NCR: “It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.” – Winston Churchill
The supporter of the NCR is someone who thinks that after all that was lost in the Great War; infrastructure, the buildings, the majority of the population, the knowledge; we shouldn’t also lose our political system that we believe in. It took decades for us to come up with this system, so why give up on it now? Everyone in the wasteland should live under the NCR’s rule according to the supporter. Equality and freedom will be part of everyday life. The ‘Vox Populi’ must be heard, even though the ‘populi’ mainly consists of people who aren’t educated. To reach this goal, the NCR expands without forgetting its moral standards. Establishments where people are living a good life and don’t need the NCR’s help, they let be, and if there is a diplomatic solution, they will go for it. You can’t deny that their moral standards don’t slow them down though, and if the NCR expands, it will do so slowly, and it will take years for the NCR to take over the entire wasteland. Sure there are some ‘bad things’ about the NCR, like bureaucracy, high taxes, discrimination (Major Knight), unqualified officers (Bitter Springs anyone?), corruption, the way the NCR’s soldiers are treated, and all that jazz. The NCR supporter will say that most of these things are simply ’for the greater good. ’At the end of the day, the NCR supporter is a proud American who would fight for liberty and freedom, if he were a waste lander.
Caesar’s Legion: ‘’The end justifies the means.’’ – Common expression in the English language, derp
(Note that, like many on this forum already stated, we know nearly nothing about the life in the East)
The Legion supporter says harsh times call for harsh measures. The wasteland is a mess, and the Legion is going to clean it. Fast. The roads and establishments will be safe, with minimal loss of lives of the innocent. Their methods are brutal and effective (Forlorn Hope). The Legion, of all factions, gets the most opposition on this forum. They do horrible things, there’s no denying that. But if the Legion takes over, they take over fast. It will be a matter of time until the Legion takes over the entire wasteland, and everyone will be safe from raiders and military forces. Living under Caesar’s rule won’t be very cool though, I’m just going to quote myself here: ‘’In the Legion, people are born, they are brainwashed, they serve Caesar, they die.’’ It’s an uncool life, but it’s a safe life. An argument that’s often used against the Legion is that it will crumble when Caesar dies, because all legionnaries are like programmed robots. Whether the Legion will be stable under the rule of Lanius or Lucius is a very subjective thing I believe. One of two things happens:
A ) The Legionnairies won’t recognize their beloved Caesar in the new Caesar, and infighting breaks out.
B ) The Legionnairies are so loyal they’d even follow the orders of Caesar’s if Caesar’s second in command was a manbearpig.
Mr. House: ‘’ Throught the centuries there were men who took first steps down new roads armed with nothing but their vision.'' - Ayn Rand
As a Mr. House supporter I look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rPFvLUWkzs and I say ‘’yeah that’s pretty cool, but have you guys heard about the man that saved Las Vegas from being consumed by nuclear bombs and restored it to its pre-war glory?’’ We Mr. House supporters believe that a man who has made such accomplishments is the best for the Mojave. However, for all we know, at the other side of the wasteland there may be a gang of raiders rap ing little 6yearold girls. We Mr. House supporters aren’t going to do anything about it. Life in the Mojave will be stable, peaceful, safe and cold. Not as safe as life in Caesar’s land, but still it will be safe. Science will progress very fast, and life will only become better and better. There will be no way the leader can emotionally connect with the civilians. Some people think of this as a big issue, others don't. The biggest issue in my opinion with Mr. House is still the fact that he doesn't expand, and that the good life the people in the Mojave are living won't be for everyone.
Wild Card: ‘’No Gods, no masters.’’ - Emma Goldman
The Wild Card support says that no one is qualified to rule over the Mojave, for whatever reason. There is very little to say about the Wild Card supporter, because no one knows how the Courier rules over the Mojave. You could say that his main disadvantage is the same as Mr. House’s: Life will be good, but the good life won’t be for everyone.
