I don't mean to say that you made a bad decision, but any economist will tell you that you could have spent$130 now had $370 in a savings thing like a CD. Worst case scenario is you have to cash in on the CD early, so you lose any interest, but if you don't then you make interest at a decent rate and you therefore net more money.

Too complicated, plus I have nothing else to spend money on, I had the cash for it saved, and... Yeah. Shelling out $500 doesn't yet make me cringe. That will change REALLY fast when I get my own place and expenses though.

And given that GPUs don't exactly appreciate in value well after a few years... your argument of shelling out now instead of later is flawed (unless you just burn money instead of pocketing it, but then you have bigger problems)

I burn Pentiums, does that count count as money? :P

I dont know about this. I am very happy with my 6970.......I am one of those people if I cant run the games at max....time for an upgrade.

Sure, nothing wrong with that. I've certainly been guilty of it in the past. If you're looking to get the most bang for your buck over time, though, it's not ideal to go for the latest and greatest.

Edit:
Sort of off-topic, but I was just poking around Newegg.com, and they've been nearly sold-out of 6970's for nearly a month, now. What's up with that? I don't think I've seen them "clean house" on a part like that before.
