc. Walking from the main gate in Whiterun to the Market on the other side of town literally takes me 5 minutes even after I have restarted the game. Only thing that seems to help is starting a new game completely."
57. Em04Lyfe - "I am having issues. My save file is 14 mb and counting, and after about 2 hours I start lagging so bad that I am unable to play the game."
58. sisboombah - "Just started having the issue with lag myself. lvl 16, 31hrs, 6.4mbs"
59. storka - "at lvl 27 game is lagging like crazy"
60. Gaol - "Well my game has started lagging a bit in cities now, and in the wild. I'm 25 hours in and at 6.8mb"
61. TylerDurden92 - "literally went from perfect frame rates to unplayable in a matter of hours - the lag is the worst when I'm outside in Skyrim (audio fails to work as well), doesn't matter if I'm walking around or fighting a group of 15 people - I'm getting about 5-10 fps with often (what can get up to) 10 second freezes. I am level 27, 24 hours of play, 7.7mb save data, fat 4-port ps3."
62. mitchbutter - "One problem though is that i'm at my house in whiterun and Hadvar is still following me around? I don't understand. I can't even speak to him he just follows me."
63. olafpkyou - "38 hours in lvl 27. At a fresh start this game ran silky smooth for me but now at a ~6mb save, I'm starting to get drops in framerate and 1-3 second lock ups."
64. adam7781 - "Some frame rate issues when first starting the game... Problems got much worse around 5mb - 6mb: very low frame rates, sometimes to the point of being a sideshow, mostly in cities and towns. Had one full game crash so far."
65. Laza88 - "My game is stuttering and lagging now. I have a 10MB save and am 75 hours in."
66. Sneakmaster - "Shout intermittently not working when R2 is pressed in combat. Magic menu says 'cannot change shout while shouting' while this occurs. Sometimes when combat begins while sneaking, pressing L3 to get out of sneak doesn't work until it's been pressed several times. Using the d-pad to switch from bow to dual weapons takes 4 seconds. This is too long. Weapons switching in general is slow. If dual melee weapons are equipped and favourited, using a heal spell will often unfavourite one of the weapons. Increasing stuttering/slowdown during a gaming session. Arrows get stuck in my character's head and body and remain there for days. Getting hit by enemy NPC arrows removes them."
67. Exand - Too long to post, check near the top of page 6
68. Zionikk - "I am having issues. My game save is only 6.8megabytes. I TRY to play the game on a 250-Gigabyte Slim Playstation 3. When I enter combat the game starts to lag and it makes it difficult for me to attack my enemy. Also, I can just be wondering around in the wild and I encounter fps drops. Accessing the menu seems to be slow for me and the rendering is a bit slow. My quest also like to mess up."
69. Master Of Not Alot - "7MB save, 25 Hours of gameplay. Lvl 26. I have only completed the Whiterun portion of the main quests, was starting to work on Way of the Voice when lag started to kick in finally. I've finished the entire Companions questline, and I believe everything in Whiterun aside from the random bounties. Everything in Riverwood is done I believe. Started on the College of Winterhold but stopped when I "proved I was worth of entering the college." I've finished 2 Deadric quests and was working on Azura's quest. I have a few misc. quests, and Forsworn Conspiracy(which can't be finished due to the guards not attempting to arrest me glitch) and the quests from Ivarstead."
70. Alden Storm-Wind - "I have played for about 19 hours, save file size is approx. 5,8mb. Can't tell the actual framerate but the game "chops" every 2-3 seconds or so. Sometimes the game freezes for a couple of seconds. Battle against Whiterun was pretty nasty to play and now it's getting worse elsewhere too. I own playstation slim with 320gb memory."
71. Kuuro - "Stuttering getting progressively worse, sometimes the games comes to a complete stop for a second of 3 before resuming. I nearly had to resort to a previous save file which would set me back 5 levels, I managed to escape the Frost dragon with a potion of extended visibility which got extended well into 5 minutes as a result of the lag. 10 minutes and about a 100 yards later I could save and have since stopped playing. Level 24, Khajit, cleared about 30 quests and many, many pockets. Hit hour 42 and 7.2MBs on a 120gig Slim after narrowly (and slowly) escaping the menacing Frost Dragon. I was excited about that particular dragon as I had just slain 2 before it that went down without much of a fight and this one was giving me a slideshow run for my money."
72. Jayrey28 - "I got a 80 gb ps3 with 25 gbs of free space. My save file is 7483 kbs and I'm at about 40 hours or more in game play. Noticed when outside the frame rate drop to 2-3 frame ever 5 seconds and it has frooze three times, now. Only outside of cities, buildes, caves, etc and when I start fighting people, animals or dragons is when it gets really bad, too."
73. Loew - "Level 14, 21 hours in, 4,6MB save. Shout intermittently not working when R2 is pressed in combat. Magic menu says 'cannot change shout while shouting' while this occurs. Textures going wild. Almost all surfaces turning / blinking in once colour, often light blue or light brown. Snow textures are terrible. Dialogues horribly slow - sometimes interaction windows only appear after i cancelled my talking session - sometimes not before i click 4-5 times. Slightly slower gameplay - not as bad as others describe tho. ( yet )"
74. Berenziah - "Textures not loaded. World loading extremely slow. Shadows looking blocky, or a grid of lines. Item names appearing in red even though I can take them, not steal them. Basically alot of rendering problems."
75. Luthos - "My save file is 9.5-10.5 MB. My character is level 35ish. My save file is pretty large, probably 50+. My play sessions may start fine, but get bad quick. After an hour or so, maybe less now, it gets really laggy and stutters all the time. Mainly in cities or the outside world. I walk a few steps, stutter, a few steps more, stutter, activate the forge, stutter, in forge menu. It's constant little stutters that make it unplayable. I've tried uninstalling game data and whatnot but to no avail. It may seem smooth, but goes back to the laggyness soon enough."
76. mentaljoe - "my game is caving in on itself at 5.1mb save file. Stutters until it eventually crashes after about 1 hour and need to restart. Almost every time I kill a dragon, my system locks up completely upon absorbing it's soul, I have to run into the distance and put all my weaponry away for it to get past that screen. bizarre. I'm a level 20 red guard, 23.5 hours in."
77. HitmanSB07 - "Around 40 hours in, immense lag after about 30 minutes of gameplay, makes an action that should take about a minute(smithing) into a 5-10 minute long ragefest."
78. BlueOrchids - "First 15-20 were great. Then started getting lag and skipping. Now it's unplayable for me after 40 hours. Super frame rate chug (probably 5-15 FPS) and textures not loading on the ground mostly. Save file at 10mbs."
79. Gaahl_of_the_Frost - "About 40 hours/8 mb, insane lag in the wild. If I stand still for about a minute, it gets a lot better but still a bit jumpy."
80. Sanctum - "Playing on a 80 GB fat Ps3. No issues till i hit the 7 mb mark. I can play a little at all, but when a dragon fight starts or i am using fast travel the fps goes down to a horrible rate. Not playable at all."
81. OldGuardian - "Game WAS running smoothly for the most part. On rare occasions frame rate would drop and textures wouldn't load right away. However, once the save file data hit 7Mb I noticed frame rate, texture loading and lag has been occurring a lot more now. 30 hours of gameplay. 160GB PS3 Slim."
82. eedobaba - "I've played 55 hours and currently have massive lag spikes. Smaller lag problems started around 20 hours in though."
83. daenerysisadragon - "The game was playing just fine for me until I got about 15 hours in, and then things slowed down. I use all magic, so every time I switch out my spells (which is uh.. a lot), or dual cast, the game lags and/or freezes for a second or two. This makes combat way choppy and not very fun. Also, for the first time tonight I noticed that the textures weren't fully loading in. I was wandering around at night, and the road was just a flat grey. However, this is the only time I've experienced this and I hope it's not an omen for what's to come. Currently my saves are around 5-6mb, I'm at Level 14, 27 hours in, on an 80G Phat PS3. Oh yeah, and I have a broken quest too.. THE VERY FIRST STORYLINE QUEST."
84. Minionsz - "My save file is a startling 11MB in size. I've had to disable all auto saves and this only makes the game playable for 15-20~ minutes or so before I have to save and completely reboot the game. This is on a 120 GB slim ps3."
85. Cetaciane - "Level 32 at 117 hours, save file is 14Mb and it's getting so I can't melee in open areas or towns. I have to restart the game every 4th transistion."
86. Alpr - "I just realized my old character (lvl 8 mage) was deleted when I created a new character."
87. Zeeeeeeebra - "Save files hit over 10mb on Wednesday and it started lagging in the cities. Now my save files is 14mb and i can play for 1/2 hours before huge lag starts appearing. If i play for a few more hours i'll eventually have to reset the game because it feels like i'm playing the game with strope lights on."
88. Surrender - "7.5MB game save, getting really laggy in cities. Choppy in large areas with lots of textures and laggy. Playable at the time, but frustrating, just reached 30 hours in. Definitely won't be playable in a few more hours."
89. Total_Chaos77 - "50 Hours in (At least 15 of these hours were "inactive" periods. Where i had left my game running whilst i went to the shops/done housework/answered phone calls etc), Level 34 and a save game size of 11mb. Problems first arose after about 15-20 hours of actual gameplay (see previous bracket section) gameplay, and a 6mb gamesave file. Game runs pretty poorly for about 45mins-1hour, and then im watching a slideshow. No interaction is available, gaining control of my character through the LAG is an immense challenge and many more things i could say, but wont, as people have already said them all..."
90. Canecaneshane - "I'm over 8mb and it's lagging really bad especially when I'm fighting a dragon."
91. Ritual - "My save file is 11MB. I can play for a few hours before I start to notice it chugging a little bit."
92. Tchneq - "Im about 25 hours in, 7 gb save. Game clips at lot. Also my menu doesn't respond about 50% of the time."
93. Milliondollarman - "I just about reached Lvl 20, 6MB save file. Somehow when I UN-equip my weapon, the camera falls right behind the character and I cant seem to get rid of the bloody arrows stuck on me. Usually the camera in third person is farther out. The game has started to lag with considerable drop in frame rates. The X button is very unresponsive and I cant seem to find some quest characters. My horse keeps disappearing now due to the lag."
94. GasClown - "my problem with frame rate issues {begin} once I hit around the 5-6Mb mark (lvl 20). It's getting worse and worse as the game progresses, sometimes unbearable and downright annoying when you're fighting a dragon."
95. ganjgurru - "once I hit level 31 game crashed inside herb shop in Riften, now my ps3 refuses to turn on at all."
96. chhnkaw001 - "+53hrs gameplay, level 34, savedate size 12MBs+
97. Nightmare... first it is fine because I think the game is very detailed. But as it grows larger, it just lag seriously bad. I got as least 5 gameplay freeze which forces me to shut down the PS3. 2 loading freezes. I went to a shop trying to talk to the person but accidentally steal something, the person just said "Hey, hands off...", but nothing happened. And I kept the item and shop with the person. The lagging is everywhere, especially in the open land. The only smoother part is when I get a killing blow cut scene... Also I lag out during a fight where I see 2 dragons at the same time..."
98. FyBe - "File Size: 9.9mb. Gametime: 41hr's, lvl32. Playstation: Launch day fat 40gb. Problem: For first 1-2 hours no problems what so ever, after 2hr's slide show starts in wilderness or in towns with loads of npc's around."
99. Michael Enea - "3,4 MB and walking through Whiterun turns into a power point presentation"
100. Sorrow - "I just hit over 6mb on my save file and now I am getting a laggy framerate in dungeons and other indoor areas, the game world loaded incorrectly when I exited a dungeon, and a lot of textures are actually worse than they were before I loaded this save."
101. Abnormal - "Currently some 30 hours in, savefile 6.8 Mb - can play for a few hours before the framerate drops and I have to restart the game to be able to play proper. Also have two Misc quests stuck in my log. (joining thieves guild - already a member & talking to greta in solitude) Also can't seem to get the butcher questline in Windhelm to start."
102. smileyboyblue - "40+ hours played, 8mb save file, cant play for more than an hour without lag kicking in. Game started out okish, few glitches but nothing too major, around 30 hours major lag kicked in. I did all the changing ps3/tv display settings, turning off autosave "fixes" but I still cant play for more than 1 hour before the lag starts and I give up."
103. Pikeswrath - "I am running the game on a clean new PS3 160gb slim and I have about 80hours logged in the game. The general game performance started off fairly well with decent frame rates and load times but that began to rapidly degrade once my game save files exceeded 6mb. Two buddies of mine who are also playing on PS3s are also having similar issues."
104. Squoosh - "8mb, slight lag and the aiming has become unresponsive."
105. teras - "I was one of the people who had no problems with the game 40 hours in but as soon as my save game reached the 5,5 MB threshold, the game became very clunky. I also noticed that when I pressed the PS button to quit the game, the screen didn't respond immediately. This leads me to believe that the save file is just one of the problems."
106. STAR_KILLER423 - "My game worked fine at first. I started to notice it was getting laggy after long game sessions but it was usually as I was about to turn it off for the day. Currently I am around lvl 33, I have about 40 hours, and my save is around 10-11 mb. As i played more i noticed the lag would start sooner and sooner. at first it was just in cities and usually went away if i played through it for a few minutes. now I can play for about 3 hours (probably less now) until the lag kicks in. It is unbearable, always when i go to Whiterun or Solitude. It usually doesnt show up when I am in a dungeon or indoors but it is starting to."
107. kaio - "I'm around 40 hours in, Level 26, finished main quest and the mages guild. My save game is around 9,6 mb and growing. The game starts to lag after 1-2 hours in, but also earlier in cities or big combats. Restarting the game helps, but I fear that it will get worse, since it has been getting worse progressively so far."
108. ThinkAnarchy - "My save file is around 6 MB and my frame rate issues have improved slightly after turning off autosave and rebooting. The frame rates still drop to around 20 fps often though and becomes unplayable again after a while. Long loading times."
55.2. Erik Sigurdsson (update) - "1) When a kill a dragon it doesn't burn away with only a skeleton left and I don't get the soul. 2) When I turn into a werewolf, the wolf is holding whatever my last equipped weapon was and then swings that instead of using it's claws. 3) My loading times have now become very lengthy maybe twice as long as previously. 4) When I hand in completed bounty quests to Jarld Skald in Dawnstar the quest still appears as an open misc. quest. My savefile is now at 12mb"
109. Dorfmann - "I'm roughly 30 hours in with an 8mb save file. I lag in the following areas: any outdoor area, any city, any dungeon with any amount of mist."
110. Evanesco - "Save file is at 4mb and the slowdown is apparent and frustrating. Makes walking around a pain and I can't target distance enemies very well, which is frustrating because I'm an archer. Also, the game has serious issues with fire. The framrate drops by what I would wildly guess as 20, and the more fire there is, the worse it gets."
111. pedroiveroso - "I got the lag at about 8,5 mb.. Not really horrible but def noticeable. Loading times are also very long as the lag increases. Mannequins turn transparent when you equip them, weapon rack in winterrun doesnt work and you cant have multiple characters."
112. Grimnick - "I just stopped playing the game... after I hit 7MB, sprinting and dragon shouts stopped working and the framerate as been getting lower and lower since 6MB, now running at around 20 I would guess."
113. vista - "I was doing the "Elder Knowledge" quest but the librarian at the Arcaneum in Winterhold College will not let me speak to him so it's impossible to continue."
114. MattFisherDCV - "Current play time is around 33 hours. Level 21. Save file is 8MB. Moderate to severe lag spikes in Whiterun and Winterhold, but it usually clears up after a bit."
115. owain1122 - "Stuttering for the first hour and then complete slideshow after that. 12mb 45 hours."
116. Legendary_D - "55+ hours into the game. 10 MB saved file. Wasn't experiencing extreme lag until now. Lags are most evident in Whiterun. Playing on a 2nd Gen PS3 with an upgraded 500 GB HD which I thought would remedy the situation. Apparently not. Resetting when the lagging starts seems to help, not to mention after a reset, I notice the more cities/area I visited, the lagging becomes extreme."
117. Xivithis - "after completing the "Blood on the Ice" quest, Ulfric Stormcloak has not named me thane of windhelm, therefor, I am unable to purchase Hjerim as a home."
118. my problem is some lag and also some of my quests are broken and cannot be completed, one that I can recall is Blood on the Ice."
119.fleurydarochah - "Like most here, I have been getting some small frame rate drops. My file is at approximately 6MB. I can play the game normally for the most part... Frame rate drops sometimes. It happens mostly in and around Whiterun... Doesn't really happen in other places... But what's annoying me the most is the Ice Form shout... Whenever I use it I get a small frame rate drop just before freezing my foes. Sometimes it happens to other shouts too... But Ice Form is the worse. Also... sometimes I have to press X multiple times before the NPCs respond..."
120. Zidane Tribal - "Super framerate slowdowns, mostly in towns and around dragons. Game ALWAYS freezes after playing for an hour or so. Save file size is 8MB."Zidane Tribal - "Super framerate slowdowns, mostly in towns and around dragons. Game ALWAYS freezes after playing for an hour or so. Save file size is 8MB."
121. SammiiDoogles - "60 hours played, level 30, save file at 9MB. Framerate frequently drops to appear like a slideshow, entering a new area always means massive framerate drop for a few minutes. Engaging in combat means frequent drops of framerate. Encountered a few bugs since hitting 9MB; one instance I used the Call Odahviing shout and suddenly there was no sound; no in game sound, no menu sound, nothing - exited to menu, no sound, exited to XMB and there was still sound so it wasn't a speaker problem - reloaded the save and sound came back. Another bug where I killed a dragon and it's body didn't burn up to the skeletal form where I absorb the soul, it just stayed there with all its flesh and I couldn't absorb the soul. Framerate is generally rocky throughout."
122. jackpericles - "Stuttering after the save file reached 5 MB, but it was bearable and only in cities like Whiterun and the civil war battles. Now that I'm at 7+ MB, I've had two freezes and frame rate has dropped horribly (though I couldn't give any guesses to at what rate per second). Level 21 with about 26 hours play through on a PS3 Slim. I've had problems with the favorites and dual weapons when it's the same type of weapon. IE Steel dagger. It will only put the right hand one in hand. The bones of dead dragons tend to fall from the sky and rattle around when you re-enter an area. Also, I know the original thread dropped away on these forums, but I play on a SDTV and the font is microscopic and cut off around the margins of the screen (for lack of a better word)."
123. Ultimate Skyrim Fan - "freezing, major lag, everyone attacking me for no reason including people i'm doing a quest with/for, taking 5 or 6 seconds to draw a weapon and i'm bored typing them now because it goes on and on and on... arrows not registering on a direct hit, dragons refusing to attack even after being peppered with arrows, hit with spells etc. "
124. pnelly - "Game was fine i wanna say up to a day or two ago. Im pretty heavy on the conjuration side, and I can say now, with a 9.5mb save file, the game is almost unplayable for me. At first it was just when I had a bound wep and a conjur up, it would sutter slighy her and there was tolerable. But now no matter what the game lags/skips like crazy. lvl 37, ps3 slim. Outside, inside, no fighting just walking its horrid."
125. accension - "major problems with this game.second copy of this and i STILL cant get from riverwood to whiterun. what i am getting is a message "you cannot go this way" and fractured graphics when you turn right after you cross the bridge when leaving riverwood, and that is with following the instructions in the strategy guide. also cannot do the golden claw mission for the same reason. you can see the entrance to the dungeon where the claw is, same message and fractured graphics. i have the latest 2.0 update and im getting pretty peed off with it. have also tried going the long way round buy trying to visit another city and again, im stuck in the local region with fractured graphics."
126. mblack04 - "15 hours in. File size 8MB. If there is any snow or rain there is a slowdown and lots of stuttering. Dragon fights stuttering when they breathe at me. Indoors or out, fights with mages often lag to the point I see no spell cast but I get hit and often killed. Restarting doesn't really help. Autosave is off and all upscaling is off. I have the 120gb slim with more than half disk space free. All other games run just fine."
127. Despard - "File Size: 7300 mb. Issue: Severe Framerate issues anywhere in game."
128. BottomFeederJax - "On the quest "Season Unending" and Ulfric tells me to talk to Galmar, and Galmar says "I cant believe you got Ulfric to agree to meet with Tullius" or something along those lines, but I have not convened Ulfric, because no conversation tree is available!! Also the last dragon I killed did not disintegrate, he is just a dead dragon with all of his, and i cannot absorb his soul."
129. Bluearmy - "12MB in and i cant even play for 1.5hours straight until i get smacked in the face by falling dragons and slideshows."
130. Mekeji - "I started to see the issue as I hit 9MBs, it then got better as I did the quick fix things like deleting and reinstalling the install data. After I hit 11MBs that stopped helping and now I can't play for more that an hour before I have to stop for thirty minutes."
131. patillo - "I suddenly have no in-game sound. Reinstalling and/or reloading does not fix the problem. The sound works in the menu and with other games, so the TV isn't the problem."
132. Spellsword Khajiit - "Around 7mb I noticed the lag, like elder scroll games before this one I did away with auto saves. Restarting the PS3 seemed to set things right for awhile. 12mb now and restarting doesn't seem to help at all. I start skyrim over with a new character and there is no lag. None. 5mb in and I got lag again."
133. antoniobandino - "About 30hrs in, 8.5mb save file and within about an hour and a half of booting up the game, things begin to slow down seriously in towns and somewhat outside. Game often freezes for fifteen or more seconds at a time before unlocking. Both my brother and sister made their own accounts on the same PS3 and their files ran silky smooth until they both hit about 15hrs into the game and BOTH of their games suddenly began running very slowly with the same low-FPS. My PS3 plays all other games perfectly and is incredibly well ventilated, operating in an ice-cold 59 degree room because we haven't turned the house's heat on yet."
134. Rattus - "70+ hours in. 9.8mb save file. Lag started becoming noticeable at around 6mb and just kept getting progressively worse. Now I can't explore anywhere in the wilderness without having serious lag. Fighting dragons is next to impossible if I've been playing the game longer than an hour. Fighting groups of enemies looks like I'm watching slide show. Frame rate drops considerably in any major city. About the only thing i can do is sit inside my house and craft potions or fast travel to a dungeon."
135. okamiyazaki - "I am playing on a brand new PS3 160g, nothing else on it but Skyrim. The game ran great until about 6MB, when it started to lag, especially in cities. I'm at 9 MB now and luckily the lag is restricted to the cities still. I should add that I also get sound lag sometimes. I will shout and the sound will happen a few seconds after the effect."
136. LungBungler - "Slim PS3 160GB, less than a year old. Save file is around 9.9 mb. Problems started around 5-6mb. Game stutters like crazy after running for about half an hour. All auto-saves have been turned off. Problem has just been getting worse as the save file grows. I've also had about 6 freezes where I had to restart the system."
137. Death Toaster- "The lagg seems to be getting worse everyday.. I am thinking of killing everyone because when their are people around it laggs.. Also the Mannequins dissapear. My saves are 12mb..."
138. ZombieUnicorn - "In big cities with lots of people in it like Solitude, my game becomes unplayable, and it doesn't stop after that for a while."
139. choolim - "the game lag{ged} on me like how almost everyone is complaining pisses me off. It even hang on me the first time I loaded the game, halfway through the intro cut scene. (None of my library of 15 PS3 games hang even once!)"
140. parrisgg - "9 MB, game drops to about 1-2 fps."
141. subbecash64 - "Suddenly lost all savegames when my character reached level 14. All the data simply disappeared when i took a break from playing, i did not start a new character."
142. JaredB - "PS3 Slim (six months old) 500gb HDD. Lvl 35. 94hrs played. Save 14mb. {Game lags} My only quick fix is to save, quit , restart and reload save."
143. Chriscowley893 - "I've recently encountered a problem with my copy. I am no longer able to sell/buy items or buy skills and I can't finish a dungeon cause the button to get out wont activate, so my game is literally at a stand still."
144. Solobear - "PS3 Slim 320GB
10MB Save file. Loading times of 15-30 min to not loading at all*.
FPS drops when traveling on a horse. Happening almost everytime I try to start Skyrim now."
145. Pous - "After about 19-20 hours of game play on my thief/archer, I am no longer able to fire arrows. It is as if they hit an invisible wall and just drop to the ground."
146. Swimfan - "PS3 Slim 120 GB. ~12 hrs into the game/ 7,1 MB save data. FPS drops in cities and even smaller dungeons."
147. Szaadek - "Ps3 80 GB. 35 hours in, 9 MB save. Massive frame rate drops in bigger cities and while fighting multiple enemies at once."
148. Dark_Shiva144 - "PS3 Slim 250GB (European console), about 100GB free HDD space. German version of Skyrim: Played for about 8-10 hours, no issues whatsoever. Bought the UK version {as well}. UK version of Skyrim: Slight frame rate issues right from the start of the game, froze for the first time after approximately 2-3 hours of playing. Save file is now about 5MB and seems to be growing whenever I discover a new area. Also, I have noticed that corpses in my game apparently don't always disappear (waited/slept for 48 hours in-game and they were still there), which probably is part of the problem.
149. Michaelqwerty - "I have issues with my first character whenever I go back to Whiterun or any major city. I did the first dragon at level 30 on my Mage and the frame rate was beyond terribad. I couldn't aim well when the dragon was on the ground and had to chain cast conjure fire nymph or w/e in order to kill it. Plus, I get a few freezes where I have reset the PS3 in order to continue."
150. Thorzad - "I have the C{ollector's} E{dition}, 34hrs, 7.7 mb save file and have very minimal lag. Usually only notice it when I have been playing for 6 or 7 solid hours. I don't know if having the CE or regular version would make a difference but it might be helpful."
151. Paraclete - "120gb slim (bought it shortly after they released). I have 2 characters going: 1) lvl 37 save file is ~ 11mb 2) lvl 19 save file is ~ 6mb. Both characters started getting some weird slowdown issues when the saves hit ~5mb; after that, even with a coldboot the game would start lagging in bigger cities/battles with lots of effects going on. At first, coldbooting seemed to help, but now it makes no difference if I've been playing for 4+ hours or just turning it on. When I initially started my first character, during the opening sequence, the game was chugging at ~5-10fps; I don't know if that's related to the game saving more data to the HDD or what. The weird thing is that when I created my second (and also a test character), both times they lagged like crazy at the start as well (then cleared up once I was out into Skyrim)."
152. sindrassa - "im lvl 35 now i have played more than 50 hours by now and after about 1 - 2 hours its starting to lag and after 2 and more its like im playing online with another 30 people like today i was doing a db qst to assasinate the bride at her wedding and jeez o my [censored] god !!!!!!!! just getting to her while running in soltitude was freaking MAJOR LAG!! and after i had assasinated her i ran away and againt it was a MAJOR LAG!!! and whenever im in the open world LLLLLLAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG during battles LLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG."
153. Arcade23 - "120 gig slim, 6 months old, 60+ hours played, 9.5kb save file, sometimes the game lags really bad, sometimes it runs fairly well, but as my file size gets bigger it's obvious that the issues are popping up more often, and begin happening quicker upon starting the game up. It's very random though, sometimes when I'm just running through the wilderness,no enemies in sight the lag gets unbelievably bad, but for instance yesterday I was fighting a dragon, and within 30 seconds another dragon showed up, I was in the field and seen a mammoth in the distance so I kept moving towards him for some assistance which was useless since somehow one of the dragons picked him up and took him far away. I continued fighting the two dragons and in a distance I could see a third flying around, he kept coming closer and closer but never entered the battle, point being, is that with all of this happening, there was absolutely no lag at all."
154. rastelin - "My lag is random as well, sometimes when I am in towns, it starts to hicup skips likes a scratched disc or something, frame rate chaffs for 1 sec or 2 at times.. Also sometimes in wilderness on a road or something it stutters and freezes up for more then 1-2 seconds occasionally during battles, I cannot pinpoint every time this happens and I am not playing with a camera on my hip. I will say thou its strangely noticeable I have other ps3 titles, and in every one of those games I have never experienced anything like this.."
155. Welsh_dragon - "Had a couple of graphical glitches i.e. Dragon carcass' randomly appearing in different locations and Mammoth's falling from the sky on the odd occasion."
156. TrentB - "6 MB file I can tell the dragon encounter is starting because frame rate drops before I see or hear him.
Can not get married to Ulthgerd. Maramal does not advance the quest. Dead bodies of Marcurio Lydia are inside the door at Temple of Mara. I accidentally killed them while they were employed, they died before they were dismissed."
157. IamTheWalru - "Framerate issues, especially during dragon fights and large battles. Slows down so badly that when i attack about 6 times, i dont even see 2. Horse lag, able to climb an almost 90 degree angle mountain. Random Oculatis agents attacking me in Solitude days after I killed the emperor for DB quest. (i dont know if thats a bug, but its annoying) Save file getting progressively bigger, and excessively. Im only a lvl 22 and i have almost 9 mb of data, where there are lvl 40s with 7mb. Weapons not visible for a few seconds after drawn."
158. boingo_buzzard - "20 Hours in, Save file at 5.3 Meg. Slowdowns and lag in towns and in combats. Started when save file hit 5.1 Meg. Also random crashes. Game has crashed twice in the last hour of gameplay since topping 5.1 Meg. Have to hard reset the console. Fat PS3 80GB version (Metal Gear Solid 4 Edition)"
55.3 Erik Sigurdsson (update 2) - "Skjor has come back from the dead. He has been dead for quite some time now, I've finished the Companions quests and a lot of Companion radiant story quests (including all 3 Hircine totem quests) and today I strolled into Jorrvaskr and you can imagine my surprise to find Skjor sat at the table eating breakfast, ''but you're dead'' I think to myself, ''I avenged you''. I can even take quests from him. He isn't a ghost or zombie or anything, he appears exactly as he did before his little accident. I half expected him to tell me that stories of his demise have been greatly exaggerated but no, he has the ''looking for work'' dialogue option (all the other Companions/Circle are still there) Also my house in Whiterun is bugged. When I went back into it today all the furniture was gone, the pots and plates and food were on the floor and all the interior walls had vanished. Weirdly my wife, Mjoll, just stood there as if to say ''what? Something wrong?'' I can't put armour on the mannequins in my house in Solitude. I'm now at 13mb."
159. Okie TES Fan - "My save file recently reached 7,000 KB and I began lagging severely, 1-3 second pauses every 4-5 seconds, in and out of cities."
160. Andius - "320G Slim. 45 hours. Lagging in the "open" world but ok so far at dungeons. Some items in the inventory lose texture and look blobbed out. Stuck in loading screen - will never load. Will suddenly freeze when going out of a house (while autosaving)."
161. budheadz - "playing skyrim on a the new slim model 160gb, 80gb free space. all auto save turned off from around 45 hours playtime onwards. at just over 9.5mb save file now with 68hours playtime. i was on here afew days ago reading about this problem, and telling people how i had no issues with the game at 7.5mb and 40hours playtime. at around 8.5mbs is when the frame rate started to worsen, and it only went downhill from there. a simple ps3 reset helped to somewhere around 8.5mb file. after that resetting didnt do much, and then nothing at all. the frame rate drop and stuttering went form coming and going to being pretty much constant with mini freezes lasting a full second or 2."
161. Predmon - "Okay, first time posting here, but just to give you all some of my experiences and preach to the choir about the problems, I'm going to rant! I'm now at 75 hrs of gameplay, leader of every guild, minus the Blades, and a Legate of the Imperial army. So now my save file is reaching 14 mbs, and now pretty much from the word go, I hit lag in the overworld, regardless of there being a mob in sight or otherwise. Screen tearing has become excessive, and Shadowmere clips so much, its just kinda funny to watch. And just a minor complaint that goes along with buggy terrain, the Draughr (sp) Overlords can now use Shout Push, and I've had to restart several times due to glitching into the terrain."
162. TheDepredationsofMrDog - "My save file has hit 18mb...needless to say the game is now officially unplayable for all intents and purposes."
163. Pixuma - "Well i'm just shy of the 10MB mark, over 50 hours invested and am experiencing horrendous lag. Tried to do the Hail Sithis quest today, got to solitude and hit consistent 2-5 FPS! Unacceptable! I was noticing that it looked like much of it appeared to be the cause of a slow HDD and i considered upgrading to an a 7400 RPM or even an SSD."
164. lwio - "Just got over the 7mb mark and getting some lag, mostly just after leaving a room."
165. GingerPye - "9mb, level 22 ~ serious lag (mostly during ruin exploration/finisher moves) and really, really poor frame-rate. Chugging in general when walking/running/shouting/spell casting, also the music stops randomly."
166. RobRush - "Lv26, 9.5Mb save, PS3 slim 350Gb. MAJOR lag, so much so it's unplayable. Quitting and restarting worked for awhile, but the time I could play before lag started again got shorter and shorter. Last time lasted about 30 mins before I had to just turn it off."
167. Hexagore - "I got a slim 320Gb PS3 and I've played till level 26 for 38 hours. My save game grew over time and the frame rate started to chop around 7 mb and has become quite a stinch around the 8 mb mark."

Note: The point of this thread isn't to badmouth Skyrim or Bethesda. It's to compose a list of users and the problems they are having, in the hope that the devs can use it to figure out ways to fix glitches and bugs.

This is a copy of the post I made a few days ago. I've e-mailed Bethesda twice since I bought the game about a week ago and yet I've received no reply, not even an acknowledgment that they received my e-mail, which I feel is lousy of the company. They must also realise that games are incredibly expensive here in South Africa . Any here's my post; I apologise for it being so long. Hopefully I can get some sort of answer.

"I was wondering if anyone could help me.

I've being trying everything now to complete the last part of the Revealing the Unseen mission. I've put the focus crystal in to the machine and the survivor told me that I need to use a flame spell and a frost spell. I've tried both for the past few days, I've read guides, watched video walkthroughs and I've tried everything, nothing works.

Now I'm wondering, is there a bug that is preventing me from completing the mission, and if so; is there a patch or something that can sort this problem out. I know about the saving bug, but I don't think that should have a problem in my gameplay.

Oh yes, I'm playing Skyrim on a Playstation 3. I've tried my other new game (Assassin's Creed Revelations) and it's working fine, I've had my system checked out, and everything is working well.

Thanks. I'll appreciate any help or advice that I can get. I don't want to go on to something else till I've finished this.

Also the retailer feels that they are under no obligation to give a refund, because they are not responsible for bug issues in the game (and I can understand their point), so now I'm stuck with a game that I cannot play. I still have the proof of purchase, so what do I do? "

Oh yeah, I'm from Port Elizabeth in South Africa, so it's not like I can just go to the offices and have them sort it out and I don't own a credit card that I can buy online. I'm angry and seriously disappointed. All this money went to waste and I can't get it back and it's some thing I could have done something good with.

I am experiencing minor graphical glitches, minor lag issues when a lot of stuff is happening, and some odd physics issues.

- Problem with the "Blood's Honor" and "Purity of Revenge" quests in the Companion chain: when I complete the first of the two quests, the second one don't start as it should, and if I speak to Vilkas, I receive no chance to start "Purity of Revenge". I can't speak to other Companions in Jorrvaskr, too, because they're all "busy". I have 90hrs gameplay, lvl 47, savegame is around 8mb and my game run quite smooth (some minor FPS reduction here and there), for now. I play on a 320gb Slim PS3 buyed in fall of 2009.

LV21, almost 8 Mb. I have completed almost 10 MQ and more than 20 Misc Quests. My console is a brand new one (less than 2 weeks), a slim 320Gb version, and bought together with the Skyrim in the first release date of my region. I am fortunate enough to know this issue of lagging / shutter problem in the first 25 hours of my first game play. Then I tried all I can to minimize the no. of new unlock quests, items and opened area, etc. Still when my playing hours reached about 40-45 hrs with saving file size reached 7.5 Mb the same problem begins to be substantial. Shuttering problem begins when I am going out of the city, especially when ridding a horse. Going more than 2-3 cities in a single play session will caused me pain due to worsened shuttering. Such a performance of my console simply does not allow me to progress further, even to accept a few more new quests or going to a new city, that would probably means that I have no way to complete this game eventually and thus a complete and favourable game experience from Skyrim (this is not merely a "long term play performance" problem, but the reality of whether I can complete the game at least once.) I must say that I still believe Skyrim is a great game, given that my console and the software would allow me to finish this. I am not complaining but without a real patch I would definitely loss what I have paid for Skyrim.

(Re pl_: That's true, I wonder. To me it appears that the number of unfinished quest(s) does consume certain resource of the console. Still, I don't think this is a major factor to this problem, though.)

This seems to be the magic line for me too. Yesterday, I finished the main-quest of the college in Winterhold and became arch mage. Before that, I had a save file of ~7580kb and very poor performance. After I finished the Quest the savefile dropped to ~7350kb and I recognized a major improvement. It may be a coincidence or caused by the fact that after this the game could just reset the ongoing things in the college ... but visiting a city was much(!) smoother afterwards.

EDIT:
I didn't restart or rest in between. It was the same session (~2.5h) with two different visits (one before, one after) of Whiterun.
