Are there dragons in this game?

To make Dragons spawn, you must bring the
Spoiler
Dragonstone to the Whiterun Wizard
afterwords, random dragons will start to spawn. There are multiple dragons in the main story as well, but so long as you reach the point stated above, they will spawn.

Try running around in the fields and valleys outside of Whiterun.

Try FTing to Riften they pop up outside there often for me.

Seriously? Do I have to shout an NPC or just "in the sky"? :obliviongate:

Just in the sky, but where other people are around. They might take offense if you shout a person.
I think every region has a courier, so do it around different cities.

OP you will get Dragon spawns the most if you do the main quest up to ACT II, then you can go on with the game. They will spawn at open towns and other areas then.

The thread title reminded me of Jurassic Park...."Eventually you plan to have dinosaurs in your dinosaur tour. Right? Hello?"

I get dragons all the time outside of Whiterun and Riften. I have also fought a few dragons within the city limits of Solitude. Hop on a horse and go for a ride, before long you'll encounter a dragon.

Play the storyline a bit. After you have recovered the dragonstone, dragons will start to spawn.

Do some greybeard word of power quests. Those sometime point you to dragon infested altars on high mountains.

Alternatively, just fast travel around the map. Dragons seem to spawn with you as you fast-travel.

There's a dragon statue in Ebonheart, but besides that I don't think there is any dragon.

Ok seriously, just push the storyline to the request of Whiterun's Jarl. Once you'll get the dragon attacking the tower the other dragons will spawn. I stopped the storyline there and it works fine.

News - at 41~ hours in and level 23 I encountered my second dragon! Had to stop playing after that, but hopefully the fire-breathing floodgates have just been opened.

Nope, I was wrong. No Dragon for me. Game glitched too badly, couldn't even shoot at the damn thing. It was flying around backwards (more like hopping backwards with horrible framerate) and then disappeared after taking several arrows, none of which registered it's health.

I mean that, not as much of a troll as you think. I am over 36 hours into the game now and have not seen a single Dragon since the one in which afterward you 'discover' that you are the Dragonborn. Now, to be fair, I have since avoided the main story and have probably spent 1/3 of my time in dungeons BUT, I know I heard Todd Howard say there would be roaming Dragons as well as the story-based spawns. I am frankly disappointed that I am level 22 and haven't seen another Dragon yet.
oh my gosh. 173hrs in now and I wish I had your problem. Everytime I leave or enter a city either by walking or carriage, a dragon shows up. I can just be exploring a new area, a dragon shows up. I have literally been talking to someone or about to do a quest, a dragon shows up. I lost count at 28 dragon souls. This has been happening to me since I visited High Hrothgar the first time. At one point, it got so bad, I was starting to get annoyed by the dragon attacks. Now I am enjoying them again, because the game is sending harder ones after me and they have varying attack styles. Up to Elder dragons now who usually end up eating me if I get to close. For the longest time, I had only completed 7 of the main quests. Now I am up to 9 with no plans to do more anytime soon. Maybe you need to complete a few more main quests.
