Are my eyes lying to me?

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 4:39 pm

No, lmfao. I haven't been on an SD since Halo 2 friend. I play on a full 1080p hdtv.

And trust me, I tend to notice graphical errors ALOT. Not just with this game, I have very keen vision. So when something all of a sudden changes how it's SUPPOSED to look.. how can I not get suspicious?

And at the very same time PS3 is actually able to finally play the game? Yeah... no. I think the rumor about BGS lowering graphics resolution to help out the PS3 was completely true. Not one mod/admin/dev would deny it everytime I brought it up? So it's gotta be the truth. (Of course again, unless killmoms wants to correct me by saying otherwise) Then I'm right.

It's sad when the generation of gamers nowadays will take whatever is given to their eyes with no avail. That is sad truthfully. I'm sure if they degraded them all the way down to murk and mud you guys would be like "What are you talking about? My Skyrim looks AMAZINGNZZZ!!11!!"...

Cause that's all I've heard.. and from those people I've seen picture examples.. and there game looks WORSER then mine. Yet it looks "amazing" to them?...

Need I say more?
The developer actually told you there was no difference, you're starting to sound a bit like Jude Law in Contagion.

Umm.. let me correct you here. 1st off.. he didn't literally say there's a difference in graphics, NOR, did he say that graphics were going to be changed. He said:

"Being the person who captured the footage used in the Kinect video, I can 100% guarantee that this footage all came from the Xbox 360 running the latest version of Skyrim."

And you can't run it with Kinect under 1.5 as someone else stated. So it's without a doubt he's on 1.6 (or testing it even) and there could be a possible graphical improvement in the patch.

Reading is a wonderous gift.

So now you're complaining that... what, exactly? That they lowered the graphics, but more so for other people, and they're now raising them back up? How about some screenshots of your game, if it's as good/bad as you say it is.

I doubt that they have already finished everything in the patch, and I'm assuming the Kinect support is apart of the patch. But in any case does it really matter? You're geting beter graphics it's not like Bethesda has some big conspiracy to give consoles bad graphics, I thought it was common knowledge that in general PCs were more expensive but had better graphics.

Why does it seem like to you guys that I'm complaining about "better" graphics? I'm trying to get the truth, not slander it.

Even treasure chests look better, there's just no way that this is current patch footage. I keep watching this over and over to see and again I swear draw distance is much better in the Kinect trailer. You can literally see the whole world before you. And I'm positive in my game that it's not like that.

I even know people like myself that have bushes/rocks/trees/even NPCs just randomly pop up in our faces THAT'S how bad Draw DIstance is. And to all those who asked me for video/screenshots obviously did not read my signature.. at all.

You all should stop acting like a bunch of pissed off teenagers.

I just compaired them with my skyrim fired up & guess what, same. I went to the same place & studied things in the distance. It actually looks better on mine but only because I tuned my t.v to be perfect.

"No."

"I don't believe you."

Then why did you bother asking?

Seriously.

Dude, get a better TV, or at least play with the settings. My games look awesome on my 3D HGTV, but they only looked so-so on the default settings. Once I got the color, brightness, contrast combination just perfect (and the in-game brightness setting) it looks fabulous... especially in 3D.

No thread in this forum can be started unless there is some sort of complaint no matter how silly. Didn't you get the memo?

I have a "Viore" 40" 1080p HDTV. It looked great with default for a while, but once I changed it a bit it's much better. Learned this from playing other games.

I know my TV isn't perfectly professionally calibrated mind you, but it still looks good. Esp. since it's an off-brand Wal-Mart TV pretty much. Ask for an Emerson.. got this..

Still a way better TV then what I currently had. A cheap HDMI cord I got from GameStop ruined my audio/picture.

It's just the fact I got this TV was around 1.3 Patch and the game looked damn near like PC graphics, noooo lie. Then I got 1.4 the day it came out, and my graphics were complete crap. Draw distance svcked, textures wouldn't load on ALOT of objects and in the environment. Trust me I could instantly know my Skyrim looked different, this isn't my 1st Bethesda game people. Lol.

TL;DR - Who knows? Maybe 1.5 fixed the graphics cause my game has been awesome looking. It could just be there TV is 10x better then mine. I don't know.. don't care anymore because I've gotten no other responses from anyone major about this question.

editted to fix typos.

So the "Gods" , or more the recorder of the activities of the Gods, visit the Forums as well.

Will we have aim controls via voice, move aim three degrees left and two degrees down, I can not get the hang of the XBox Controller aim as compared to the PC mouse aim.

Being old and decrepit I guess.

No, please, don't say anymore. Anyone that proceeds to chastise people and then uses "worser" in a sentence should stop while they're ahead before they really make a fool out of themselves.

What TV they were using is irrelevant because they are recording the video signal, not the screen with a camera.

The only other explination might be they used a dev console.

And...

" I've gotten no other responses from anyone major about this question"

Really? The guy who fillmed the damn footage isn't "anyone major"? What more could you possibly ask for?

Ahem... PC user here. Although I have played the 360 version at a friends house recently so I know how the game looks like on the 360 (60" HDTV). This footage doesn't look like it's from the 360 version to me. The draw distance setting on 360 and PS3 AFAIK is permanently set to the equivalent of 'medium' on PC. This looks like at least 'high' draw distance to me (look at the distant mountains). And probably some kind of anisotropic filtering was also used to make the textures sharper. This could be an 'enhanced' 360 build they used to record all that '360 footage' before skyrim was released, with added kinect support. But, I dunno. It's pretty subjective. Just my 2 cents.

I have both the 360 and pc versions and this trailer looks like it was made with a dev build for the xbox with enhanced draw distance. Just opened up skyrim 1.5 on the 360 and went to the locations visited in the trailer. Nope, the graphics don't look that crisp (and the shadows are blockier) in my version. There might be some truth to what OP is saying, but I don't think console users will get a graphics upgrade anyway.

This.

And, in case you can't read, OP, the very person who recorded it said Beth was using the latest version of Skyrim, which means 1.5, not some mythical 1.6 patch that we're not even aware exists yet.

Crap thread is crap and needs to be locked. Should have been locked as soon as your question was answered, honestly.

Can your eyes lie to you?

I wouldn't put it past them, after all: What the eyes see and the ears hear, the mind believes.

Also, I call 'reasonable doubt' due the the PC's quick-save and quick-load being used, but for all I know, that could be implemented on the consoles.

It may be that the consoles have quick save and load, but it's also more likely that they are running the console version on a modified "developer" version of the console which functions more like a computer. It has the same graphical output, and the game disk and data are the same, but it has a lot more capability for things like saves, loads, and camera movement.

The quality of your TV can have an affect. Even if you've been playing in HD.

When I upgraded from 1080p on an LCD to 1080p on an LED (and overall better telly) then the game looks stunning.

The textures look about the same as on my 360 from what I can tell, but my draw-distance is definitely not as good as that. It's not a major difference, but it's noticeable. Water also seems to look a bit better than on my game.

Was it captured on a devkit console? While spec-wise, they're the same as a standard 360, they do support nonstandard settings.

Anything looks good at the resolution of web video. Besides doesn't Xbox Black edition support 1080p anyway?
