The meter is displayed for any item with a description. It doesn't mean they're enchanted.
Oh, didn't know that. Thanks for the info.

Well yes... but which ones in particular and which ingredients should they require and which perks etc. Eventually they will be recipes found in the game-world but in the meantime they're going to have to be unlocked in a different way.

Should Arcane smithing just unlock them all for now?

Yeah, I think Arcane Smithing makes the most sense, since you'll eventually need a schematic as well. As for ingredients, they should match the ingredients for whatever non-unique seems closest, but with maybe a grand soul gem added in, and any jewels that might apply. For a flaming unique, maybe call for firesalts instead of a soul gem. Void salts if it does soul trap, frost salts or ice wraith teeth for frost swords.

*Edit - Also vampire dust for absorb health, and ectoplasm seems like it should be good for something...

My opinion, not that it matters, soul gem for soul trap, void salts for electric weapons.

Also, while we're on the subject of uniques, their enchantments should really be a little bit stronger than anything you can craft yourself imo, especially daedric artifacts.

I think with the unique crafting recipes. You will be able to make weapons more powerful than you could through general enchanting. But, this naturally balances itself out since enchanting has the flexibility of putting almost any enchantment on almost any item where as magic weapon crafting requires specific recipe and ingredients and creates a specific result.

My opinion, not that it matters, soul gem for soul trap, void salts for electric weapons.
Yeah... those are good examples. But I was hoping for some specific recipes from you guys. :P

Yeah. Right now they're using generic enchantments but when I get the balance portion of things they will be given special enchantments.

Well, with your recipes please ensure that the sum of the weights of the components equals or exceeds the weight of the resulting item. No armor/weapons out of thin air, lol.

You mean two pinches of pepper and a measure of flour do not spontaneously create greataxes?

It'd also be helpful if you added a condition to the Daedric smithing perk, or possibly arcane smithing, that would let you improve daedric artifact swords/shields/armor twice as much. At present they lack appropriate keywords (like "weapmaterialebony") to let them benefit from any of the smithing perks when you go to improve them. They seem to all use the keyword "DaedricArtifact". I guess another way to do it though would be to add the appropriate material keywords to the weapons.

Improvements do not depend on keywords. Improvements depend on specific improvement recipe records being created. Notice how none of my weapons can be improved.

It depends on both - improvement recipes exist for swords like Dawnbreaker and the Ebony Blade, so you can improve them, but the smithing perks with descriptions like "Can create daedric weapons and armor and improve them twice as much" depend on keywords, which the daedric artifacts lack. The Daedric smithing perk for example looks for the keywords "ArmorMaterialDaedric" or "WeapMaterialDaedric" and effects how much you can improve weapons with those keywords at grindstones and the workbench. Late in the game it means daedric artifacts do about half the damage of homemade swords, since you can't improve them nearly as much.

Oh yeah. it affects how much you can improve them. Not if you can improve them.

The NexusPage has images of almost all of them in a big gallery picture, and the release notes has most of them listed by-name. The GoogleDocs we put together for descriptions also has them listed.

Is the link to that Google Doc public? I can't Google it.

I think I could make a Doc spreadsheet so we could all work on/edit the recipes/ingredients

You could open up a new Google Doc for us all to look at. :)
