Attention: the "Special Surprise" on tuesday may not

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 3:16 am

Lol, I'm not trying to deny it's worth (otoh, I'm sure I don't appreciate it as well. I'm on the xbox atm). But still, I don't understand why they couldn't simply announce that.

Why all the secrecy to make an announcement about a mere texture pack?

I agree. To me it`s no big deal at all. The game looks very good to me as it is and I`m the kinda person who really prefers real gameplay changes or fixes. An improved AI would be a nice bonus or added extra skills or even a proper full quest or radiant quests. Something actually useful to further gameplay.

I didn't know Mass Effect 2 had a high res texture pack, couldn't find anything Official on Google either, can you send me a link as I'm really interested in seeing that.

You're right, it was Dragon Age 2. Sorry, played too many games to keep 'em all straight. lol

If it's not a high resolution texture pack then I'll stick with the modded one, since they are great. If the textures are not as good quality as I hope then I'll stick with the modded ones. :)

A mere... MERE... MERE?? .... no Sir.. thats not a mere texture pack.. That is something lots of folks wanted since Day 1, atleast the PC Community....so if lots of people want something.. it′s then a big deal to give people what they want.. that doesnt happen everyday... to get what we want ^^

Some weapons highres pack = mere texture pack
Landscape and cities highres pack = WIN
landscape, cities, armor, weapons, all high res pack = AWESOME

+1

Meh.
I'd rather have a DX-11 pipeline and better shaders. You get more graphic enhancement with those than you do memory eating uber textures.....

The 1.4 patch notes state the game should get better for PS3 users. The quest fixes, incomplete as they are, make the game better for everyone. And this is speculation, but they could very well have more fixes in the pipe. :)

Your sig is missing an apostrophe. That's extremely funny when one considers its message.

(Crosses fingers for DLC announcement)

Still can't wait for people to get their hands on the CK. I know they will prolly make some of the craziest weapons/armor/quests ever.

I myself hope for a DLC announcement... if they're doing dlc in a way similar to fallout then from looking at when fallout 3 and fallout new vegas (i know NV isnt bethesda but it's still pretty close to it) dlc was released now would be the exact time for a dlc to be anounced but who knows bethesdas exact dlc plans, perhaps they will be much bigger and we'll have to wait another couple of months

Yes! There will be awesome mods. The fact that Bethesda evolves their technology incrementally means they seem to appear more quickly with each game too.

I will just be damn happy to get elbow deep in the CK and let my imagination soar. Also, it will be great to see the community start churning out quality mods as well.

High res textures are an option. Don't want 'em, don't download 'em. Haven't played Dragon Age 2 or The Witcher 2 have you? All had optional high res texture packs put out by their developers for free.
So, high resolution texture pack it is! I'm saving my game right now; after that I'll give it a try. But, where are the CK and the Steam workshop?

CK should be on Tools section of the Library and the Workshop must be somewhere in the Comunity, but that is just a guess, I'm at work right now.

Thank you for taking the time to answer me! :)

I found the CK amongst the Steam tools and, yes, the workshop is in the community. ;)

Frankly, I don't regret installing it. Besides the missing textures problem, I haven't noticed any loss in performance! I'm keeping it.
