[RQlooking for] Bandits should not wear elven glass

You can still subscribe to it, leave Steam download its content in your data folder. Once this done, put the esp and the bsa files away in a safe place and unsubscribe. Once this done, put the files back in their place and you'll have a mod as if you had downloaded it on the Nexus.

yea, but doing that now would also cause my game to update, and i dont want that atm.

The roadside thieves are members of the thieves guild. I have no problem with them wearing elven or glass. I just want to know who keeps resurrecting them, I know I've killed that same dark elf at least six times now.

I feel about it the same way as I felt about the leveling enemies of Oblivion: Of course I would like for some tough enemies later in the game, but there should be exceptions. I don't want to fight a level 30 rat the same way as I don't want to fight a level 30 roadside thief with uber-armor and super-weapons. A guy that could probably take on the dragon-problem on his own, when he's not robbing peasants. -.-

Just my opinion.

I think Skyrim is doing it much better than Oblivion though. Instead of a 1:1 leveling of the same enemies, the game simply provides stronger variants. And not each new level, but in larger steps. They get a "stronger" look, better abilities, magic or shouts (like the dragons or draugr) or upgraded gear.

As long as it stays believeable I'm okay with it. The meager thief in glass armor is definitely not believeable, hence I changed it.
agreed, just seems more likely to me that the average bandit/thief would be in possession of an iron longsword (Exquisite) rather than an elven longsword. if i'm reading the charts correctly the upgraded iron longsword would do more damage. i have failed to include other factors but my point remains the same. iron longsword are easy to come by, iron ore is easy to come by, iron ingots are easy to make/come by. hell even some bandit dungeons even have Grindstone/Workbench in them that the bandits/thieves can use.

it would be, if it wasnt on steam, i refuse to use it.

this doesn't give bandits daedric armor or anything, but it does give them enchanted versions of the typical armor

If anybody s
Ah, yes. Them, too. They also wear Elven, but that goes without saying. They actually have a weaker variant of Elven armor that they use before the player can find Elven normally; however, many Thalmor will always use Elven weapons, like Ondolemar.
There is Elven Light Armor, then Elven Armor, then Elven Gilded Armor, and finally glass.

If anybody is interested, I just taught myself how to edit leveled lists and deleted all the glass from the thalmor item lists. I never liked how it looked, and how it flooded the place with supposedly rare armor.

why cant they ever have ebony or daedric? kinda silly that we keep getting stronger, but htey cant.

Because the basic concept of a bandit is that they're poor. They get by through live by ambushing people and taking their money. They live in caves and hang together eating skeever carcasses.
So I personally think Elven/Ebony/Daedric might be out of their league for what's affordable

yea, their bandits, they rob and steal for all kinds of people, some of them may have had glass/orcish/ebony/whatever. it's no tunrealistic to think they actually may have found some during their bandit raids on whatever trade caravan or city they have attacked. and who's to say that the bandt cheif you just found isnt also a master smith and has been crafting himself and his bandits some stronger gear?

altho, the better stuff (ebony/ daedric) would probabaly be best ob Bandit cheifs, while hte other types of bandits go to orchish maybe.

The point brought up is that if 1) he was a master smith and able to make ebony/daedric, he would be a rich dude living in a mansion rivaling the Gray-Mane running the Skyforge. And 2), if he found it, he's a poor bandit and would sell it and make enough to live on for years.

Bandits. The concept of a bandit is poor. Do criminals steal cars to use for themselves? No, they are stolen to sell. That's more of the point.

But the great thing about modding is you can have it your way, and we can have it ours. So it doesn't matter to me much how you envision it. We can both co-exist with our ideas. :)
