best place to call home and why

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 12:10 pm

I like the lucky 38, but all the doors make it take for ever to get inside. The other safehouses are cool for role playing, but other than that, Idont use them, to small.Novac would be cooler, but theres no upgrades, nothing special to it.I use it cause it only has one loading to get through though.I wish they would put a dlc that gives beastly houses out like in Oblivion, or at least add a fast travel point outside the lucky 38.

I use the Novac room. It has a Mojave Express box, two vendors, a doctor, Workbench and a Reloading Bench within walking distance, plus merchant caravans passing by the road every now and then. But its location is quite far from where most of the action is in mid- to endgame.

Victor's shack is probably a close second. Three vendors (albeit lousy ones), a doctor, a Mojave Express box, a Workbench and a Reloading bench within walking distance. The only downside is that the Mojave Express box is a bit of a long walk from the shack, which is tedious when over-encumbered

Why disable him? He hands you the Presidential Suite on the 22nd floor.

Because of his hideous moustache on his picture.

I, personally, call Nipton home. I love the smell of burning Powder Gangers.

I use two places...the NCR Safe House and the Novac Motel...both because of location and there's plenty of storage.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Wolfhorn_ranch, there are crops like Coyote Tobacco Chew that grows back in a few days, water, and it very very peaceful that nobody would ever step on your territory. Also I can just fast travel from anywhere to my house without opening multiple doors just to get into a suite.

You'll get a couple Powder Gangers now & then, but that shouldn't be a problem.

Exactly. If you get a few Powder Gangers and you have a bad reputation with them, just get the hunting shotgun out and say, "Get off my property!" However if you freed the Powder Gangers from a Legion camps then you have no problem whatsoever.

The followers of the apocolypse also give you a safehouse. Then theres the presidential suite at the tops from benny. And also a suite at the Luxor you get comped if you win enough gambling. The casino in freeside eventually gives you a permanent room as well.

*edit The BOS also gives a safehouse.

I know that you can get one in freeside and in Vegas, but had no idea about the NCR and the legion.
Where are they located?

The Ncr safehoue is north of black mountain, just south-east of that little deathclaw train station and the legion one is on the southern edge of the map.

Since I usually svck at explaining stuff here's a nice http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110107084504/fallout/images/e/e1/Fallout_New_Vegas_Map_v0.03.png :)

I5 is the legion safehouse and U4 being the NCR safehouse.

I use the Novac Room up until Mr. Orion Moreno decides to move out of his place (or you could murderize him yourself if you feel the need to miss out on some awesome questing), then I move into his place. I like all the shelving so I can display all the crap I collect throughout the game. It's also convenient to the Gun Runners.

I typically use Harper's Shack as it's fairly central and is only a short trip to the side on my initial visit to Novac (I always take the 'intended' route through Nipton). Now that the Abandoned BoS Bunker is open for use I am tempted to relocate there even though it's off to one side, although I would probably need to add a couple of crates to have sufficient storage as well as cleaning up a few items.

My first few characters used the gas station in Goodsprings, as it has plenty of storage and a mattress to sleep on, however the lack of a water source or campfire got annoying after a while as I always play in hardcoe mode. True, there are both down at Goodsprings Source, and the Geckos provide a steady food supply, however I prefer having everything close to the safe spot.
