Armor Classes

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 2:27 am

Ok so if you guys have read already, you know in a recent interview they confirmed armor types
So my thought is
Ok i've seen the light metal and leather armor, they are basically the same models as the metal and leather for F03 minus a few bits
So will medium be the armor we know from F03? and heavy will be decked out? I hope its like that
Reminds me of the latest DC universe cinematic trailer, where all the Supers have decked out versions of their normal costumes.
So maybe Heavy Leather will be more padding (as well as Metal)
Anyways, i'm not sure what to think
Got any ideas

Well they have shown the heavy leather armor in-game already (looks awesome), and it looks like it just has a lot more padding and stuff on it.

That's not what he meant. There will be 3 classes of armor that will include those you have listed above, as well as the others. Leather armor will probably be classified as either a light armor (probably the best LA at that) or a medium armor (maybe the lowest medium). Metal armor will either be a real good medium or a piss poor heavy.

If you pause directly at 00:46 you can see the icon, and a description that says "Medium". You can see the actual armor in a couple of VATS shots during the gameplay shown in the interview.

I've honestly never noticed people "gliding" around when they run. I always though the running animations were fine.

Darn I noticed the Strength requirement for the Light Machine Gun is 8! I hope that doesn't mean if you don't have 8 Strength you can't use it at all. :(

Also I liked the picture of the Vault Boy in the awesome Leather Armor. :tops:

It's never been like that. All it means is that it'd have some penalties to using it. IE, a scrawny 100 pound 5'8 guy, you dont expect him to fire a minigun and be a movie hero.

Alright since I'm planning to have 7 Strength so I probably won't be down right awful at shooting it. :tops:

When I hear "requirement" I usually think that means the bottom line to use, I guess in this case its the bottom line to use at the most effectiveness.

yep you're gonna need to dump points into strength, or else you won't be able to aim. my strength is only gonna be 5 so i'll be using the regular weapons mostly. i ain't wasting my special points on strength just to use the .50 cal or the machine gun.

The more leather armors, the better. They are the best looking armor in every game, IMO. I hope they go a step further than the reinforced and have an awesome heavy leather armor. That would be amazing.
