Any Quirks?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 4:59 pm

For example ... mine is that I am simply compelled to turn on every single Ham radio I come across!
Yeah, I know they don't do a bloody thing but I just can't seem to help myself.

How about you?

Phew! I'm not alone then! There better be ones that at least do something!lol!
One of my favourite bits from the last one was the evil dude from raven rock speaking to you through a ham radio. It finally felt like they have a reason to exist.

Since I got jury rigging, I pick up every single weapon, and try to figure out how to maximize the value of the weapons I'm carrying with minimal weight. Also, I buy every weapon mod I find. I don't have to bother digging through crates for salvage anymore, because I sell it all back to merchants I have discounts with and make a killing.

Ok, i don't even know where to start, so many things that i never really noticed that i did where brought up in this thread. I always search every single container i can find really rapidly, often even the empty ones, there could be a long row of lockers that are all empty, and i just go across each of them and press 'a' to see whats in them.

I also exhaust every single dialogue option with every person i talk to. when i don't feel like listening, i just click 'a' real fast through every dialogue just in case they give me a quest or something.

A weird thing that i like to do is gib the limbs of 'important' enemies and then leave their decapitated head in plain sight, like on a table or something. I've only had a few chances to do it, since i only do it to 'leaders' essentially (Dead Sea for example).

Also whenever im staying in one area for i reason, i rotate my joystick in a circle real fast and watch my person do that weird one foot twirl thing without him/her actually really moving

I can't help dumping dead bodies over the edge of buildings, bridges, cliffs, etc. Rolling severed heads down hillsides is a bad habit too.

I like to collect every single weapon I can get my hands on, unique or not, and then throw 'em into my room. So whenever I enter my Motel Room, I receive infinity lag because of the hundreds of guns everywhere..

I also have a habit of constantly drinking Sunset Sasparilla, even though I'm at full HP. I like the taste~

For me, this is just like real life!!! LMAO!

Ok, my quirks are -

Ham Radio's - turn everyone on!! Even to the extent that if i enter a room and i have already turned it on, i turn it off them back on!

Normal transistor radio's - see Ham Radio's.

Having to exhaust every single piece of dialogue with everysingle person. To the extent where all the conversations do not have any highlighted text remaining.

Taking every piece of money i can find - NCR, Legion Denarius, Aurius, pre war money, caps the lot

If a red marker appears on my screen i have to hunt it and kill it - and thats with ED-E's long range finder

Opening every stall door - like someone mentioned before, this comes from FO3, where sometimes there was loot or a trap or an enemy in the stall.

Searching through every container in every room of every building. WHAT IF I MISS SOMETHING!!!! lol

When i am in an area with multiple doors, exits, rooms etc i will search through the area i am in first. I will not go through a door where it leads me to another area. I will only open doors that are simply marked "door" before going through one that requires a load.

There are probably alot more things i do, but to me they dont seem strange or weird or anything!!! lol

On a slightly different note, during the quest where i needed to find the rocket fuel for that ghoul cult thing. It was mentioned that the toy rockets for sale in Novac gift shop ( inside the dinosaur ) contained the required fuel for the space craft. Yeah, i took everysingle toy space craft there. I now have like a million toy spacecraft stuck in my inventory. Good job they are quest items and dont count against the weight!!!

The ham radio thing is funny. I do that too, but I know why. When I first got Fallout 3, I read somewhere that activating the ham radios would update your progress so that Three Dog would talk about what you've done.

I don't think that's true, but I started activating them everywhere I saw them, and I still do.

There is one curious ham radio that I've found so far...

Spoiler
If you find Ranger Station Charlie before talking to Ranger Andy in Novac, there will be a couple of NCR guys there and a ham radio on the desk that acts differently from the others. I don't remember what it said at the moment, but I never found a use for it, and after talking to Andy, the radio is busted when you come back.

My main character has Very Good karma. He will only kill people if they show up red on the radar. Even so, I feel compelled to hide the bodies after a fight. I'll drag everything to an open dumpster or else hide them in a large piece of scrub if outdoors, or if I'm out by the lake I'll toss them in. If I'm indoors I'll dump them all in a closet or bathroom and close the door. It's not so much I'm ashamed of what I did or feel like I've done anything wrong, just feel that decent folks passing by don't need to see stuff like that.

Oh, I also am Neutral only, If I go a little bit good, I reload a save, Or mistersandman someone and turn them into fast food..

And I sometimes shoot people and move there bodies and make their death look like a suicide.. Um.
OH, And I ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, Carry waaaaaaay too much ammo. I always have about 100+ rounds of each gun because I get worried i will die without them.

I have too many. Something drastic doesn't come to my mind, but I do have some obsessive stuff lol. I do press 'V' A LOT when the map indicates an enemy nearby. Since I hav Ed-E. I end up pissing my fingers untill VATS finally captures the enemy. xD Something alongs of "Tananananana...nanannaa!" "VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV" "zhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" "Oh....It's a small scorpion."
