My girlfriend does this, but I never have. It just seems like more trouble than it's worth.

Instead of mannequins, I prefer mods that let me have more follower with sandbox and full dress up, that gives me mobile decorations. Cass, Veronica, and Sunny do a great job decorating the presidential suite in New Vegas.

The thing that makes me scream and throw the controller is not getting killed by a skeever during a dragon battle, it’s when Marcurio knocks over the platter of soul gem fragments. Dammit, Marcurio!!

I am still trying to get the butterfly jar upright. Some day…

nice to know its not only me going through this, what can only be described as bethesda personal torture tactics, " hey heres a cool butterfly in a jar, you can put it in your house, but the challenge is can you make it stand up" and when you do it will be thrown across the room next time you leave. all that effort wasted lol, it hurts bad

Cool action figures! And I really like the way you've arranged the armour collections on the shelves.

With regards to the figures, what I thought would be cool are little scale versions of the daedra shrines you can collect and place in your house. Has anyone done a mod of that? They would perhaps be more realistic. I love those figures but I personally wouldn't use them as I can't see how such a thing would be made.

In oblivion and fallout 3 I had many things meticulously placed around my home, I find it too difficult to do this in skyrim though and once when I somehow managed to line up 3 dibella statues in my home 2 had magically flown across the room when I next came home, the 4 insect in a jars on a small table in my markath house is the crowning achievement of my adventures so far.

I'm playing New Vegas now and god I can't believe how easy it is to place things after playing Skyrim. Like you, I keep at it no matter how frustrating it is. I find potions the easiest to do actually, once they stay put. You can grab them by the top and stand them up.

Nice job. I tried moving an urn in Breezehome and then eventually tried smashing it against the wall and throwing it down the stairs just to make it pay for the misery it had caused me and STILL no satisfaction!

I play the PS3 version and found the decorating to be a bit easier and then found out PS3 no like home decor in Skyrimz. PS3 decide to make things teleport back to where they were when you dropped them. Haha says the PS3.

Seriously. You think having trouble turning something over is bad? Try committing a day to decorating a house on the PS3 version and then walking out of the house and returning to find all that time was wasted after finding all that hard work on the ground and probably secretly laughing.

I was never able to get the telekinesis spell to work for me in Oblivion. Is it easier to use here in Skyrim?

Ha ha!!

If you'd just seen the Mythbusters ep about being stranded on a deserted island with only duct tape, you'd see why that is truly funny.

I mostly just create piles of stuff, like I got a pile of 80 or 90 books in the alchemy lab in my house at whiterun if I don't organize them soon I wont be able to walk into the room.
Whenever I try to move stuff around I spend most the time trying to get the item right side up really don't know why but everything just wants to be upside down
So I usually give up after a minute or two and then create dedicated spots where I heap certain items in a pile.

I feel you. Trying to place the bust of the grey fox on a table and finally getting on feels awesome. Until you leave and enter and find it on the floor.

its already been said, but you have to drop the items, leave, re-enter the cell, and then decorate.
not so terrible, if you think ahead.

furthermore, if you have skyrim on pc, just use the creation kit. decorating your house will be easy.

as for me, i like to decorate my houses a little bit, but generally i just leave all the clutter bethesda already put out, as theyve done a fine job as is, and also there is always a handful of items, (like those thin deer skulls) that i couldnt move if i wanted to. so i just dont bother.

on a lighter note during my first playthrough i spent like 2 hours fixing up honeyside, mere seconds before finding out a mission i was on was broken, i was so pissed i deleted all my saves....
