Are you wearing something for its story value?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 10:09 pm

Yes, great question.

I carry Mehrunes Razor. It has always been my favorite weapon. I am stealthy character that opens up with backstab. Though there are better daggers to open up with, Mehrunes Razor has been my weapon of choice.

Yes, but of course. J'rahzir knows the Jo'Nyan will find many good things. Perhaps he will remember the Moonsugar that is found and was cast away by J'rahzir as well, yes?

This one has never forgotten the sweet scent of Moonsugar, Jo'Nyan will forget her worries and maybe a trinket for J'rahzir also..

Ah yes... Moonsugar. Sweet sugar. Yes, this shall suffice. As for junk one keeps, this Khajiit has found that he can fit an amazing amount of items in the wooden chest. J'rahzir has strived and placed one of every object he found in this box.

Jo'Nyan collects only the finest baubles and trinkets of notable beauty from only the highest of this lands, so-called pure bloods! This one hordes such things with great enthusiasm, yes, but there are many more treasures to be found yet!

J'rahzir can not help, but when he sees a certain something he doesn't own, he must own it all. ((Pokemon ruined me as a child. I have to have all the base armor, unenchanted. Like Iron armor, steel armor, etc with all their weapons. Then I must have all the unique armor and weapons. It isn't healthy. :\))

I remember that Rosa always wore armor sets to match her husband's, until she got some new armor and tried it around a bit. Then she switched to her TGM armor again.

My Argonian wears and will keep wearing Forsworn boots and gauntlets, Saviors hide and Volsung ever since she got those pieces.
That, together with her Ancient Nord Bow since I created her with a shamanistic theme in mind and this look fits her perfectly.

Until i come across a new and interesting looking piece of tribalistic armor thats actually better than what she has now, she'll keep to this.

I always carry the Bond of Matrimony on me when I get it, even if I don't have it equipped.

One of my characters was able to save a particular NPC's life, and was rewarded with many heartfelt thanks and a silver emerald necklace. The necklace hasn't left my inventory since. :)

My first character always carried a lute and a flute. My current character wears the archmages robes, mage circlet, Gauldar's Amulet, and carries her wedding band. She always will too. They mean something to her. I find better stuff and disenchant or sell it. Both characters keep trophies (weapons, etc.) of significant kills or finds in their house(s). For about 20 levels my mage has carried around a potion of escape because she just might need it, but never uses it. It is never "that big of an emergency" even when it really is. "If I use it now, I may really really need it later."

I stick to always wearing a hood, light armor and dual swords to emulate drizzt do'urden.

he always wore cloaks with hoods to hide his identity to avoid confrontation, dark elves are ridiculed and discriminated (for good reason) in faerun, and they're basically peasants in Skyrim, so this role playing option is easy to follow.

I wish there were more clothing/armor options to more closely resemble my true vision, but there are a solid amount to go on as it is for the most part. atleast changing colors would be awesome if they didnt give new stuff.

My Legionaire always wears full heavy Legion Armour, and uses an Imperial Sword and Imperial bow.
For the Empire!

My mages never use armour, only robes or clothing.

I also carry the wedding band, though not equipped.

I also collect every book i find, in hopes of creating a massive library to read after I beat all the quest lines and explore 90% of the dungeons and such.

Vriddi always wears her wedding ring. What sort of (use your imagination) wouldn't. I do use a mod so she can wear another ring as well. She also wears the Token of Kyne although she could enchant something more useful herself.
Then what is Thorom? He gave the wedding ring to his spouse so she would have it in case he never came back.

I always use full Blades Armour and a Katana, I'm sure you can extrapolate my characters back-story from that.

So the question is simple: Do you wear or carry something you got from someone either by quest or was given in your characters backstory? If so why do you wear or carry it?

My current character Thorom wear an Amulet of Arkay because it was a gift from a Priest of Arkay he helped.

My Nord warrior carries his Skyforge Steel war axe as his main weapon even though he's had access to higher-tier materials for a long time now.

I'm still wearing my heavy Imperial set. Plus I've been using the same ring for the last ~25 levels.

No. I am crafting my own gear, because it gives my game more depth than taking rewards.

I wear the Nightingale armour because it very similar (despite the colours) to my avatar, which is what I wanted my character to look and be like.

I've also been using the same Akaviri Blades katana since I first met Delphine

I always wear what suits my characters personality. If its a rare Daedric or other story centric item if it interest my character I will have them use or carry that particular item as my character would have an invested interest in it.
