Samsung is one of the largest corporations in the world and Apple actually uses Samsung components for their products such as the iPhone and iPad.

Apple is sueing Samsung and say that they are copying them. That's the most pathethic thing I have ever heard. I totally feel like Apple's only scared about losing market share and they require a lot of market share for things like iTunes to even work, for videos at least.
Apple phones still cost a ton on PayG while phones like the Samsung Galaxy S2 are better than iPhone 4 and are CHEAPER.

Every time I meet some ICT freak who knows everything, they hate Apple.
Every time I meet someone who knows nothing at all about phones they love Apple, telling me it's easy to use.. (seriously?)

Is our world really this stupid that companies like that run the market? I remember when people knew everything about the product they bought. Now it's all just teens with iPhone 4 who don't even know what kind of apps they can use (yeah pre installed ones too)

Yes but like I said Samsung is a very large corporation and Apple did not sue the same Samsung that is making the hardware for Apple. :P

Yeah they sue the part of Samsung that they don't want to sell in America. How idiotic do they have to be to actually want that? If they knew that they're product is any good they wouldn't even ask for this.

They sued Smsung for stealing their design... and I have to admit that they had a point, the Samsung design was eerily similar to the iPhone. But then again so are hundreds of other smartpone designs. :)

Well, I had a Samsung phone, but now that the warranty period is ending, I've been dragging it to the store for repair over and over again. In fact, they're right now repairing what they should have repaired last time but obviously only fixed temporarily.

Plus the customer service of Samsung here is the pinnacle of intelligence "We recommend a reset to manufacturer settings. To do that, enter XYZ on your phone." "Folks, I told you it's a touchscreen phone and it ain't booting up. Care to tell me how I am supposed to enter anything?" "Oh, yes, you're right, you should sent it in then..."

I actually really like Samsung. I've used their products for about 4 years now and they are really durable. They know how to make a good smartphone and made it last too. :3

Apple of course is the master of aesthetic appeal, but not just yet the masters of User Interface.

Exactly.. every smartphone looks like this. It does not make ANY sense to say that they stole the design. There's loads of phones that look like BB's but nobody cares. Apple is trying to find as many reasons as possible just so they can sue them and hope they get an advantage because they know that Samsung will take over slowly. Once people open their eyes and realise Apple is not a religion they'll just switch to Android and stop paying £20 more just because of the brand name.

All I'll say is that I'm getting tired of Apple's commercials. You know, the one's that show all of these great, life-enriching scenes all somehow involving one of their products and then they say "if you don't have an _____..." like we're a bunch of hopeless dregs if we don't own their products. What pretentious [censored].

That sounds terrible but there are customer service problems in every company. You can find people who had issues with Apple too.

I've had 4 phones in my life and 3 of them were Samsung phones. Right now I have a Samsung Galaxy Gio and I love it

Samsung is pretty reliable as far as I know. My first phone was a Nokia one and it broke after 4 months but I still have all my Samsung phones and they all work.

I find them pathethic too. All this "simple" and "easy to use" crap gets on my nerves.

Hell, I DON'T want an Apple product and at the same time people seem to think that Apple is better than other products just.. cause it's Apple? I seriously had people say this.
"Well it's an Apple.." The second braindead people buy Apple they seem to turn into some kind of IT geek and tell everyone that because the item is from Apple it's the best product ever.
The fact that these people actually argue with you and give comletely stupid arguments doesn't make it any better. Years ago arguing used to be about tech specs and good reasons. Now it's all "It looks better.. so.."

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and I just can't imagine using the iOS.. The fact that they call it a smartphone and you can't even have something so basic like widgets makes me wonder whether they're actually trying to improve their OS at all.

iOS isn't that bad... it's just their (Apple's) ridiculous policies that I have a problem with.

iTunes is not a profit centre for Apple. its run on a break-even basis as an incentive to buy more of their products.

That said, Apple sees Market share is a secondary consideration. They are trying to place their products at the "Aspirational" end of the market, the higher value customer.

If Apple were "Scared" about losing market share, they'd start releasing cheap trashy products

I'll admit, I enjoy Apple products, I am a huge fan of the iPod Touch. But the iPhone...no. As some of you know, I'm a huge fan for aesthetic appeal. If it's pretty, I like it. If it's slick, I like it. If it's sixy, I like it. I go on what I see.

The Apple iPhone 4 is very very pretty. :) But the item in general is just awful. WiFi to video chat, making the front facing camera nearly useless, awful User Interface. It's big and boring on the inside, looks just like an iPod Touch, nothing new in terms of the interface. That's why I like Android. They revolutionized the User Interfacing system with their signature clock. A pretty thing it is. :3 They're both really cool, but in terms of actually being a GREAT phone inside and out, I say Android.

I like Samsung too though, kind of got off topic there. But I love Samsung's Smartphones, they're just....better than iPhone. :P And I will say that Apple's commercials are very d*****baggy, but are quite eye catching. :P

That's all just marketing. Higher value customers.. really?
To me that sounds like they're trying make their customers feel better. That's all. They want people with no money to save up to buy an iPhone because they'll feel like they are a "higher value customer".

I have seen people with iPhone 3GS only because it's an iPhone even though it is so bad now they still buy it instead anything else. Apple uses seriously stupid marketing techniques.

@Seti: I don't know, they all immediately become outdated in a year when the new one comes out, the interface is hideous and it's overly expensive. Why pay so much for something that will be obsolete in a year? But when people have money pumping through their air conditioning, I guess it's a sign of grandeur. "I just got the new Mac. I threw my old one away, a year's too old to be owning a computer anyway. :brokencomputer: "

Well, lets start with that, it is a PC. Runs Windows too.

OSX is a strong OS - Its Unix after all; peronally I think for the day-to-day stuff it performs better and quicker and seems to be easier on the battery. It puts a lot of maintenence stuff in the background (its my understanding that defrags are done when the system is idle, instamatically).

And Apple's support is top notch - they keep topping the Customer Satisfaction index for IT by a wide margin.

Oh nonsense. Doesnt become obselete any quicker than any other PC - it is a PC after all.
