Allowance

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 2:43 am

My kid asked me if she could have an allowance. It ranged from 5 gold to 1000 gold! What's the difference? Do they buy items with the gold?

My kids are not getting a 1000-septim allowance. Skyrim has enough spoiled brats in it already.

I wish they would spend the money on things though. That'd be a nice touch.

They must be spending it, I keep finding more stuff in their dresser, like fine clothes, fine boots, longbows, gemstones, potions, more sweets than I've ever given, books, all kinds of things. Lots of ingredients for potions, some of which I occasionally take. They have stuff they could have found outside, but some definitely not from around home! I also got green robes, but not red yet.

I told mine no allowance. She has not bugged me since and I still find stuff in the dresser. She got a doll and a dress and I let her keep a rabbit. No way she gets gold at her age... And no internet or phone until she is a teen..

I always give them 1000 septims every time since it's the only to lose money.

I have been giving them different amounts just to see their reactions. Their reactions to 5 septims cracked me up. Now that the fun is over they always get 1000 septims. I need to spend my money on something...

I just give them the 1,000. I have more than enough money so why not spread the wealth?

I've interacted with Runa a bunch of times, but never an allowance request yet! She does play outside in RIften a lot and tells me she hangs out with Brynjolf. So I'm assuming she's already been practicing the family trade in town and doesn't need handouts from me. *beam*

(Hey... Brynjolf has time for the kid but is too busy for his boss?! *scowl*)

100 septims and an elven dagger. That's all they get. Well, aside from assorted toys, sweetrolls, and other stuff.

Sometimes mine ask me if I brought them anything. I say sure and when I don't have anything, they say 'Aw, don't tease me!' LOL I don't do it often, but it's pretty funny. Next time they ask for allowance after I do that, I usually give them a high amount, but have never given 1000. Frankly, right at this particular moment, I don't remember what I normally give them, it's been a long week at work!

Both my daughters got 1000 allowance, enchanted and improved wooden swords. One is enchanted to set things on fire and the other to chase off the undead lv 15 or less. Those draugr that creep around Windstad are going to be in for a fight should they stop by. hehe

I gave them both dolls but have yet to see them play with them. I do find them constantly training in the basemant, or running around outside. I couldn't be more proud of them if they were real haha.

Don't be such a party pooper Oddish. How could you let the scions of The Dovahkin go for want? They would be the laughing stock of Skyrim.
Besides it would be an insult to the Divines, because Julianos himself blessed the Dovahkin from birth

I expect Balgruuf thought the same thing about his daughter (don't recall the name), and look what a spoiled little snot she is. Dr. Spock himself would want to spank her.

If you can give them enchanted play weapons and real daggers, then why stop there? What about clothing? Have you tried giving them enchanted clothing yet? Like enchanting their clothing with health and stamina spells?

I'm also wondering if it's possible to give them enchanted child armor like the ones from that daedric child armor mod. That armor set would make them nearly immune to most of the beasties which like hanging out around the homes. Hmmm.......

@Oddish: That's probably the only kid in the all of Skyrim who I wouldn't bat an eyelash at if she became orphaned.

LOL, hadn't thought about trying to enchant their clothes. There's no provision in the game thought to give them armor. They can't die anyway, thankfully!!

I give them 100 gold for an allowance but about 5,000 gold in enchanted weapons. Every week.

I'm training them to be Thalmor-killing machines.

Reminds me of what I used to do to the Lamplighters in F3. I'd reverse pickpocket Talon armor (I was a saint, so I harvested a lot) onto them, turn them into mini-mercs.
