No
I collect meaningful crap like books :D
Equally pointless in terms of benefit to the character, to each their own

I would but it's too hard to place them anywhere. For example, bookcases. I'd like place Dwemer cups or bowls in them for use as bookends but I can't. I'd also like to replace all the plates and cups in my Breezehome house with Dwemer artifacts but just trying to decorate a table with 4 or 5 pieces would take hours. And then the next time I came back they'd probably be knocked over somehow.

I collect alcohol. I also have lots of charcoal, which I thought would be used in smelting. Having realised my mistake, I can't be bothered to get rid of it. Oh, and quills. No idea why.

All ingredients I see, which includes breaking into people's houses and stealing Garlic, Frost Mirram and Elves Ear. It's all for getting my Alchemy to 100 "later" which never actually comes.

Basically yes. I think I've got some sort of collectors-syndrome in Skyrim. :)

In an attempt to un-clutter my game I have made Breezehome my personal landfill. It works fine except when I really need to find something that I dumped there. And I can't bring myself to "markfordelete" or "disable" anything.

Skulls. Piles of skulls. I call the room "Skull Room". Yes, I know, very original.

Edit: I do collect some books too. I found I like reading the storys in this game. Some are very good. Including one about a family who had to help their daughter who was dieing. Man, they didnt know what to expect when they met necromancers. Ha!!!

No. Beyond books, scrolls, gems, big potions, expensive weapons and apparel, and of course gold, I collect nothing. If I need smithing materials, I either buy them (I'm filthy rich, I can afford it) or mine it (which I don't consider "junk scavenging").

In fact I sometimes rage when I accidentally pick up a random basket or a linen cloth, because then I have to go into my inventory to drop the item and its cumbersome and slow and a general departure from the action at hand. Grr.

One of the best passtimes in FO3 aswell as Skyrim was/is decorating your houses with useless crap, what's not to love? :bunny:
EDIT: add to that the actual challenge of manual decoration in Skyrim now that items are infused with the very essence of frustration and trolljuice.

Seriously...there are kids in Skyrim and no toys to collect. It breaks my heart as a collector and I have nothing good to drop on my bed.

Each of my characters collects a different assortment of useless junk. It keeps me interested while dungeon diving. All of my characters in Skyrim pick up every tankard I see (this is a continuation of my coffee mug obsession that started in FO3 and continued in NV), every gourd, and every Flagon (that was ghoulsrpeople2's idea, but I stole it from her and now my characters do it too) and my current character, along with a bunch of other stuff, is obsessed with lanterns.

Gourds have to be the ultimate useless item. No use for cooking, not worth bothering with for healing, can't even sell them for anything. I'm starting a gourd collection now! Thank you!

I gather books by collection (Dwemer & Dunmer, Thieves, Assassins & Nightingales etc.) and spend quite a while organising my shelves in an aesthetically pleasing manner. My main also collects dwemer artifacts and owns many items of clothing. He also collects (deals) skooma and moonsugar and has a fondness for rare alcohol. The character I've just started has an interest in bows, arrows and other hunting gear.

I love to collect Centurion Dynamo Cores, they glow with a red aura, every time i find them i put them all around my house. I also like collecting Statues of dibella, though i have only found 3 so far, they look nice just above a fire place or on a shelf in each of my houses. I just wish the placement wasn't so freaking hard to do.
