What I've always found ironic about Benny is that if he had feigned being loyal just a few days longer, he would have been summoned to the Lucky 38, given that chip by House, and sent along the "The House Always Wins" questline....and could have struck at will to replace House. He clearly would never have seen it coming. And since House tells you this himself, it's not speculation either.
