Archery is really weak and I don't know why

To the OP and others who have a problem, I hope it gets fixed soon. I know how frustrating that can be to a bow user.

In my case (PC user), after installing the game and making my first character (Assassin/Thief/Bow user), my arrows flew about 2-4 feet and that was it. Drove me crazy for 4 days. Looked at the in-game help section which told me the use the R key to fully pull back the bowstring. This was strange as I had read that you're suppose to use the mouse key to pull it back to max position - but I thought they changed something at the last minute.

Finally, after 4 days I was talking to another player who said go into this section of the game and click on the button to reset your keys back to default.

Seconds later, I'm in the game shooting arrows like crazy - got my first head shot kill, etc.

Seems when it installed itself, the game made key assignments randomly, making me use the R key to shoot arrows. That key is used for a lot of different things in the PC game, but shooting arrows is not one of them lol. And, it put that in the Help section - that was really weird. So, after resetting the keys to default, I look at the help section, and now it says to use the mouse button.

Very frustrating.

Good luck.

its a tard concept...Coating a gun with teflon doesn t create Armor Piercing Amunition.
IF the bow is magicked why would it create magic ammo ?
If i imbue a bow with healing spell the arrows will heal people then ? So i should shoot myself ? LOL.
Teflon is not magic.
Bow enchantments are magic.

Actually I pressed different buttons last night hoping something would give. I'm sure it's RT for xbox though. I hope it'll sort itself out tonight.
Fingers crossed

So yesterday I tried some things.

Loaded game and the problem still existed. I got in and out of sneak, in and out of 1st and 3rd person, shooting about 30 arrows. I went button crazy.

And to my surprise it worked!

One happy archer ;-)

Hopefully this will help other people also.

I really miss the time someone had a brain in TES gameplay design team and you enchanted the arrows and not the bow for extra damage in archery.
The bow is the source of power. Arrows are but a conduit.
